Chapter 1115: Chapter 1115 Marcus’ Evolution

Once Marcus, Mrazivý, and Miguel met back up with the other eleven members of their party, the eleven of them immediately departed from Houten's old capital.

They had already accomplished their goals here and knew that staying any longer would only increase tensions. While it was unlikely there was a possibility that if they stuck around that Amlodd or his supports might work up the nerve to enact "justice" on them.

Of course, this time there was no leisurely escort mission, so they all flew back to the capital cities adventurer's guild at full speed.

Within the same day their party reached the city and used the guildhall's teleportation circle to return to Borealia.

"Ah, it feels good to be home." Mrazivý said, stretching out her arms and releasing a long sigh. Discover hidden content at m,v l'e-novelhall.net

"Yes, it really is comforting." Alaric said, agreeing with the sentiment.

There truly was something constraining about being somewhere far from what you knew.

"So, what are we going to do now? Head to the castle and find out what the others found out about the demon worshiping cult? Or should we take the day to rest?" Miguel asked.

"Well, I've actually got something I need to do. And I would like Roxene, Lilia, Blitz, and Inten to accompany me." Marcus said, wearing an apologetic expression.

He had waited long enough for his evolution and wanted to get started immediately.

"Oh, you don't want your wife to accompany you. How cold. And to think I thought that you always wanted me by your side." Mrazivý said, rubbing her eyes and feigning crying.

"Come on Mraz, you know that you're going to need to report to the castle. There are duties you have to attend to as a princess, and I don't want anyone interrupting because they came looking for you. I promise, as soon as my evolution is complete, I'll make plenty of time for you."

"Okay, I'm going to hold you to that." Mrazivý said, winking coquettishly at Marcus.

After that their party separated into two groups. Those that would be returning to the castle, and those that would accompany Marcus.

"Are we not going back home?" Roxene asked walking beside Marcus down the streets of Borealia's capital.

"No, there's no telling what might happen. I want to go somewhere more secluded."

Marcus actually had a specific place in mind, but did not mention it to the others yet.

He could feel himself begin to unravel and put back together again. The experience was not nearly as painful as he had expected but was almost maddening as he constantly lost sense of himself during the process.

Time ceased to have any meaning for him, and all that remained was an unending metamorphosis.

Over and over again, he felt his soul torn apart and rearranged. Each time he felt stronger than the last, yet it never seemed to end.

Thankfully, the evolution did not go on forever.

The first sense that fully returned to Marcus was his hearing. All around him the sounds of battle reached his ears.

When he finally opened his eyes, he saw tens of thousands of creatures that resembled pure white eels with red eyes and four small claws just below their heads.

At once he recognized these monsters. He had encountered eight of them before in the Special Dungeon, Realization of Self Perfection.

'Spirit Eaters!'

Marcus watched as what appeared to be a tide of the white monsters lunge for him, only for all of them to be repelled by an iridescent barrier.

A second later a powerful blast of lightning fried hundreds of them.

'You have a new message.'

In the midst of the chaos around him, Marcus heard a familiar ding in his head to indicate he had received some sort of correspondence.

Of course he knew who it was from, as the only one that could access the Mirrion's system to contact him directly was the administrator.

Unfortunately, now was not a particularly good time to leisurely open his status and read through whatever mail he had received.

There could be no doubt that the horde of Spirit Eaters had come here because of him.

Lilia and his beast companions were all hard at work protecting him from the ravenous swarm that wanted to turn him into a meal.

Now that he was finished evolving, it was time for his first battle as Transcendent Ghost and Supreme Spirit of Light and Darkness.
