Chapter 100 100: Shadow Leap!
Chapter 100 100: Shadow Leap!
In Tristan's hand was a skill book.
[Shadow Leap (Gold Grade): Active Skill, removes restrictions and leaps to the target's shadow, maximum distance: 100 meters, consumes 50 mana, cooldown: 30 seconds.**
[Special Trait: No Trace]: After using the skill, the user enters Stealth mode.
The strength of this skill made Tristan pause in admiration.
Not only was this a movement skill, but it was also an extremely rare control-removal skill.
According to Tristan's experience, the "removes restrictions" feature could dispel various control effects, including but not limited to freezing, dizziness, and slowing.
On top of that, Shadow Leap also had the Stealth effect.
While Shadow Stealth was on cooldown, this skill could act as an emergency measure.
Obtaining this skill took Tristan's survivability to a whole new level.
And this was exactly what he needed.
Because he didn't lack damage.
After unexpectedly receiving the Deathbringer gift and leveling up his Sniper God talent to LV2, his damage output had already exceeded the average player's expectations.
Moreover, Tristan had been looking for an opportunity to replace his Bone-Cutting Twin Daggers with something that provided even higher damage.
He hadn't had the chance until now, but with Shadow Leap in hand, the prerequisites had finally been met.
However, since he didn't currently need more damage in his battles, he decided to keep the twin daggers equipped until a better option came along.
After all, the Black Tide Poison Dagger was still in his backpack—he could switch it out anytime.
Shaking off his thoughts, Tristan looked at the data again, his expression filled with satisfaction.
"It was worth all those thousand attempts in that broken place," he muttered.
Shadow Leap was undoubtedly a god-tier skill—no question about it.
It allowed him to move up to 100 meters with a short cooldown, instantly surpassing Blink by miles.
Of course, if one had to find a downside, it was that Shadow Leap required a shadow at the target location.
But this was no obstacle for Tristan.
During his trial, he had already successfully used Rain of Corruption to create shadows for movement.
He could use the same trick in future battles.
Besides, finding a place with no shadow was as hard as getting legendary gear.
The simplest example: the shadow was always behind the enemy.
Tristan was known for his high ranged damage, but he didn't mind close-range assassinations either.
His fighting style was always flexible.
As he absorbed the information from the skill book, Tristan remembered something.
What time was it?
...
"Whoa... what the hell..."
A startled cry rang out from the air.
A player, in the middle of a battle with a bear monster, looked up to see a small dot rapidly enlarging above him.
In the blink of an eye, the dot became clearer—an unmistakable human figure.
"Why is a person falling from the sky?"
The player thought, just before the falling figure slammed directly into the bear monster, instantly depleting its health.
"What kind of messed-up temple is this? Why would the teleportation location be in mid-air? Is this even safe? Aren't you worried about dropping your precious heir to their death?!"
Tristan had just been wondering how to leave the temple, and in the blink of an eye, the teleportation array sent him straight into the air, into a free fall.
If it weren't for the unlucky bear monster breaking his fall, he would have activated Shadow Leap.
He grumbled a few choice words at the teleportation array designers and got to his feet, brushing off the dust.
Looking around at the stunned player beside him, he asked, "Hey, buddy, where am I?"
The player looked around, then pointed at himself with a pale hand and asked, confused, "Are you asking me?"
The voice was clear, but it was unmistakably male, not female.
Tristan froze.
Had he misjudged?
The player in front of him had a delicate face, fair skin, bright, glossy black eyes, and eyebrows that arched like willow leaves. With short, ear-length hair, he was the picture of a perfect neighborhood girl-next-door.
But the slightly prominent Adam's apple confirmed that this was, indeed, a guy.
"Uh, my bad," Tristan quickly corrected himself. "Bro, where am I?"
Glancing at the player's in-game name, "NightStalker," Tristan instantly understood.
No wonder he had gotten it wrong.
NightStalker was a famous player in the previous life, ranking in the top 100 globally. While he was not quite on Tristan's level, he was still very impressive.
But what most people remembered about him wasn't his skill—it was his looks.
To put it simply, he was a "pretty boy."
He became known as the "cute guy" of the gaming world.
He even wore a mask to avoid being harassed, but despite that, he still attracted a fan following.
Lost in thought, NightStalker spoke up. "This is the north side of Davi City."
Tristan sighed with relief. At least he hadn't been teleported to some weird place.
Davi City's north side, with bear monsters, meant he knew exactly where he was.
He cupped his hands in gratitude and said, "Thanks, man. I've got to go now."
Just as he was about to leave, NightStalker called out, "Blackshade, can we be friends?"
