Ron said.
"Things are getting increasingly complicated and the whole situation is becoming more and more confusing. There has been no clue about the mysterious person's whereabouts from beginning to end, so we have now reached a stalemate."
Taiichiro sat on the cold stool and looked at Ron.
“Back then, we fought against the curse together, sharing hardships and never wavering in our loyalty. But now you seem to have changed.”
Chapter 24, A New Solution
Ron shook his head.
“This matter is complicated, and I don’t want you to be accused of indiscriminately killing innocent people.”
Although I don't know exactly what they want from us, one thing is certain: they won't let this go, and they'll strike again soon.
Taichiro said suddenly.
"Let me out, maybe I can help you."
Ron looked into Taiichiro's eyes. Taiichiro appeared very calm at the moment, seemingly without any emotion. However, Ron could feel the burning passion deep within him. He had always been so determined that he would never be discouraged by something like this.
"I really need your help right now, and you're the only person I can trust. But I hope you can give me a little more time. I will prove to you that I'm right."
Taiichiro looked at Ron with some confusion and said.
"At this point, I no longer care about right or wrong. My greatest wish is simply to enable these people to live a good life."
Ron seemed to be able to sense the sincerity in Taiichiro's words, and he also knew that Taiichiro had always thought this way. After thinking it over, he decided to release Taiichiro.
So he opened the door, and Taiichiro came out. He glanced at Ron, but didn't say anything. It was clear that they both knew what the other was thinking.
Ron led Taichiro to the corpses and showed him the energy.
“They were all killed by a very mysterious energy, not by the power of a curse. We are now sensing this energy from one of the people, but he doesn’t seem like the murderer. In fact, he should be a victim as well.”
Taiichiro looked at Ron with some surprise.
"If all of this is just speculation, then we have made no progress at all, and these speculations may not be true at all."
Ron nodded.
"That's right, these are all my deductions, and it's clear that there's still no definite clue about this matter."
I never expected this matter to be so complicated.
Taiichiro stared at the corpses scattered on the ground, his brows furrowed. He had indeed been filled with righteous indignation and sensed the aura of curse emanating from the corpses, which was why he immediately thought of a curse.
However, after examining the corpse closely, he suddenly realized that he had been too hasty in his judgment. Although the corpse did have a faint aura of curse, it was more of a manifestation of another kind of energy.
Moreover, this energy shouldn't be emanating from a curse, Taiichiro said.
"Bring that person out; I want to have a good look at him."
So Ron brought the boy out, and Taiichiro looked at the boy.
The boy was surprised that someone else would come here. He looked at Taiichiro nervously and then said to Taiichiro.
“I didn’t do this, I can assure you.”
Taiichiro shook his head.
"I will not believe anyone's assurances; I only believe the truth."
He carefully sensed the energy emanating from the young man, as well as the energy emanating from the corpses. Indeed, the two energies had some similarities, but Taiichiro quickly discovered that there were also significant differences between them.
The energy emanating from those corpses seemed to have been processed, and they emitted a warm glow, making them easy to spot.
The energy emanating from the boy was indeed very pure and contained no impurities; it was clear that it truly belonged to the boy himself.
Taiichiro said to the boy.
"Perhaps you are not the murderer, but you should be able to provide us with some information. Not everyone possesses this kind of energy, so who exactly has the same energy as you?"
The boy shook his head innocently and said.
"They already questioned me, but I don't know anything. This has nothing to do with me. I was just caught by them unintentionally."
Taiichiro neither denied nor confirmed the boy's words; he simply looked at the boy, and the boy felt extremely uneasy under Taiichiro's gaze.
Just then, a curse came to report that they had found another pile of corpses in a small ravine, and the way these corpses died was almost exactly the same as the previous two places, which proved that the other party had struck again.
Ron stood up abruptly, his brow furrowed.
"They are absolutely despicable. This is clearly a declaration of war against us, and they have gone too far by killing so many innocent people."
The small ravine was very secluded, and it took them a long time to find it. Not far from there was a huge pit filled with corpses.
Despite his discomfort, Ron knelt down and carefully examined the wounds on the corpses.
Sure enough, the wounds on these corpses were almost identical. Taiichiro saw this and frowned deeply, while the boy next to him said something.
"What is that thing?"
Ron followed his finger and saw a small crystal not far away. Ron picked up the crystal and found that it was emitting a very dense energy, and there was a wisp of black energy wrapped around it.
When Ron sensed the energy within the crystal, his expression immediately changed, because this energy was almost identical to the energy emanating from the corpses.
"Finally solved. So that's how it is. The other party was obviously disguising the energy in the boy's body and then creating this crystal. When he killed these people, he would release the energy of these crystals, so that we would think that it was this energy that killed those people."
Taiichiro frowned.
"But if that's the case, then they should have two different types of energy: one is the energy that killed them, and the other is the energy that the other party is disguising. But why is there only this one type of energy here?"
Ron suddenly remembered a curse he'd heard before. He said that when he was in another village, he felt a terrifying energy vanish in an instant.
"The energy that the opponent can unleash has a very strong diffusivity. Once it bursts out, his energy will dissipate very quickly. That's why only one type of energy remains here."
"So, does that mean we just need to find whose energy spreads rapidly to find the killer?"
Ron nodded. Theoretically, that was true, but the world was so vast that finding someone whose energy spread rapidly within it was like finding a needle in a haystack.
Chapter 25, The Strong Speak No Words, the Truth
Ron immediately told the girl his guess, and after thinking about it, the girl nodded and said...
“Your guess makes a lot of sense. We’ll send those curses out right now to investigate.”
After everyone left, Taiichiro looked at Ron.
Ron felt a little uneasy under Taiichiro's gaze and said.
Don't look at me like that.
Taiichiro said helplessly.
"I'm sorry, I was too hasty before, I misunderstood you, and it almost caused a disaster."
Ron smiled and shook his head, then patted Taichiro on the shoulder.
"It's okay. No matter what happens, I'll always be on your side, so please always believe in me."
Taiichiro nodded. He knew that he had been trapped in resentment, and at that time he hated the curse. From the beginning, he was a silver hunter who made a living by killing curses. They had suffered a lot at the hands of the curse before. Only now had he slowly awakened and gained great strength. However, when he saw the corpses and the curse aura on them, he immediately lost his mind.
"I think we'll find the real killer soon."
Ron said confidently.
But things didn't go as easily as he imagined. A long time passed and the cursed ones received no news; they hadn't found that kind of person.
During this time, although no one died, Ron could always sense that the other party was like a lingering ghost, often displaying that energy in front of them.
Ron, however, could not find any trace of the other party. The other party had concealed his presence very well, which kept Ron awake at night. He could always feel that the other party was right next to him and watching him.
So everything he did was under the other party's watchful eye, which made Ron very worried.
When he found the girl, he was surprised to find that she had the same feeling.
"I never expected this guy to be so terrifying. He's like a ghost, always haunting me. Several times I've felt his energy right in front of me, and I thought he was right next to me, but no matter what I do, I can't find him. How does this guy do it?"
Ron said.
“I have the same feeling. If that’s the case, it proves that the other party hasn’t left. He’s been monitoring our actions and hasn’t made a move yet. He must be very confident in himself.”
The girl said helplessly.
“I have sent out many curses to investigate this matter, but so far there has been no news. There is no such person in this world. Could it be that our guesses are wrong?”
Ron frowned. He believed his previous guess was correct. As for why he couldn't find this person, perhaps the other party was good at hiding and had long since concealed their presence, so no one else could possibly know.
Just then, they heard a strange noise outside the door. Ron and the girl immediately became alert and rushed out.
But there was nothing outside, except for a line of small characters on the wooden board in front of the door.
"Don't think you've already seen me; in fact, I've already seen you."
The small print sent chills down Ron's spine. The other party was indeed hiding here, but they hadn't noticed at all. The other party's stealth skills had reached a level of perfection.
Ron felt that the other party was already very terrifying, and he looked at the girl.
"This guy is so good at hiding, what should we do? Are we just going to let him spy on us like this?"
The girl sensed the energy emanating from these words. It was a very strange energy, completely different from the energy they had sensed before. The other party was able to disguise this energy and then release it to confuse the other party.
The girl said.
