For the rest of the week, he and his friend stayed at home, preparing ingredients and keeping them fresh in the kitchen every day.

He didn't give any guidance; whenever I brought him food, he would just silently hand me notebooks or books, then close the door and we'd go our separate ways.
This arrogant old man really likes to give silently without expecting anything in return.
And so each day passed uneventfully until finally the day school started.
I finally finished my nighttime tasks the day before school was scheduled to start.
