Chapter 14 Return
Chapter 14 Return
The cool moonlight bathed the entire room, giving this lonely space an indescribable sense of desolation.
Looking at the unfamiliar surroundings, even though he had made preparations, Naruto still felt a little lost.
Thinking about his experiences over the past three days, his anxiety and unease subsided considerably.
Even a traveler far from home longs for his home; how much more so would he, now in another world?
Naruto glanced at the clock beside him and was startled. The time on the clock was the same as the last time he saw three days ago when he was overwhelmed by the memories of this body.
"After returning home, does time stand still in this world?"
Naruto pondered this question, but at the same time, a new question arose in his mind: "What is the timeline like in my world after I came here?"
Naruto shook his head. Even with his exceptional talent and being the son of Minato, the most accomplished ninja in the ninja world in terms of space-time ninjutsu, space-time ninjutsu was still far beyond the capabilities of a thirteen-year-old genin.
"First, we need to survive in this world. As long as we keep living, we'll eventually find the reason. Just like my father said, time is the solution to all problems."
Naruto's eyes hardened instantly, but having already slept through the night before arriving in this world, he couldn't fall asleep again no matter what. Looking at the incredibly messy room, he couldn't help but shake his head, roll up his sleeves, and begin to tidy up.
……
As Hiruzen Sarutobi walked down the street, thinking about Danzo's tough attitude just now, he took a deep drag of his cigarette with some irritation.
As he expected, Danzo learned of Naruto's performance during the group assessment almost immediately.
This outstanding talent made Danzo, who already coveted Jinchūriki, unable to suppress his ambition any longer. Even his orders almost couldn't cool the burning desire in his old friend's eyes.
Thinking of his ambitious old friend and the now desolate village, Hiruzen Sarutobi's figure hunched over even more.
He looked up at the lights in the second-floor room, and his agitation subsided slightly.
He extinguished his pipe, stuffed it into his pocket, and slowly walked up the steps to the door, gently knocking.
Naruto, who was cleaning inside, heard a knock on the door. He put down his mop and went to the door, looking at the person outside through the peephole. His doubt deepened.
He opened the door with a puzzled look, bowed to the old man standing in the shadows at the door, and greeted him: "Good evening, Lord Hokage."
Seeing Naruto's performance, Hiruzen Sarutobi frowned under the brim of his hat.
"How come Naruto is so well-mannered?"
But he didn't ask, he just smiled kindly and said, "Good evening, Naruto. I was taking a walk outside and saw that your lights were still on, so I thought I'd come up and see what you were doing. I hope I didn't disturb you?"
"How could that be?"
Naruto stepped aside, placed his hands clasped over his lower abdomen, and bowed slightly to Hiruzen Sarutobi with an impeccable posture, replying, "It's my pleasure. Would you like to come in for a cup of tea?"
This posture made Hiruzen Sarutobi even more confused, no, more shocked than confused.
"Is this Naruto? Even the heir of a typical noble family wouldn't have such impeccable manners!"
Thinking of this, Hiruzen Sarutobi frowned even more deeply.
He gave Naruto a deep look, nodded and said "okay," then strode inside.
After Hiruzen Sarutobi walked in, a hint of hesitation appeared in Naruto's eyes, but he still took a deep breath, closed the door, and went inside.
As Hiruzen Sarutobi stepped into Naruto's living room, his shock intensified.
Everything in the room was arranged neatly, and even the floor, which hadn't been completely wiped, already looked spotless.
"Is that really Naruto?"
Looking at the room, which was almost completely different from what he remembered, Hiruzen Sarutobi was so shocked that he couldn't help but want to take out his pipe.
"The house is still being tidied up and is a bit messy. Please excuse the mess."
Hearing the perfectly timed voice behind him, Hiruzen Sarutobi could no longer hold back. He turned around and coldly looked at the boy under the lamplight: "Who exactly are you?"
Danger!
A sense of crisis Naruto had never felt before instantly gripped his heart. Faced with the undisguised and overwhelming aura of this ninja expert who had dominated the ninja world, Naruto's already uneasy heart began to beat even more intensely.
But remembering his father's words, he gritted his teeth and looked up at Hiruzen Sarutobi: "I am, Naruto Uzumaki."
"Naruto wouldn't have the manners you have."
Although his chakra, physique, and the faint traces of tailed beast chakra on Naruto's body all corroborate this, Hiruzen Sarutobi's eyes remained incredibly cold, and his aura grew ever more imposing.
"Who exactly are you?"
"Turtle!"
The name instantly stunned the usually serious Hiruzen. He frowned slightly and asked sharply, "What did you say?"
"A-Gui, that's the nickname you gave to your wife, Lady Biwako."
These words struck Hiruzen Sarutobi's heart like a dagger. He opened his mouth, his eyes wide with disbelief, as if he couldn't believe how Naruto knew this nickname he had never mentioned to anyone else.
"You had complained in your heart more than once about why Lady Biwako didn't make you bonito rice. It wasn't until you went out to eat that you discovered you were allergic to bonito. You apologized to Lady Biwako in your heart, but the only thing you did was to put a piece of what you thought was her favorite food on her plate."
"What is your favorite cup size?"
"you……"
Naruto's mouth, like a machine gun, unleashed countless secrets buried deep within Hiruzen Sarutobi's heart. Hearing these secrets, Hiruzen Sarutobi became increasingly dumbfounded, until finally, blushing, he disregarded his status and stepped forward to cover Naruto's mouth with his hand.
After stopping Naruto from saying anything more that would damage his reputation, Hiruzen Sarutobi breathed a sigh of relief and waved to the window.
Only after the hidden ANBU completely disappeared did the brooding and composed Hokage finally breathe a sigh of relief and look at Naruto.
His brows were still furrowed, but his eyes were no longer cold. He casually found a chair, sat down, and looked at Naruto with utter confusion: "How did you know all this?"
Seeing Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression, Naruto's tense heart finally relaxed. He was about to answer when, as if remembering something, he asked, "Hokage-sama, may I ask you a question first?"
"Um?"
Is Lord Biwako still alive?
Seemingly surprised that Naruto would ask this question, Hiruzen Sarutobi paused for a moment before nodding and saying, "Of course, that old woman isn't that easy to kill."
Hearing this, Naruto visibly breathed a sigh of relief: "That's good."
After saying that, he looked at Hiruzen Sarutobi with utmost seriousness: "Hokage-sama, I know you have many questions, and I will answer them one by one for you. But before that, someone asked me to pass on a message to you."
"What?"
Naruto recalled Hiruzen Sarutobi's expression in the hospital room and imitated him, saying, "If A-hu is still alive, please tell a certain careless guy that A-hu doesn't like to eat fish. She only mentioned it briefly when we first got married."
