Chapter 134 Unexpected situation
Chapter 134 Unexpected situation
As Matthew left the Potions teacher's office, the entire office became completely quiet.
Except for the pieces of "mess" left around the two round tables due to the banquet.
However, Professor Horace Slughorn was in no rush to pack his things.
In fact, Slughorn, who was still smiling and looking vaguely scared before, suddenly changed his whole look.
He sat there with an extremely cold expression, and even the air began to be filled with a heavy and depressing aura.
It was as if the smile and fear before were just disguised on purpose.
Slughorn seemed to think for a while. Finally, he took out a piece of parchment and dipped his quill in ink.
Lowering his head, he began to record something bit by bit.
Throughout the office, there was only the sound of rustling parchment.
After the sound lasted for almost a quarter of an hour, Slughorn finally put down the quill in his hand and breathed a long sigh of relief.
He put the parchment into the envelope and sealed the envelope completely.
Then, he rummaged through his pocket for a while, and finally pulled out a weird-looking "lighter"-like object.
The nozzle of the lighter is crooked, like a spreading snake; in addition, the outer shell of the lighter seems to be engraved with a crooked snake pattern.
Slughorn just turned the lighter slightly, and the light green flame suddenly burned in front of him.
This light green flame really looks a bit weird.
Without hesitation, Slughorn stretched out the envelope and the parchment inside.
With a bright fire, the entire "letter" burned violently.
Soon, it burned cleanly, leaving nothing behind, not even a trace of dust.
A smile finally appeared on the corner of Horace Slughorn's mouth.
Then he stretched lazily, then lay down comfortably on the recliner, and began to continue "enjoying life" as usual.
As for Matthew, he was on his way back to the Slytherin common room from Professor Slughorn's office.
It was getting late, it was completely dark, and you could vaguely see the green moon outside the window, embedded in the black screen-like night sky.
Except for the moonlight, the basement corridors of Hogwarts were almost completely dark.
Although it is not yet to the point where I can't see my fingers, because the torches on the wall are still emitting a faint light.
Matthew walked slowly, his expression a little stern.
In his mind, he was still thinking about what Professor Horace Slughorn, the Head of Slytherin and Potions teacher, told him a few minutes ago.
"Could it be that there really is a powerful soul attached to him?" Matthew murmured to himself.
Just as he was about to pass a corner ahead, he suddenly heard a rush of footsteps coming from the other side.
Along with the footsteps, there was also a somewhat weird sound.
It's like a person hoarsely asking for help from others.
Matthew's expression changed slightly. He took a few steps back, and at the same time pulled out his wand and pointed it at the corner ahead.
Just a few seconds later, a twisted face stretched out from the other side of the corner.
Under the dim light of the torch, you can see that this face is extremely red.
The man was crooked, as if he couldn't even walk, and he came over from the other side of the corner with great difficulty.
"Delix" Then, a familiar voice suddenly sounded.
It was Mr. Frank Longbottom, Neville Longbottom's father, and he was just behind the previous man, at least not far away.
Matthew was finally able to recognize that person from that weird face:
He is an Auror Lux who is also stationed at Hogwarts like Mr. Longbottom. Aurors are often around Hogwarts, at least in the Great Hall during meal times.
Mr. Longbottom turned around and glanced at Matthew: "Oh, kid, I didn't scare you."
Delis collapsed on Mr. Longbottom, snoring slightly at the same time.
"Delix has been fond of drinking recently and often gets himself drunk alone," Mr. Longbottom explained to Matthew while carrying him.
"Oh," Matthew nodded, "It's nothing."
"I remember you, you are Matthew Wakefield, right?" Mr. Longbottom looked at Matthew carefully and quickly recognized him: "You are Neville's good friend."
"Yeah" Matthew nodded again, "Neville is my best friend."
"Go back quickly." Mr. Longbottom pointed to the road behind him. "It's getting very late, and the lights will be turned off soon."
"Ok"
Matthew hurriedly passed by the two Aurors. He had not taken a few steps and had not yet completely walked out of the corridor.
The footsteps of Mr. Delis and Longbottom sounded from behind again.
Then there was the slightly weird sound.
It wasn't until he returned to the Slytherin common room and felt the warmth of the burning fire that Matthew relaxed a little.
I have to say that there were quite a lot of "unexpected situations" I encountered tonight.
Matthew went straight back to his dormitory.
But when he opened the door, he found it was empty.
Except for the injured Draco Malfoy, the rest of Nott, Crabbe and Goyle were not in the room, and they didn't know what they were doing.
This is somewhat rare. After all, it's getting late now and it's almost time to turn off the lights.
And, if you think about it carefully, something seems a little wrong.
Matthew frowned slightly.
But now I need to confirm one thing.
He sat on his soft armchair. After hesitating for a moment, he gently opened the drawer.
In the drawer, the ancient, mysterious and familiar book was still lying there quietly.
Matthew took it out and slowly opened it.
The pages of the book are slightly hot.
Turning to one of the blank pages, Matthew picked up a quill pen on the table, dipped it in ink, and wrote on the page:
"You did it"
The ink shined brightly on the paper for almost a second, then seemed to be sucked into the paper and disappeared without a trace.
Then, a little bit of ink seeped out of the paper, and finally formed a line of crooked, green writing:
"yes"
Matthew couldn't help but frowned.
He further wrote:
"Why did you control me to attack Draco Malfoy?"
And soon, the book gave him a reply:
"Because he deserves to die"
