Chapter 811: "Confronting The Kryptonians"

Chapter 811: "Confronting The Kryptonians"Half an hour later, Jerry and Clark were taken to the rendezvous point agreed upon by the human government and Zod, a vast wasteland a hundred miles from Metropolis.

The area was heavily fortified with a large number of combat troops, tanks, missiles, rocket launchers, fighter jets, and combat helicopters.

While the human government hoped to use Clark to broker peace, they weren't naive enough to trust Zod completely. They prepared for battle in case Zod decided to double-cross them.

Jerry, observing the amassed firepower, shook his head. He knew the technological gap between the two civilizations was too great.

As a Kryptonian civilization that once conquered much of the universe, Zod and his forces could obliterate all human resistance with their physical prowess alone, even without advanced weaponry.

The exchange was solely focused on Clark. If General Swanwick, who was secretly the Martian Manhunter, decided to intervene, he could potentially stall Zod's forces.

However, Swanwick was notoriously cautious. In the movie, he refrained from action even when Metropolis faced destruction. Only after Steppenwolf's defeat and the impending arrival of Darkseid did he reveal himself and join the Justice League.

"We're here!" Jerry and Clark looked up simultaneously.

A small black dot in the sky rapidly grew larger until a small Kryptonian spaceship resembling a beetle landed in the open space in front of the human army's defensive line.

Two Kryptonians in black biochemical armored combat suits emerged from the ship. Leading them was a female Kryptonian. She opened her mechanical visor, revealing the energy shield inside, and approached Clark, who was clad in the El family's battle suit. She scrutinized him and said, "Kal-El, I am Deputy Commander Faora-Ul. On behalf of General Zod, I welcome you. Please follow me."

Without acknowledging the human army, Faora turned and led the soldiers back toward the spaceship. Clark glanced at Jerry and followed her silently. Jerry stepped forward to walk alongside him.

At the spaceship's entrance, Faora noticed Jerry standing next to Clark and frowned. "Who are you? We only need Kal-El, not the humans of Earth."

"I'm Jerry, Kal's best friend on Earth," Jerry replied with a shrug and a smile. "Kal asked me to accompany him. We Earthlings like to do things together—smoking, drinking, you know, even peeing and pooping together. Don't you aliens do the same?"

Faora turned to Clark for confirmation. Clark's mouth twitched before he nodded firmly. "Yes, if you don't let Jerry accompany me, I'll leave immediately. You know those human armies can't stop me. I'm willing to meet Zod because I want to know what he wants."

"Humans are indeed a weak species," Faora sneered at Jerry, but then she received an order through her battle suit. She turned back to Clark and said, "General Zod says he can come with you."

Jerry and Clark boarded the Kryptonian spaceship, stepping into an advanced alien environment.@@@@

Despite the tense atmosphere, Jerry couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and apprehension.

He knew they were walking into a potential trap, but he was prepared to face whatever challenges lay ahead alongside his friend.

Jerry shrugged. "Maybe I have a strong adaptability since childhood."

Zod asked Jerry in confusion, "What do you even mean by that?"

Instead of letting them chat further, Clark stood up and glared at Zod.

"What is your purpose in coming to Earth?" Clark, now recovered, asked Zod.

Zod who was no longer concerned about Jerry's ability to adapt, he turned to Clark and answered without hesitation, "Krypton has been destroyed. We are the last Kryptonians in the universe. Jor-El gave you the Codex, which contains all our people's genetic templates. Now, give it to me so I can rebuild our civilization."

"How do you plan to rebuild the Kryptonian civilization?" Clark asked, wary.

Zod pointed to Earth, which was visible from the battleship. "By destroying the civilization of this planet, transforming it into Krypton, and using the Codex to create new Kryptonians. Kal, you are a Kryptonian too. You have a responsibility to help us rebuild our civilization!"

"My father told me that Kryptonian civilization went astray, that it was wrong, and shouldn't be rebuilt. I won't let you destroy Earth," Clark replied firmly, unmoved by Zod's persuasion.

Zod's face darkened. "Your father was a fool! Krypton will rise again, even if it means the extinction of humanity. Our people need a new home, and Earth will serve that purpose."

Clark stepped forward, his eyes blazing with determination. "I won't let you harm the people of Earth. This is my home now, and I will protect it. And keep my father's name out of your mouth! He was not wrong about you!"

Tension filled the room as Clark and Zod stared each other down. Jerry, sensing the impending conflict, prepared himself.

He knew that this confrontation would decide the fate of both Earth and the last remnants of Krypton. As the seconds ticked by, the future of two civilizations hung in the balance, teetering on the edge of war.

"As stupid as your father, in this case, I can only force you to tell me the whereabouts of the codex." Hearing Clark's answer, Zod's face turned cold, and he was ready to order his men to use force to force Clark to hand over the Codex.
