Chapter 54 Supplies and Delivery

"I'll see you tomorrow old man"

After a long day of practice, Guilliman was finally releaved and left the old Devils office.

Unlike before, he no longer needed to stay there for days as he was already officially an inscriber and didn't need too much attention from his tutor.

"It's okay, just make sure you practice enough and make your self available early in the morning" the old man nodded. He couldn't convince the kid to stay away from the gate so he decided to let him do what he wanted.

Maybe the things he taught him would be of use in that dreadful place.

"Sure" Guilliman walked out exchanged pleasantries with the others before coming to a stop before Willy.

"You're the head inscriber right ?" Guiliman asked siting on one of the benches with his legs bearing Lu floating above the ground.

"Hmm, yes? Do you need something?" Willy smirked, it seemed like the old man finally drove the kid to the point of seeking help. He knew that old fart couldn't hold down a desciple. He would have a better time holding in a fart!!

"Glad you asked....the old man won't let me learn other inscription types yet, but I'll be heading to the gate in around 4 days....would you mind costume making some daggers for me?"

He needed every tool he could get his hands on for combat purposes. The inside of the gate would usually be lands far away from humanity and would be crawling with beasts. He needed a variety of ways to defend himself.

"Uhhh, i don't mind. I'll even give you a discount kid " in as much as the old man painted them as jealous, they were actually happy for him and his new apprentice.

It would be a shame if the old devil didn't passed down his inscriptions to the younger generation before dying. In fact it would be a tragedy for the shelter as a whole.

"Good, this is what I need" Guilliman proceeded to explain everything he needed in great detail. Even though they might not be as useful as his beast Echoes they would help out a lot, paying was not a problem either.

He wasn't exactly rich, but after the gate? He might very well become rich...or dead.

"Sigh, there's nothing we can do, if you want a steady supply you'll have to pay the market price" one of the shop attendants said forcing Guilliman to frown.

Eventually though he gave in.

If these were the prices, he could only imagine the price for buying weapons and getting them inscribed by private inscribers. Thank the heavens he knew Willy on a personal level.

Packing up supplies, from shop to shop Guiliman felt his pocket run dry. He watched all his hard earn money flow down the drain and he was the one putting it in.

After a while, he went to a fountain in the middle of the market and set aside the things he bought, carefully scrutinizing them.

He didn't want to spend a dime on defective supplies. Most especially the water purifier he bought from that Shady old hag.

Lucky, everything worked fine resulting in a wide smile appearing on his face.

While he stared at the supplies infront of him though an old man with wrinkly skin and white hair appeared right beside him and sniffed in his direction.

"Hm?" Guilliman was taken aback as he looked at the old man with an expression of confusion

That was when the old man spoke,

"Are you the kid? Where's the stone? How much Milk-wine do you want for it?" The old man confirming his target spoke hurriedly, with a sense of desperation in his tone.

After a few awkward seconds of staring at each other. Guilliman soon came to a realization, as some words replayed in his mind.

"He will find you"

These were the words of Victorias father mr Silvertein. And this wrinkled old man infront of him was the person he had sent him to meet.
