Chapter 477 I Refused
Chapter 477 I Refused
"Didn't I tell you already?" Lucci looked at Luffy with a puzzled expression. "I want to sail on my own."
"When did you say that?!" Ace crossed his arms and looked at Lucci with displeasure.
Sabo looked at Lucci with some confusion, as he had always assumed that Lucci was going to sail with Luffy.
"Didn't you already know this two years ago?" Lucci couldn't help but roll his eyes at Ace's displeased face. "And didn't you attend Moby's farewell party yesterday? You drank the most."
"That banquet was because you were going to sail with Luffy!" Ace retorted. "I was seeing you off."
“What’s the difference? We’re both leaving.” Lucci said, puzzled. “Ace, didn’t you already agree? So I really don’t understand why you’re angry now.”
“I agreed because you promised to sail with Luffy and join him,” Ace said through gritted teeth. “You never said you left the Whitebeard Pirates to sail alone. If that’s the case, you might as well have stayed with the Whitebeard Pirates.”
The Straw Hat crew watched Luffy and his brothers' conversation quietly. They seemed to have some disagreements. Nami, on the other hand, was somewhat glad that she had revealed the news. It turned out that Luffy and the others didn't know about it. She had said that with Luffy's personality, how could he possibly give up?
Qi watched the four brothers' family argument without showing any emotion, then turned to look at the sea. A warship was approaching, but Hancock's ship blocked it. Qi looked thoughtfully at Lucci, who was still confronting his three brothers. It seemed they wouldn't reach a conclusion anytime soon. In that case...
"Nami," Qi called softly, looking at Nami.
Nami looked at Qi with a puzzled expression and moved closer to him. "What's wrong?"
Ki leaned close to Nami's ear and whispered to her, "Put on the membrane now."
Nami looked at Ki's determined eyes, then at Luffy who was holding onto Lucci and preventing him from leaving, and immediately understood Ki's meaning. She smiled and looked at the other crew members.
"Why?" Robin raised an eyebrow at Lucci. She had overheard what Lucci had said to Nami, but she was genuinely confused. "Shouldn't you support Lucci?"
“As his shadow, I should indeed support his decision.” Qi shrugged. “But I don’t think he really doesn’t want to; I think he needs a push more.”
The others who were eavesdropping heard Qi's words and couldn't help but laugh as they watched the brothers still arguing.
Looking at Luffy standing in front of his two older brothers, constantly turning his head to watch them argue, Qi couldn't help but smile. Luffy had really become very strong now, and he believed that he would soon see the day when Luffy became the Pirate King.
"Why are you so agitated? I told you about that conversation two years ago." Lucci looked at Ace with displeasure. He had already told him back then, but never mind. "Since you don't remember, then I'll tell you formally again. I don't intend to join Luffy's pirate crew, and I left the Whitebeard Pirates because I want to explore the world on my own."
"No way!" Ace shouted angrily.
"Why not?" Lucci frowned at the angry Ace. "You have no reason to stop me!"
"Anyway, you can't sail alone!" Ace took a deep breath, suppressing his anger.
“Lucci,” Sabo interrupted, cutting off their argument. “Ace meant that the New World is the most difficult and dangerous sea area, and it would be very dangerous for you to go there alone.”
"Don't underestimate me. You should trust my abilities and seafaring skills. I haven't been in the second team for nothing," Lu Qi said with a smile. "I feel this kind of voyage plan will be very interesting and free, and it's something I decided on from the beginning. As brothers, you should support me."
"No! You can do all that on my ship too!" Luffy said, pulling Lucci's arm to draw his attention. "Besides, Lucci, you promised me you'd sail with me!"
"Luffy, I refused!" Lucci covered his forehead in frustration. He didn't understand what was wrong with his brothers today. This matter had been decided two years ago, and he had been prepared for it for a long time.
"No, you agreed later!" Luffy said angrily, not understanding why Lucci was denying it now.
"When did I agree?" Lucci sighed helplessly, not understanding when he had agreed, since he had been refusing all along.
Luffy stared at the air for a moment, then said matter-of-factly, "When you're sleeping."
"Luffy, are you serious?" Lucci looked at Luffy expressionlessly, then looked at his other two brothers. "I have no recollection of this at all."
"Luffy." Ace's lips twitched. "You've been saying Lucci agreed, were you referring to him agreeing in his dream!?"
Sabo covered his face, utterly at a loss for words. Although he didn't support Lucci sailing alone, Luffy's move to get Lucci to agree to join was... so very Luffy... No wonder Lucci said that.
"I don't care, Lucci, you've already promised me and agreed!" Luffy gripped Lucci's arm even tighter and said with dissatisfaction, "So now you're my crew member, I'm your captain, and you have to come with me to Fishman Island!"
"Luffy……"
Sabo watched with amusement as Lucci tried to reason with Luffy. It was clear that Lucci understood that if he couldn't persuade Luffy, Luffy wouldn't let him go, but he didn't understand that Luffy's stubbornness was impossible to change.
At this moment, Sabo noticed that the other members of the Straw Hat crew were already preparing to dive, but Luffy hadn't said anything about setting sail, had he? Sabo immediately turned to look at Qi, who was waving at him.
“You…” Sabo wanted to ask.
“Luffy wants Lucci to sail with him.” Knowing what Sabo was about to say, Lucci interrupted, “Why don’t you come with us to Fishman Island?”
Sabo scratched his head, noticing that Ace was also aware that the ship was about to sink, but he didn't seem to have any intention of leaving. Lucci, on the other hand, was completely focused on persuading Luffy and didn't notice the Straw Hat Pirates' actions at all. Even if he had noticed, there was nothing he could do; Luffy definitely wouldn't let him go.
Although he really wanted to go, he simply didn't have time to accompany Luffy to Fishman Island. He had already been on vacation for a long time, and his investigation mission couldn't be delayed any longer.
Sabo couldn't help but laugh as he watched Lucci being constantly pestered by Luffy. He wasn't really worried about whether Lucci would join Luffy's pirate crew. It was destined from the beginning that Lucci would never refuse Luffy. Now all that was needed was a push, and he believed Ace could help.
