Chapter 479 How many brothers does Luffy actually have?

"Wow, my stomach is growling!" Chopper exclaimed excitedly, looking at the package in Luffy's hand. "Are they all bento boxes? There are so many!"

"Ace, have you finished talking to Nami about how to get to Fishman Island?" Lucci asked Ace, who had come to help him, after helping Luffy untie the knot in his lunch bag.

“I’ve already told Nami.” Ace nodded. “We’re already on the current heading towards Fishman Island.”

"You actually knew about this current!" Nami said with great relief. "If Ace hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known there was a faster route to Fishman Island. This is much safer than us recklessly sinking in."

“Fishman Island is Daddy’s territory, so it’s not surprising that we know there’s a safe passage to it,” Ace grinned.

“We will reach Fishman Island faster than pirate ships that take the usual currents,” Lucci added.

"Guys, there's something I have to tell you." Franky sat on the deck, looking at his companions gathered around him, and said with a serious expression.

Everyone turned their attention to Franky. Even Luffy, who was wolfing down his food, stopped eating and looked at Franky with a puzzled expression.

For some unknown reason, Luffy, Usopp, and Chopper excitedly approached Franky and shouted, "Are you going to tell us about the secret of the robots?!"

"No... I'm sorry, I'm sorry, it's not about that, machine."

"Wow, amazing! Robot language!!"

Lucci and Ace couldn't help but laugh at Luffy's excited expression. They both knew how excited Luffy would be to have a robot-like partner in his crew.

"I never expected that Luffy would actually find a robot as a partner." Ace shook his head and sighed with a smile.

“There are also live bones and reindeer,” Qi added.

“We shouldn’t be surprised by this,” Lucci said with a smile.

“Indeed, Luffy is Luffy,” Ace grinned. “No matter what he does, we shouldn’t be surprised by him.”

"About a year ago, the Navy discovered the Sunny, which sparked a fierce battle. Hachi and Duval fell in the fighting," Franky continued. "The reason our ship is still intact is because of Bartholomew Kuma, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, who sent us flying two years ago!"

"Bear?" Lucci and Ace exchanged a glance. Sabo had previously mentioned that Bear was his partner.

“A few days ago… when I arrived at the Sunshine, I could hardly believe my eyes. Bear was covered in wounds, but the Sunshine was completely undamaged.” Franky said solemnly, “Later I heard that Bear was a cadre of the Revolutionary Army. He helped us escape the general, and he saved us all. He also helped us protect the Sunshine.”

"Kuma is Sabo's friend." Luffy stopped eating and frowned at Franky. "Did something happen to him?"

"Although we don't know what leverage the Navy has against him, he is being gradually transformed into an artificial human as an experimental subject. He has signed a contract that completely strips away his personality," Franky continued. "It seems that he made a deal with Dr. Vegapunk, the surgeon who is modifying him, to set up a program to guard the pirate ship until the Straw Hat crew returns to their sailing ship."

"This is too reckless. Why is he helping us like this?" Zoro asked, puzzled.

Luffy turned to Lucci and asked, "Does Sabo know?"

“I don’t know,” Lucci replied, frowning. “We need to talk to Sabo about his partner.”

“The call went through,” Ace said immediately.

The Straw Hat crew watched Luffy and Lucci's conversation with confusion. Zoro and Sanji, however, realized that Sabo seemed to be Luffy's older brother, the blond man on the ship earlier. They hadn't even had a chance to get to know him before he left.

"Ace."

"Sabo, it's about Kuma, just in case you don't know." Lucci took Ace's Den Den Mushi and repeated the news Franky had just told Sabo: "He helped Luffy a lot."

"Yes, I understand." Sabo's serious voice came through the Den Den Mushi. "This news is very important to us."

"I'm glad it helped." Lucci breathed a sigh of relief. Although he didn't know how important this news was to Sabo, he hoped it could help the man who had helped Luffy but had his self-awareness stripped away by the World Government.

"Sabo, you should come with us to Fishman Island, it'll be so much fun!" Luffy shouted into the Den Den Mushi while perched on Lucci's shoulder.

“I think that would be really interesting.” Sabo’s Den Den Mushi regained its relaxed expression and said with a smile, “I’m sorry, I didn’t have time to say goodbye just now. I have a mission to complete. I’m sorry I couldn’t go to Fishman Island with you.”

"I don't think you're disappointed," Lucci retorted. "You didn't even remind me when you left!"

“I know you’d rather go to Fishman Island with Luffy,” Sabo’s smiling voice came from inside. “Sailing with Luffy would be a lot of fun.”

“It will definitely be very interesting,” Lucci said with a smile.

"Hey, Sabo!" Ace grinned and shouted into the Den Den Mushi, "See you in the New World!"

"Hahaha, that's right." Sabo grinned. "We'll meet again at the top!"

After the Den Den Mushi lowered its head, Nami finally spoke, asking what they all probably wanted to ask: "Lucci, who is that?"

“That’s Sabo, our brother, Luffy’s older brother!” Lucci said with a smile. “He’s from the Revolutionary Army.”

"Eh!?"

Lucci looked up and saw the Straw Hat crew staring at him in disbelief. A chorus of jaws dropped to the floor echoed across the deck.

"Huh?!" Usopp and Nami exclaimed in surprise. Robin, who already knew the truth, Zoro, and Sanji seemed much calmer. Franky and Brook didn't understand why everyone was so surprised, while Chopper looked around in confusion.

"Is that his brother too?" Nami asked in surprise. "How many brothers does Luffy actually have?"

“Hmm…” Lucci and Ace exchanged a glance, both of them chuckling.

"Three!" Luffy happily raised his hand, then continued stuffing the food from his bento box into his mouth.

"Are those whales?" Qi looked up at the large group of whales swimming overhead and said.

"Oh! Whitebeard Uncle!" Luffy exclaimed excitedly.

"Idiot!" Ace immediately tapped Luffy on the head. "What are you saying?"

“In a sense, Luffy wasn’t wrong,” Lucci said with a smile. “Moby’s ship’s prow is indeed a whale.”

……

The current was safe. After admiring the marine life, most of the crew chose to go into the cabin to rest. Lucci and Ace stayed outside to observe potential dangers, mainly to stop Luffy from acting recklessly, specifically to rush out and catch various fish and sea monsters.
