The conversation between Nick Fury and Kagura Hitomi went smoothly, mostly because she already had a rough idea of what the "Avengers Initiative" was all about.
After all, supporting something like the Avengers was easy enough.
For Nick Fury, today was the happiest day since 1995, the day Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) left Earth.
Finally, Earth had a hero with "superpowers" like Carol once had. And, this girl was soft, pure-hearted, kind, and had no bad habits—at least, that's what the report said.
Fury gave a confident smile.
This girl might just become a key member of the Avengers.@@@@
Of course, the "Avengers Initiative" was still in its infancy.
The planning was mostly conceptual, and Fury and Hitomi's conversation mainly focused on the idea and alignment of their goals.
Joining the Avengers didn't require any contracts or registration yet—Fury just wanted to gather a group of capable individuals to handle emergencies.
However, there was still one thing Kagura Hitomi didn't quite understand.

The Avengers were a loose group—calling it a "league" was misleading.
It was more like a "phone book," with core members often absent, internal conflicts, and even occasional infighting.
In her opinion, if it were to be renamed, something like "Tony Stark's Emergency Memo" would be more fitting.
Looking at how things were shaping up in the MCU, with Captain America and his partner running off, Thor and Captain Marvel off in space, Hulk running away on a plane, Hawkeye under house arrest, and Black Widow more of a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent... it seemed that Tony Stark was the only reliable long-term member. Maybe, it wasn't such a bad idea to create her own superhero organization for global emergency defense?
But, all of that was still too far away. Hitomi pushed the task notification aside for now.
On the way back home, Kagura Hitomi and Natasha Romanoff started talking.
"Sister Natalie, are you a member of the Avengers Initiative too?"
"Haha, no, I wouldn't say so," Natasha shook her head.
"Not everyone's past is so easy to let go of, Hitomi," Natasha replied.
"There are some things you have to carry with you forever, and some people will never be 'good.'"
"Even if you can't be a 'good person' for various reasons, you can still choose to be a hero, Sister" Hitomi said.
"This world might not always need good people, but it will always need heroes."
"Wow," Natasha was a bit surprised.
"I didn't expect you to be so eloquent."
"Hehe," Hitomi stuck out her tongue playfully. "Just speaking from the heart."
Before long, Natasha returned Hitomi to Tony Stark's mansion.
As the bike came to a stop, the two women elegantly dismounted, one after the other.
"Home sweet home. My job here is done. See you, Hitomi," Natasha said.
"Thanks for everything, Sister," Hitomi bowed slightly.
"I think Director Fury must have his reasons for keeping you around and making you responsible for the Avengers Initiative. You're certainly qualified to be called a 'hero.'"
"Mm." Natasha nodded.
"I'll remember your words, Hitomi."
With that, Natasha climbed back onto her bike and drove off into the night.
Ah...
A red-haired beauty in tight gear riding a motorcycle.
So cool...
Hitomi watched Natasha's retreating figure, still deep in thought about "good people" and "heroes."
By the way, if she were to form her own superhero organization...
