Chapter 449: Sabo's Collapse

Chapter 449: Sabo's Collapse

"It's a good thing he wasn't born from a banana," Ace chuckled, "otherwise they'd have to call him Xiangtaro or Jiaotaro, or maybe even Bananataro."

Hearing Ace's words, Luffy buried his face in Lucci's chest and giggled, his whole body shaking. He successfully woke up Lucci who was on the verge of falling asleep. He looked at Luffy who was lying on him and laughing with a confused look. "What happened?"

"Listen up, you bastard!" Sabo really wanted to grab Lucci's shoulders and shake him madly as revenge. How could this guy, after putting him in such a situation, just fall asleep with such a clear conscience! !

"Um, okay." Lucci scratched his face guiltily, trying to stay awake. He didn't hear Sabo's story, but Sabo looked very devastated.

Sabo continued to tell the story in an impatient voice, a story he no longer wanted to tell after being interrupted so many times. "One day he told his parents that he was going to fight a monster on an island and steal his treasure. Before leaving, he asked his parents if they could make him some sticky rice balls to eat on the road."

"I'm hungry," Luffy announced.

"Sachi will give you a lot of meat tomorrow morning as long as you go to sleep now." Lucci took the opportunity to say.

"No, I don't want to sleep yet." Luffy said firmly.

Luffy sighed helplessly and looked at Sabo, hoping that Sabo's story would successfully make Luffy fall asleep.

"His parents made him sticky rice balls and wished him well. He set off with a smile, and on the way a monkey joined him and said to him..."

"Monkey?" Luffy asked curiously.

"You're just a monkey," Ace scoffed.

Lucci felt a little offended and stared at Ace.

Ace felt Lucci's gaze, touched his nose and stopped talking.

"I'm not a monkey! Monkeys are mean." Luffy argued, then added, "But this monkey is really good because he can talk, so I like him."

"Yes, he can talk." Sabo nodded, turning Luffy's attention back to him, and then he began to imitate Momotaro and the monkey's conversation, successfully making Luffy laugh.

Sabo's smile was forced because every time he talked about Momotaro taming animals with rice dumplings, Luffy would interrupt him and was afraid that Momotaro would lose all his food.

Sabo could only try to comfort Luffy and tell him that Momotaro still had a lot of sticky rice balls to share, but Ace kept questioning him where he would put so many sticky rice balls.

As for Lucci, he didn't help him at all. He was always dozing off, and only when he mentioned his name would he reluctantly give him a reaction. This made Sabo very annoyed. All of this was caused by Lucci, and now he was staying out of it! !

"They finally arrived at the island where the Yokai Demon lived!" Sabo said through gritted teeth. He had to continue the story in the end. The only thing he was thankful for was that it was almost over. "There was a castle there. Momotaro and his dog forced their way through the gate and entered the castle. There they fought the Yokai Demon and won."

"Talk about fighting!" Luffy turned his head to look at Sabo and pleaded.

"Luffy, this isn't in the story." Sabo sighed in distress. Looking at the disappointed Luffy, Sabo suddenly stretched out his hand to Lucci's cheek, pulled hard, and shouted dissatisfiedly, "Lucci, it's your turn!"

"What?" Lucci was startled and opened his eyes in panic. "Is the story over?"

Ace practically laughed beside him at the distressed look on Sabo's face and Lucci's panic at being suddenly awakened, and while he sympathized with his brother, that didn't mean he wouldn't also take pleasure in it.

"I want to hear the battle part of Sabo's story," Luffy looked up at Lucci and pleaded, "and I want robots in it."

Lucci rubbed his face, feeling a little embarrassed, because he didn't hear the story Sabo told at all, so he had no idea about the battle part of the story that Luffy asked for, so he turned to look at Ace.

"Ace will tell you, Luffy. Ace knows all about the battles. There will be robots involved, right, Ace?"

Ace couldn't help but laugh, finally taking over sympathetically to recount the details of the intense battle Luffy had hoped for, and Luffy's attention was immediately drawn to him.

This gave Sabo a chance to rest and rest his head on his pillow, while Lucci still closed and opened his eyes because of Luffy's occasional shouting. The sleepiness in his eyes almost solidified, but he had to try hard to stay awake under the occasional shouting of his three brothers.

Ace was beginning to despair now, because Sabo's constant interruptions made him tell the story longer than he wanted. He now understood Sabo a little.

And as long as Luffy looked at him expectantly with those big, sparkling eyes, he couldn't help but keep telling the story, and he finally lost hope after describing the fifth battle, which involved a hidden mecha that the Yokai Mo had built specifically to fight Momotaro... Honestly, it was a good thing he didn't know the original story.

Sabo finally interrupted when Ace was about to lose his temper and told Luffy the final ending of the story.

"Momotaro eventually captured the king of the Yokai demons as a prisoner, and the other Yokai demons yielded to his demands and brought him all the treasures in the castle. There were coats that made the wearer invisible, beautiful beads that looked like they held the entire ocean, and all kinds of dazzling gold and jewels, as well as all kinds of precious items."

"Did he get all the treasure?" Luffy looked at Sabo and asked, although he wanted to hear more about the battle.

"Yes, in the end he brought the treasure back home and gave it to his parents and some villagers who were robbed." Sabo concluded and breathed a sigh of relief. The story was finally over.

"That's it?" Ace couldn't help but ask, somewhat puzzled. "He won and got the treasure, but he gave it to his parents?"

"I think so." Sabo shrugged. "Although I don't understand it either, but after all, I didn't write it."

"But what about the monkey, pheasant, and dog?" Luffy asked, eyes wide. "What about his friends? Did he keep them?"

"Of course, Luffy." Sabo smiled and stroked Luffy's hair. "They are his friends, so of course they went home with him. They can eat mochi together all the time."

Luffy grinned "That's a good story!"

"Not bad," Ace agreed. "The battle with the mecha was the best!"

"That's right!" Luffy agreed happily. "Robots make everything better!"

"Yes." Sabo sighed helplessly, "Now we should go to bed."

"But I still don't want to sleep." Luffy blinked innocently.

"I give up!" Sabo shouted and pounced on Lucci, pulling his face in revenge.

"Sabo, what are you doing!?" Lucci woke up instantly and kept pushing away Sabo who suddenly pounced on him.

Luffy and Ace chuckled.
