Chapter 27 Cohort

Chapter 27 Cohort

"You're Guilliman right?" The hefty man stretched his hand forward trying to shake Guilliman directly.

Guilliman of course paused, feeling a bit overwhelmed. This man stood at about 7-8 feet in the air, he looked strong yet his clothings displayed him as an extremely relaxed person. His silver hair fluttered in the wind and eyes gleamed with a strange light that pulsed with power.

'He's extremely strong'

For the first time since he came to this world, he had truly met any individual with true strength. One that eclipsed his own by miles.

"Yes, I...am" Guilliman nodded looking at the hand with a bit of confusion. Barthold had explained how inappropriate shaking Victoria was to him since her status was special.

However, here was this man much more power seemingly related to her or even more important extending his hand out to shake him.

"Yes I am" snapping out of his hesitation, Guilliman directly shook the hand of the man infront of him with determination.

"Ah I see" shaking Guillimans hand the man smiled then continued

"Strong grip, determined eyes, I see why she wants you to be part of her cohort"

"So what do you say kid?"

He smiled looking directly at Guilliman, of course, his eyes and grip had nothing to do with why us was so interesting in this kid. At first glance he seemed to be rather scrunny and dodgy.

However, when he tried to peer into his level, the interface didn't seem to work. Instead he only felt his power vaguely.

Was there anyone in the forest that could honestly hide from his gaze? What tool? What god forsaken power?

He didn't take it too seriously though, at least not to the point where he would demand to know. Maybe in time....maybe.

"Sorry what? Cohort?" Guilliman was taken aback, this was the second time he had heard those words. Did they mean something else he didn't understand?

But seeing the almost judgy look on the kids face he couldn't help but sigh and shake his head.

"Whatever, let's go" unable to say no, he finally caved in and took Guilliman through a door on the side of the courtyard which led into a small tunnel that didn't go so deep.

A mintue later they saw a light on the other end of the tunnel as they quickly emerged into a tornument style space.

It looked like a coliseum abiet being much smaller in size and grandeur.

In the middle of it....laid a beast

At first glance, Guilliman paused and went no futher. That thing was strong. Much stronger than any beast he had ever seen. That included both the sacred tortie and the black-devil mole.

'What is that thing!!'

His mind kicked into overdrive as he prepared to retreat through the long tunnel behind him. However, the old man Hamdel didn't, he simply paused and took in a large breath of air and walked forward.

Then with his hand he waved Guilliman in, showing that there was nothing to be afraid of.

Skeptical, Guilliman didn't walk forward, but a few seconds later, he overcame the sudden fear in his heart and walked forward without an ounce of it.

"That's Weiman" Hamdel pointed out at the creature infront.

Beasts were cruel unfeeling and murderous, in all intensive purposes they were the enemies of humans. However, they could also be tamed.

In certain contexts, with beasts intellegent enough one would turn it into an ally of man

This creature infront of them was a direct example of one of those beasts.

A Tamed beast
