Chapter 62 RavensKeep
Chapter 62 RavensKeep
In the crowd of around a thousand slayer, Guilliman and the rest were squeezed in like pancakes as they slowly marched through the gates.
No one was to be left behind or maybe even waste time, they had to go in full force so no one got cold feet and decided not to go.
They needed all the slayers they could get incase they were walking into a horde on the other side.
Luckily enough though, as they passed through
The warm embrace of the gate to the other side there was no sign of trouble. And errie calm permeated the atmosphere.
"Hmm, it's not that bad" Guiliman muttered, they were atop a small flat headed hill facing down at a large expanse of land, already small pockets of slayers were forming as friends and allies spoke causally to each other.
It seemed like the gate was positioned in a rather safe place.
"You guys..." turning around to see the rest of the cohort, Guillimans surprised and satisfied look froze gradually turning into frown.
Victoria and the rest seemed stunned and a hint of fear could be seen in jemies eyes. Quickly scanning his surroundings he noticed the same sentiment amongst a very select few of slayers.
The nobles,
The all looked freaked out and down right grim.
"What's going on" Guilliman approached Victoria and traced her line of sight.
A distance away, in a massive forest, there stood a castle like structure surrounded by dark grim woods that sent shivers down his spine.
But this couldn't be the reason they were acting like this right? No it couldn't be.
"That's Ravenskeep" Victoria muttered a feeling a dread echoed in her tone, what followed shook Guilliman to his core.
"We need to get out of here!!"
"Shit, the fucking gate won't let us through"
There was no going back, humans could pass through the gate to hunt but they could not go back until the hallow beast activates the gate from this side.
It was a painful, yet very real Reality.
"Don't be too worried though, from what brother Dorn has inferred the horde of yesteryear has all but dispersed, what remains is the reminants of its forces, you guys can pick them off one by one if you want to"
Thane understood how majority of them would be feeling, blind sided, tricked and purposely put in danger. This yellow classification of the gate was obviously wrong.
This was a red Gate or maybe even higher, they were not equipped to handle such a thing.
"You don't need to be worried about us thane, we will manage" Victoria shook her head.
She seemed confident on the outside, but inside she really felt helpless, she had been in a few extremely
Disadvantageous situations, but this one was something else, would they all be able to survive?
She couldn't say this out loud though, she was more worried about thane, this kid was running towards the source of this whole thing.
His chances of dying were way higher than theirs.
"I know you will princess, just survive...we will be back in no time" glancing at the shiloutte of dorn in the distance, thane said calmly.
Dorn was waiting for him,
"One last thing....youre better off trusting a beast in here than the nobles, keep them at arms length" thane didnt hold back, he cared more about his friends than he need for decorum.
Before their very eyes, the troop of the Blacksteel families rode down hill unimpedened.
As soon as they left though, the noble clans formed several groups and walked off slowly coming down from the hill slopes,
Just like thane predicted, the moment the glue that had held the nobles together disappeared, they all scattered into the wind.
This would sooner develop into a dog eat dog society, he could feel it in his very bones
