Chapter 58 Dangers Of The Gate

Seferal Ferocious roars resounded in the middle of a vast expanse of rock and cracked soil and dust. The area was hot and tense, with numerous beasts lurking in the shadows of mountain structure all around.

In this world beast were classified into several tiers,

Ordinary, Mutant, Sacred, Grand, Mythic and Wayfarer, each several times as dangerous as the last. And in this vast expanse there seemed to be no limit on what kind of monsters stretched along the expanse.

In fact, every single tier was available in the abundance, just by looking to the left they could see several Sacred and grand beasts that would otherwise be hard to find in the Blacksteel shelter.

"This is just disappointing" one of the many members of the caravan, a man with a furry hide over his body shook his head looking at the beast littered all over.

Unlike the shelter, everything in the vast expanse of the unknown was fair game. There were no restrictions whatsoever. So he as a Slayer capped at Yellow could go after as many Sacred beasts as he wanted.

Just the thought of the number of echoes he would get from this large collection was nerve wracking.

But, he had to take into account every other beast in-between. Attacking a sacred beast would be fun if the grand beasts lurking around wouldn't constantly stalk him.

Worse case he would get mauled by a mythic creature.

'Better stay in one place' the man shook his head, he didn't want to die now, staying close to the wayfarer was the only way.

"How long are we from the gate?"

In a completely different part of the caravan, a young lady asked while seated atop a griffin like creature with metallic feet and claws.

Mr Silverstein had handed over his beast Weiman to Victoria as a guardian during their journey to the gate. It couldn't pass through the gate though, so that was about all it would be able to help with.

"Hahaha, yes you're right, we have big brother Dorn on our side" Thane laughed loudly, so much so that others in the surroundings couldn't help but look over.

Thane looked very confident and his laughter was assuring to those who were feeling doubts in their hearts.

"Yeah, we have the hero Dorn on our side!!"

Before they knew it, morale was risen just by a few words, even Dorn didn't know what happened but the gaze of these guys were making him extremely uncomfortable.

Hours passed and soon the came infront of a slope that went downwards into a basin.

"Lord Nightmare, We need save passage" At the forefront of the caravan, Dorn patted the back of the Wayfarer Wolf.

Down in the basin surrounding the gate were several grand beasts and five mythic ones. They had been drawn in by the enery pulsating from the gate.

"Everyone, break into companies with a blacksteel as the lead. We need to secure this place first before entering" Dorn commanded the members of the caravan.

They needed to cleanly sweep the surrounding of monsters before entering so as to fortify it for their eventual exist.

If they didnt? Well, coming back to a horde of monsters would not be a fun to say the very least.

So immediately the thousand slayers separated into companies of a hundred and groups of 10.

They then surrounded the basin in a circle before descending with swift force, each company challenging either a grand beast or a mythic one.

Unfortunately for the company which Guilliman and Victoria belong to they would be going up against a mythic beast all thanks to the powerful thane and his little sister viper.

They didn't complain though as they swiftly cut into the hoard of beasts with their beast echoes summoned.
