Chapter 134 134: Let's Give It a Try
Chapter 134 134: Let's Give It a Try
After Tristan casually threw a Shadow Dagger and instantly took down the Gold Grade Goblin Lumberjack Mech, it felt completely normal to him. But for his four teammates, it was nothing short of shocking.
DarkStriker muttered to himself, "I thought the 110,000 damage I did to those small monsters was the limit. Turns out, it wasn't even close."
NightStalker continued, "I was still figuring out how to chain my skills for seamless control, but he just steps in and ends the battle with a single move."
GemmaS calculated for a moment, then concluded, "Even if I manage to create the Destroyer, it still wouldn't be a match for the Guild Leader."
Manalady didn't say anything, but the admiration in her eyes was impossible to hide. No wonder he was considered the best in the entire server—he was truly powerful.
Tristan, with his usual humility, smiled. "You guys are exaggerating. I still have a long way to go."
He was serious when he said it. After all, he was only level 20, with his best equipment being Dark Gold Grade, and his talent skills were still far from maxed out.
Take his talent, for example—his LV2 Sniper God was nowhere near its full potential. Just a few more levels could significantly increase his damage output.
And Tristan's goal wasn't just to be the best in the server—it was to challenge the gods themselves!
As for what might come after the Day of the Gods' Descent, that was still a mystery.
Given this, Tristan couldn't afford to be complacent.
For GemmaS and the others, however, it was his frankness that stung the most. They considered themselves to be among the best players out there, and in many places, they'd be considered big shots. But here, in front of Blackshade, they felt like absolute rookies.
It was absurd.
GemmaS quickly adjusted her mindset, a smile forming on her face as she said, "On the bright side, with such a powerful Guild Leader, our Pinnacle Guild is bound to live up to its name and become the true ExoGenesis Pinnacle!"
Her words energized NightStalker and the others.
Indeed, they didn't need to worry too much. Blackshade was one of a kind, and in the entire server—or even the world—no one could reach his level. Everyone else would have to take a step back.
DarkStriker, another Assassin, quietly thought, "I had a feeling Blackshade's damage comes mostly from his Breaking Stealth Strike. That's part of his class features. My class, on the other hand, builds up damage with movement, and I have more skills for repositioning. So in this regard, Blackshade can't match me."
That thought brought DarkStriker some comfort.
It was either that, or he'd be tempted to delete his account.
If only DarkStriker knew Ghostblade, the Assassin from Drake's squad, or PiercingHawk the sharpshooter—they'd surely feel a mutual sense of admiration.
As the conversation lulled, GemmaS spoke up again. "Guild Leader, come take a look at the loot. You did most of the work, so it's only fair you get to distribute the rewards."
DarkStriker nodded in agreement. "I didn't contribute much and still got a good chunk of experience. There's no reason for me to take any equipment."
A single-handed hammer, shaped somewhat like a ram's horn, which seemed to be a tool the Goblin Lumberjack Mech driver carried with him.
For a mech driver, carrying a hammer like this was perfectly normal.
However, Tristan and DarkStriker were both Assassins, and hammers weren't exactly their go-to weapon. GemmaS was a mechanical engineer, preferring automatic pistols, and Manalady, being a mage, had no use for a hammer either.
Tristan looked over at NightStalker.
NightStalker immediately waved his hands. "Boss, my class only allows sword and shield. I can't use a single-handed hammer."
The others exchanged glances.
Tristan hadn't expected that a Gold Grade piece of equipment would be completely useless to the group, which was a little awkward. He could only stash the hammer in his bag and sell it later when the opportunity arose.
Despite no one being able to use it, the hammer's stats were impressive. Its special stun effect would be a game-changer in PvP. If it triggered, the enemy would have a hard time.
Leaving the first boss's area, the team continued their journey.
Tristan led the way, mowing down everything in his path. The team members were so relaxed, they could probably have started a game of Mahjong.
They all wanted to fight, but Tristan politely refused, saying they were too slow.
This wasn't exactly a hard sell. While their damage wasn't bad, compared to the Guild Leader, it was laughable.
Tristan could clear a wave of monsters with a single skill in a second. For them, it would take at least half a minute.
Yeah, they were way too slow.
As they breezed through the dungeon, GemmaS and the others leveled up. The experience from the Nightmare Difficulty dungeon was insanely generous.
Tristan checked his experience bar—it was already past halfway. By the end of the dungeon, he would definitely level up, and if the dungeon was big enough, he might even level up twice.
That wasn't likely, but still.
With such relaxed progress, the team quickly arrived at the second boss. Stay tuned to My Virtual Library Empire
This time, it was a goblin carrying a rocket backpack and wielding a flamethrower.
Tristan calculated the distance and was about to enter Stealth, but NightStalker suddenly spoke up. "Boss, I know you're eager, but hold on! Let us give it a try first."
DarkStriker volunteered as well. "You've been carrying us so far, take a rest. If we can't handle it, we'll let you take over."
Tristan almost said that he hadn't even broken a sweat, but seeing his teammates so eager to give it a shot, he agreed without a second thought. "Alright, let's see what you can do. I'll stand by and watch."
