47: Ah, the long-awaited sunshine!
47: Ah, the long-awaited sunshine!
As they drew closer to the unknown entity, the fog thinned, and they could barely make out what it was—
Those were three enormous constructs pieced together from countless shipwrecks, rusted metal, and even the skeletons of giant sea kings!
Upon closer inspection, it's truly indescribable!
They have no fixed form; their enormous bodies are constantly twisting and recombining, but their dark red pupils remain constant, as if they will never go out!
"Lingling!"
"Oh my god!!"
At the bow of the Golden Dawn, Oro and Lingling stood side by side once again.
Auro grasped the sword with both hands, conjuring a golden greatsword once more. A surge of Conqueror's Haki, as powerful as lightning, enveloped the sword, causing the space at the bow of the Golden Dawn to begin to distort slightly.
Lingling then swung the giant golden axe in a wide arc, her ferocious aura almost solidifying, even causing the deck made of the precious tree Adam beneath her feet to groan under the weight.
"Overlord of the Sea!!!"
The two roared in unison again, their voices and strikes merging into one!
A massive shockwave, a fusion of golden sharpness and pitch-black lightning, surged toward the largest metal structure in the center like a divine punishment that cleaved the heavens and the earth!
"Boom—Crack—!!!"
This collision was no longer as simple as just splitting the fog!
The slash landed squarely on that indescribable "torso"!
A series of ear-piercing sounds of metal breaking, twisting, and exploding rang out, and dark red fragments flew everywhere!
The construct emitted a sharp hissing sound, as if a million pieces of glass were scraping against each other at the same time!
The massive body was blasted backward, leaving a huge hole in its chest, with various metal debris around it trying to wriggle and repair itself.
"It works!" York shouted excitedly.
However, the other two constructs did not back down because their companion was injured; their huge, arm-like structures slammed into the sea!
"BOOM!!!"
Two massive metal waves, thousands of meters high, suddenly appeared out of nowhere, carrying countless sharp metal fragments, like two walls of death, attacking the two ships from both sides!
Meanwhile, the small symbiotes beneath the surface were even more frantically assaulting the gold filters of the Golden Dawn and the hull of the Lombas.
"Don't even think about succeeding!"
Oro's eyes narrowed, and he manipulated the gold to instantly raise huge arc-shaped golden shields on both sides of the ship.
At the same time, they were operating the stern thrusters at overload, trying to rush through!
Brooke's piano playing suddenly became high-pitched and passionate, the notes like invisible blades cutting through the approaching dark red mist, gaining a tiny but crucial amount of space for the two ships.
"Lingling! To the left!"
"Leave it to me, Wei Guo!"
Lingling responded excitedly, flipping her hand and using the giant axe as a giant sword.
A more refined and domineering horizontal slash was unleashed, directly splitting the giant metal wave on the left side in two!
Seawater mixed with metal fragments crashed down, creating a torrential downpour of metal.
Oro focused all his efforts on maintaining the golden shield on his right side. The shield clanged continuously under the impact of the metal fragments, and its surface quickly became pitted and uneven.
"Hmph! You like surfing, huh!"
"rise!"
Oro raised his hands and unleashed his Devil Fruit power with all his might!
Within a radius of a thousand miles, all the gold that Oro could control condensed, expanded, and surged forth!
A giant golden wave, thousands of meters high, suddenly appeared out of nowhere!
Simply separate a thin layer from the surface of the gold and create a vacuum layer between it and the gold inside the storage compartment.
By allowing the outer layer to come into contact with seawater while isolating it, Oro can continue to manipulate the gold inside that has not been exposed to seawater.
"Um!!!"
Oro gritted his teeth and hissed, his muscles bulging as he clenched his fists tightly.
Inside the golden wave, all the gold atoms that Oron could control began to rub against each other! Doing work! Generating heat!
A golden wave, thousands of meters high, surged forth!
Even the gold, whose surface was stained with seawater and had already gone out of control, began to heat up and evaporate the seawater!
"BOOM—!!!!"
The golden wave crashed down on the metal wave that the construct had whipped up on the right!
It produced a deafening roar that shook the sea!
It's not over yet!
The golden wave transformed once again into a giant golden dragon, its body boiling with energy!
Emerging from that sea of metal!
The gold atoms continued to do work under Oro's manipulation!
The golden dragon's body, which was over a thousand meters long, was already glowing red!
All the gold atoms have been activated!
Blue-green flames even ignited on the dragon's body!
The enormous amount of heat energy has already built a physical barrier around the dragon that water molecules can never overcome!
Neither the red mist, the white mist, nor the seawater could ever touch that gold again.
Fine beads of sweat appeared on Auro's forehead. Maintaining such a wide range and such precise control of the gold was extremely taxing on his stamina.
He made a grasping motion towards the golden dragon, his veins bulging all over his body!
Pulling the giant dragon forward with unstoppable momentum!
Rushing towards those three 10,000-meter "mountains"!
"Go ahead and block my way, you monster!"
"Crack! Rumble—!!!"
The boiling dragon crashed into the monsters' ten-thousand-meter-tall bodies!
In that instant!
It emitted a thunderous roar that lasted for a long time.
The rightmost construct was directly penetrated!
The largest structure in the middle was completely defeated! A blazing dragon's body and claws coiled around it!
The enormous dragon head, already boiling and emitting a white light, suddenly bit down on the last construct on the left!
"Squeak—!"
Extremely piercing sounds emanated from the bodies of these monsters, echoing throughout the sea!
"Lingling!"
Oro shouted and threw Lingling's old axe at him.
"clear!"
Lingling caught her old partner steadily and used the old axe (which contained no gold) to chop off the part of the giant gold axe inlaid with sea stone.
As the Sea Stone fell, Oro immediately melted and reshaped the giant golden axe, using the gold to lift Lingling high into the sky.
"Hey! Come on!"
"If I can't kill you all with this, I won't touch dessert for a year!"
Lingling, high in the sky, poured almost all of her Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki into the giant axe in her hand.
The black Armament Haki was so dense it resembled solid ink, exuding a destructive aura.
The steel balloon unleashed a torrent of Conqueror's Haki lightning!
It even stirred up the electrical ions in the entire sky!
Bolts of lightning struck the giant axe in Lingling's hand!
Lingling leaped high from the golden platform again, and with all her might, swung her giant axe down:
"El-Baf's Gun!!!"
This attack was no longer a simple slash, but a spiraling black torrent!
A powerful torrent, carrying countless lightning bolts and nearly a hundred meters in diameter!
"Boom! Boom!"
The torrent fell from the heavens with unstoppable force!
Pierce through those three ten-thousand-meter-tall monsters along with the golden dragon!
A massive explosion once again engulfed the sea area.
In an instant, even the small patch of sky above Lingling's head cleared up, and the long-awaited sunshine shone down.
"Buzz—"
A wail, seemingly from the ancient wilderness, filled with pain and rage, resounded throughout the heavens and earth!
All the small symbiotes froze instantly, and then, like puppets without strings, disintegrated, turning into primitive metal fragments that sank to the seabed.
The smaller constructs on the left and right sides also stopped moving, and the red light in their eyes flickered and began to slowly dim.
The largest one no longer had the same bright red light in its eyes as before, but it also stopped flickering.
It slowly lifted its body.
He opened his body from the middle to both sides, completely enveloping the other two smaller bodies of his kind.
Then it slowly sank into the sea.
The thick fog that had shrouded the area for an unknown period of time began to dissipate and fade at a visible speed.
Although still obscured by clouds, the incredibly real sunlight, like golden swords, pierced through the gradually thinning mist and shone on the two battered but still standing pirate ships.
"Did it...work?"
"A member of the Rumbar Pirates muttered, hardly believing his eyes."
The sea breeze carried the familiar salty smell of the sea, completely dispelling the nauseating metallic sweetness.
Lingling did a high-altitude dive, crashed into the sea, and then emerged from the water.
Her long, pink hair, wet from the seawater, clung tightly to her cheeks, and she held a plump sea bass in her mouth.
Her face beamed with unbridled excitement, and the corners of her eyes curved into a smile.
Brooke stopped playing the violin and gracefully wiped away non-existent cold sweat from her forehead:
"Wow, what a thrilling performance! I felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest..."
"Although I don't have a heart, yohohoho~"
Gails and Taylor have begun checking on the wounded and distributing food.
York told Gails something, then boarded the Golden Dawn.
He walked up to the exhausted Oro, looked at the blond young man before him, and bowed deeply.
"Captain Oro... I can't thank you enough! Just let me know if you ever need anything!"
Oro waved his hand, his face showing obvious signs of fatigue.
He gazed at the gradually clearing horizon, and the eternal compass he had just taken out of his hand regained its stability, pointing firmly in a certain direction.
After resting for a while, Oro looked at York, who had spontaneously stood guard beside him:
"York, let everyone get a good night's rest, how about we have a banquet tomorrow?"
"good!"
