Chapter 286 Day off
"Good morning, Professor Snape."
At the entrance of Hogwarts Castle in the early morning, Hero, dressed in a black and red robe, nodded to a man also dressed in a black robe who came out.
"Good morning, Professor Rozier." Snape nodded noncommittally. "You're certainly on time today."
"Being punctual is a good habit, isn't it?" Hilo said casually, "especially when going out to buy potion ingredients."
Since learning that Loira had not betrayed Lord Grindelwald, Shiloh's life has become much easier. Before, she had to constantly investigate Miss Hamilton, but now she can simply keep her distance.
Even keeping as far away as possible was best—although Heero was actually quite curious about this Miss Hamilton. She was curious why such a powerful wizard was like this, why such a powerful wizard could delay Lord Grindelwald's mission for so long, and what this lazy young lady was thinking every day—
Well, actually the answers to these questions aren't too difficult.
Hilo shook her head, trying to stop thinking about all this nonsense. Today was a day for her to relax a little, as she was going to Hogsmeade with Professor Severus Snape to buy potion ingredients.
Since winter arrived, Hilo's two hobbies have been reduced to only one, since melting ice is quite difficult, so she has to make magic potions every day.
Professor Snape happened to share this hobby, so she spent almost all of the last few days with Snape making potions, aside from the occasional work.
Professor Snape was a genius in potions, and even though Heero thought he was very good at potions, he was still far inferior to him.
If only we could win him over to Lord Grindelwald's side—but looking at his greasy hair, Shiloh thought it would be more important for him to learn how to wash his hair properly before officially joining.
But this seems a bit difficult, since she had asked Snape the same question before and received an unfriendly answer.
"You'd be better off focusing on your favorite Miss Hamilton."
Shiloh had to deny that she liked Miss Hamilton.
"Today we're going to brew a bottle of Felix Felicis," Snape said as they walked. "This is Headmaster Dumbledore's task."
"Isn't this your task?" Shiloh asked slowly. If she remembered correctly, Dumbledore had said that it was provided by Professor Snape.
"Because someone is always using my equipment, my medicines, my instruments." Snape glanced at her. "Doesn't that person deserve compensation?"
Ah—so they were talking about me—
Hilo nodded: "I understand."
"But I'm not very good at it."
"It's alright," Snape shrugged. "I'm not very good at it either."
"Fortunately, we have the best teacher—a potions book, don't we?" he said, emphasizing each word. "Even if we have to follow it word by word, we will still make Felix Felicis."
"I see—" Hilo nodded thoughtfully. She hadn't made Felix Felicis many times, after all, it was a very difficult potion with very complicated ingredients.
She only made it during her student days, and the finished product was knocked over by some random little animal.
Fortunately, she eventually found the cat, which is now serving Lord Grindelwald at the Rozier family manor.
Seeing that Hero had stopped speaking, Snape also fell silent. The two walked side by side on the road leading to Hogsmeade, and every student who saw them subconsciously made way for them and lowered their heads.
After all, one of them was known for making things difficult, while the other was so cold that it was a little scary.
In a way, it's quite reasonable for them to become friends.
As they walked, Snape seemed to remember something and suddenly asked, "Did you know Miss Hamilton before?"
"I don't know him." Shiloh paused for a moment and said slowly, then looked at Snape with a hint of wariness in her eyes.
Was Dumbledore spying on him? Or did he have ulterior motives? Whatever the reason, it was enough to make Heero cautious.
"Why ask that question?" she asked directly.
"Hmm—" Snape glanced at her with a hint of surprise, then slowly said, "It's nothing."
"I just thought you knew that magic array too."
"————" Shiloh was silent for a few seconds, looking at Snape thoughtfully, until she saw his cold eyes before looking away.
"Is your necklace a magic array item?" she asked slowly.
"Hmm." Snape nodded. "I thought you really knew nothing about magic circles."
"I've attended a few classes," Shiloh explained, "but I know absolutely nothing about the production process."
"So what happened to your necklace?"
"Do you have so many questions?" Snape scoffed. "Or are you Rozier still living in the era of the Mutualists?"
"Just out of curiosity."
Besides, it really is a time when we lived.
Hilo blinked her purple eyes: "After all, you don't seem like the type of person who likes to wear jewelry."
"Heh, that's true." Snape chuckled, seemingly because he was in a good mood lately, or perhaps because he thought Shiloh could offer some help.
Therefore, he slowly said, "I am not very pleased with the creation of this magic circle prop by the somewhat naive and innocent Miss Hamilton."
"So I hope someone can make some improvements."
"An improvement?" Hilo raised an eyebrow. "This is a magic array that can predict the weather, right?"
"That's right."
"Then what should we improve?" Shiloh frowned and thought for a moment. "It can't be something as boring as colors, can it?"
"————" Snape looked at her silently, which made her raise an eyebrow.
"Why didn't you just go to Miss Hamilton?" In the awkward silence, Shiloh slowly asked.
"That's none of your business." Snape's good mood seemed to have vanished, and he changed the subject: "Our current task should be about Felix Felicis—"
"Tsk—" He suddenly frowned and clicked his tongue, as if he had seen something that disgusted him.
Hilo followed his gaze and then clicked her tongue.
This is the reaction to seeing rice weevils.
"What a fine mood you're in." Snape walked up almost immediately, then scoffed, "While all the other professors are working."
"Did someone choose to hang out with the students?"
"Ah—Professor Snape." The lazybones shrank back, shamelessly hiding behind Miss Lovegood.
"It's nice to see you can still speak to me so fluently," Snape continued, seemingly venting his earlier displeasure. "I thought not speaking for so long would have caused your language system to deteriorate."
"Hmm!" Rice Worm pursed her lips, her gaze shifting unpredictably, and then her blue eyes met Hilo's.
"Miss Shiloh?" Unlike her panic upon seeing Snape, Shiloh was actually pleasantly surprised to hear her voice.
This fool—doesn't he know he shouldn't act so familiar with others?
"What's wrong, Miss Rice Worm?" Shiloh said with a cold face, "Isn't being criticized by a professor enough?"
