Su Mu stared at the bone-like object in his hand, lost in thought.
“The Anti-Evil Crossbow can really increase the drop rate of these items. Is it because of the purifying effect of the crossbow?
“Enemies hit by the crossbow bolts are directly purified. So the loot will drop more often.”
After stepping out of the shelter, Su Mu encountered three Skeleton Dogs. However, Su Mu didn’t even step out of the protective shield. The three Skeleton Dogs bit the shield without causing any damage. They also became easy targets for Su Mu to shoot and kill one by one.
The Skeleton Dogs that the system rated as novice killers were nothing special. Of the three Skeleton Dogs, Su Mu killed two of them with a single arrow. The remaining Skeleton Dog seemed to be injured even before it attacked Su Mu.
Not wanting to waste a crossbow bolt, Su Mu picked up a brick and smashed the Skeleton Dog’s skull. Only a piece of Purified Bone fell from the Skeleton Dog. If he had used a crossbow bolt to kill it instantly, it would have dropped four or five pieces.
“The purifying effect actually has additional hidden attributes. This is a pleasant surprise.”
Su Mu happily put the loot into his system backpack. Then he looked at his personal information.

Huh? It seems like I’ve leveled up a bit.
Using the flames from the purifying crossbow, Su Mu lit the firewood and began to make the soup. Unlike the ugly appearance of the Skeleton Dogs, the bones they dropped made a delicious broth.
Delicious.
Su Mu took a sip and felt the warmth spread through his body. In this world, the sun was almost grey, providing light but little warmth. Enjoying a bowl of bone soup in this ashen world was quite a treat.
Just then, the protective shield of the dwelling was breached again. The smell of bone broth wafted through the window of the shelter. A Skeleton Dog, unable to resist, charged directly at Su Mu.
“Awooo! Awooo!”
Although the Skeleton Dog had no expression, its growl indicated that it was very angry. After all, there was a human in the shelter who was using the bones of his companions to make soup.
The Skeleton Dog even seemed to be considering calling his companions to join him in attacking the human inside the shelter.
This was the first time Su Mu had heard the Skeleton Dog’s howl. It made him curious; he had thought that these Skeleton Dogs were just undead creatures.
But from the sound, it seemed like they had some kind of soul?
However, Su Mu couldn’t understand the Skeleton Dog’s language and had no intention of communicating with it.
“Do you want a taste? Sorry, none for you.”
With that, Su Mu aimed his Anti-Evil Crossbow. The howling Skeleton Dog quickly transformed into Purified Bones, dropping five pieces.
“Why bother me while I’m eating? Now you even come over to give me an extra meal.”
Su Mu went over and picked up the loot. As he collected the items, he felt his strength increase slightly again. When he opened the system panel, he noticed that his personal information had changed once again.
