"What is described here is not only a curse, but also some very peculiar campus legends."

The label above indicates that the residents of a vanished town disappeared without a trace overnight.

Many people have been conducting surveys, but there are still no results, making it an unsolved case.

Afterwards, some suspected it was the work of a curse, so they included it in the school's records.

214. The Strange Village

Nai Zi said.

"What happened in that village and this event have many similarities, but the two events are separated by several decades."

Ron frowned slightly. He carefully read the information and indeed found that the two events were extremely similar.

"Could this have been done by the same person?"

Nai Zi shook her head.

"They don't look exactly alike, although they have many similarities."

However, there are significant differences in certain details, which proves that some people are imitating this method.

"We'll go back to the village tonight; hopefully we'll find more clues."

Ron nodded; the only clue now lay in the small village.

There was no moon that night, and it was pitch black.

Nai Zi called Ron, and the two of them, armed with flashlights, headed towards the small village.

"It's a bit creepy to come here so late at night."

Nai Zi said as she walked.

When they arrived at the small village, they were shocked to find it brightly lit.

The villagers didn't show any unusual expression when they saw Ron and Nai Zi.

"How is this going?"

Ron looked at Nai Zi, who shook his head. This was completely different from the incident back then.

Ron blocked one of the villagers' path and asked.

Where did you go during the day?

The villager looked at Ron with a surprised expression, seemingly not understanding what Ron meant.

Just then, a villager walked over and greeted Ron warmly.

"You're here again?"

Ron's expression changed slightly when he saw the villager.

The villager in front of him was the one who had invited him to stay at the temple.

Ron asked, somewhat surprised.

"Do you live here too?"

The villager stared at Ron with a look of astonishment.

"This brother is joking. He stayed at my house just a couple of days ago, how come he doesn't remember?"

"But it seems you weren't here during the day."

The villager said with some surprise.

“We have always been here, and our ancestors have lived here for hundreds of years.”

Nai Zi secretly pinched Ron and whispered something.

"It seems we must have misjudged it and didn't see it clearly."

After saying that, she gestured for herself and Ron to leave the area.

Ron didn't know what Nai Zi meant, but he still followed Nai Zi outside.

"I feel there's something wrong with this village."

Ron nodded; in fact, he had already had this feeling.

When they came during the day, the place was quiet and deserted.

But now these people have started to become active again.

"But what should we do now? Should we just pretend nothing happened?"

Ron said.

"Let's wait and see."

The two of them then went into the village again.

The villagers were very hospitable and warmly invited them to their homes.

Ron nodded and then followed them into the house.

The house looks very tidy.

Ron carefully observed his surroundings, and he began to rapidly extend his senses outwards.

To his surprise, there was no trace of a curse here.

Just then, the villager came over carrying a steaming bowl of food.

Just as Ron was about to pick up his chopsticks, he was stopped by Naizi.

Ron looked at the crabapple with some surprise.

Nai Zi said in a low voice.

"Haven't you noticed? There seems to be a very strange atmosphere in this room."

Ron said.

“We all know there’s a problem here, but if we don’t eat now, we might alert them.”

He had already picked up a piece of meat after saying that, but could he really eat it in this environment?

Ron looked at the piece of meat, swallowed hard, and found it difficult to swallow.

Nai Zi looked at him with a smile.

"It seems we should give up now."

"This is cured meat that we've stored for many years. Try it quickly, it's sure to taste great."

The villager looked at Ron with a smile, and then he brought over another plate of food.

Just then, a burst of heat suddenly appeared on Ron's chest.

That must be the trace left by the jade pendant.

Ron was somewhat surprised.

He had assumed that the mark would only react when a curse was in effect.

Unexpectedly, the reaction was so strong that a surge of heat rushed into Ron's eyes in an instant.

He felt something was off about his eyes, so he quickly rubbed them.

He then noticed that the surrounding environment seemed to have changed.

The dilapidated little house was still there, but all those people were gone.

The table was covered with rotten food, which constantly emitted a nauseating stench.

Ron suddenly stood up and quickly looked around.

Nai noticed Ron's unusual behavior and asked him.

"what happened to you?"

Ron said in a low voice.

“There’s something wrong with this village, let’s leave immediately.”

After he finished speaking, he tried to pull up the rope, but at that moment a rotting corpse came out of the house.

"Are you going out? Is this food not to your liking?"

Ron saw the rotting corpse, its flesh almost falling off, and it emitted a pungent odor.

He quickly took two steps back.

But the corpse didn't seem to notice Ron's abnormality; he continued speaking.

"This is the best cured meat in our village. It would be a waste if you didn't eat it."

Nai Zi whispered to Ron.

"What exactly did you see?"

Ron then realized that Nai Zi probably hadn't noticed anything unusual yet, and he whispered.

"I suddenly felt a surge of heat in my eyes, and I could see what was happening around me."
