"What's all this noise about!"
A disgusted shout came from the cell door, and with a loud crash, the heavy door suddenly opened, and the dazzling sunlight stung the hooded man's eyes, causing him to unconsciously lower his head.
The next second, a sharp arrow pierced the air with a sickening whistling sound, piercing the hooded man's shoulder and pinning him to the ground.
Who is in Chapter 6?!
The blinding sunlight streamed in from outside the dungeon door, and the guard in the shadows lowered his bow and chuckled coldly.
"Herod remnant, you're unlucky to have run into me with my weapons on."
The hooded man raised his head, a sharp pain in his shoulder causing him to tense instinctively. The metallic taste of his bitten lip brought him back to his senses, and he said angrily:
"The Mother Goddess will never let a despicable person like you get away with this..."
"Mother Goddess?"
The guard burst into laughter. He reached behind him, dragged a battered body in, and roughly walked to the hooded man, casually tossing the body in front of his cell.
"It seems your mother goddess didn't protect you!"
"Ah Ye!" the hooded man cried out in a trembling voice. He forcefully snapped the arrow off his shoulder, staggered to the cell door, and shouted, "Ah Ye, wake up!"
"Is it you...? Sister..."
The young half-elf murmured in a breathy voice, as if in a dream.
"It's me, A-Ye, don't fall asleep!" The hooded man grabbed A-Ye's hand tightly, pleading softly with a sob in his voice.
“It’s so good to see you again…” The young half-elf twitched his split, pointed ears, smirked, and instinctively raised his hand. Before he could touch the hooded man’s fingertips, he fell silent.
"No!"
Sensing the loss of life, the hooded man trembled, gritting his teeth and muttering a curse:
"You bastard, you beast! Mother Goddess... I will cast your soul into the Sea of Light! You will be forever condemned!"
She screamed hoarsely, her eyes bloodshot, and her magic unleashed involuntarily.
With a loud bang, the magic-suppressing wooden shackles on her wrists lit up instantly, the soil and withered grass on the ground exploded, and a violent shockwave suddenly struck, throwing her against the hard stone wall.
Click!
Amid the deafening explosion, the faint sound of a lock being opened could be heard. The guard, in a panic, covered his head with his shield and plunged into the mud. Several seconds later, he cautiously raised his head, looked around, his gaze sweeping over the hooded man coughing up blood and the long-lying corpse of Latis, before letting out a sigh of relief.
"What utter nonsense about Mother Goddess above!" the guard cursed, kicking the lifeless young half-elf. Looking at the hooded figure lying on the ground, he shook his head in utter boredom, gripping the railing as he said:
"It's a pity that your mother goddess is no longer on the continent of Atlantis. I wonder if you greedy elves in the prosperous city of Herod a hundred years ago ever thought that you would one day become extinct?"
"What a pity," the guard sighed. "You know, there are still many lords who want to keep elven slaves, both male and female, they're in high demand. You could have survived by simply selling your bodies, why can't you understand?"
The hooded woman gritted her teeth, tears of humiliation seeping from her tightly closed eyes, and she roared hoarsely:
"roll!……"
"I'm going to get out of here... Oh, I'm not talking about me, what's going on?" Suddenly, a confused voice rang out. The hooded man paused, struggled to lift his head, and looked at Latis, who was swaying as he stood up.
Latis, looking completely bewildered, wiped the blood from his mouth, scratched his head, and looked at the hooded man on the ground, asking:
"Brother, why are you coughing up blood too?"
The guard chuckled, threw A-Ye, whose fate was unknown, into the cell, picked up his weapon, and was about to leave.
Latis glanced at the wound on the hooded man's shoulder, his eyelids twitched, and he suddenly ran forward and called out to the guard:
"Brother guard, wait! Wait a minute!"
"What is it?" The guard habitually put on a mocking smile, already prepared to see Latis, like other death row inmates, belatedly begin to beg for mercy.
However, to his surprise, Latis took a deep breath and said with a serious expression:
"Big brother, how about I perform a magic trick for you?"
"You're not a magician, what kind of magic tricks are you performing?" The guard crossed his arms and looked at him coldly.
"look here!"
Latis suddenly raised his right hand, clenched his fist, and turned his back to the guard, grinning as he said, "Brother Guard, look, there's nothing here now!"
“And then…” He frowned, raised his left hand, grasped the air on his right side horizontally, and pretended to struggle, turning it forcefully like a wheel handle.
Suddenly, his expression changed, and he opened his mouth, glared, and shouted:
"Your father is here!"
Duang!
Latis's right middle finger bounced out of his underwear with remarkable elasticity and landed right in front of the guard.
"Ah!" The hooded man covered his mouth in surprise.
Latis turned and grinned at the hooded man. The next second, a thick scabbard pierced through the gap in the cage and struck him precisely in the abdomen.
"Ugh!" Latis instantly collapsed to the ground and began to dry heave.
"Crazy..." The guard, looking completely bewildered, sheathed his sword. A chill ran down his spine and up to the back of his head. He shivered, fearing he might catch something, and fled the dungeon as if his life depended on it.
Behind him, a "Mage's Hand," visible only to mages, with its thick, long middle finger extended, floated slowly away with him.
……
"Friend, how did you do that..." the hooded man asked incredulously in a low voice.
"Hehe... Shh." Latis grinned, rubbing his aching stomach, then looked seriously at his right middle finger. After a moment of silence, he said with a death-defying air, "It's too late, you're the one!"
He took a deep breath, placed his right hand on his dantian, and then his expression hardened as he thrust his middle finger upwards!
Bo! ~
"Ah ah ah ah ah!"
Outside the dungeon, the screams of the guards suddenly rang out.
The hooded woman's doubts choked her throat. Trembling with fear, she crawled to the other end of the cell, her face grave as she clutched her head with her hands.
"Zhongchong Sword! Zhongchong Sword! Zhongchong Sword!"
"Who...who is it?!"
"Guan Chong Sword! Twin Swords Combined!"
"Aaaaaah, please let me go!"
"Shangyang Sword! Shaoshang, Shaochong, attack together!"
"Ugh! Please!"
Ignoring the screams outside the dungeon, Latis's eyes were filled with a righteous and awe-inspiring conviction. He brought his fist to his waist, placed his right foot behind him, took a deep breath, and spun his body to strike upwards!
"Take this—Rising Dragon Fist!"
"Drink!"
"One warehouse!~"
Outside the dungeon, the guard lay limply on the ground, his eyes rolled back and his tongue lolling out. Then, with a thud, he lost consciousness.
Latis landed heavily, stood still, raised and pushed his hands at his dantian, exhaled a deep breath, and turned to look at the hooded man with a healthy smile.
"Brother, are you okay?"
The hooded man was startled, instinctively arching his back and springing up from the ground, saying in a tense voice:
"Friend, are you... are you alright...?"
Latis paused, scratched his head, sat cross-legged, and stared at the nervous hooded man for a long time before finally breaking down, raising his hands and saying:
“Those things from just now…”
If people found out that I, a mage, was fighting with my fists, I would truly be socially dead...
However, the hooded woman immediately interpreted this as a threat to forbid her from revealing her magical abilities. After a quick internal struggle, she solemnly placed her hands on her chest and bowed, saying:
“I swear in the name of Herod’s descendants that I will never reveal any information about you to anyone, and if I do so, may I be cast into the sea of darkness for eternity.”
“Well, there’s no need to be so formal…” Latis chuckled twice, then looked curiously at the new cellmate in the cell next to the hooded man and asked, “So who is that?”
The hooded man hesitated for a moment, then gently stroked the young half-elf's small hand, which was covered in dried blood, and whispered:
“This is my sister, A-Ye…”

Latis's message still hangs forlornly at the top of the 【Hand of the Mage】 topic discussion area.
