Chapter 247 A Date with Cedric in the Forbidden Forest
"Ayers, why are you with Harry today?" Fred, with his sharp eyes, spotted me as I approached.
“We met halfway through.” Before Harry could even figure out how to answer, I had already sat down next to Cedric while replying.
"Hmm? Good morning, Ayers." Cedric, who was reading a book and eating breakfast, felt someone sit down next to him. He looked up and saw that it was Ayers.
"Cedric, you've started reviewing your knowledge so soon. Is this for the upcoming NEWT exam?" I looked at the book Cedric was holding, which was covered with notes and annotations.
“Well, I plan to become an Auror in the Ministry of Magic after graduation, because an Auror in the Ministry of Magic needs to get an ‘excellent’ or ‘good’ grade in at least five NEWT exams, so I’m starting to prepare now.” Cedric saw that I had no intention of eating and reading at the same time anymore after I sat down. He closed the book, put it away, and placed it next to him.
"Five O's? If you need anything from me, be sure to let me know." I feel I can still help Cedric with his studies.
Of course, I can probably handle matters concerning the Ministry of Magic, but it's best not to tell Cedric about it, as it might require me to reveal my identity.
“Okay.” Cedric felt that he could still manage his studies, but if there was anything he didn’t understand, he could ask Ayers for help.
"By the way, Ayers, your last event in the competition might be starting soon. Fred and I saw that the Quidditch pitch area is all fenced off, like something's under construction." George and Fred are never idle, and after all these years, who knows what place they haven't visited yet.
"Probably, I'm totally going with the flow." I really don't know what kind of surprise Riddle will give me in the last item, but it will definitely be a surprise for me, though I don't know about the others.
It could be a shock; I really want to know how psychologically our Headmaster Dumbledore will handle it.
"Everyone, I've finished eating and I'm leaving now." While the twins and I were still leisurely eating breakfast, Cedric picked up his book, stood up, and prepared to leave.
It was just that someone slipped a note into my hand when they left.
"Ayers, what are your plans for today?" Fred and George hadn't seen my interaction with Cedric, so they asked me about my afternoon plans.
"I have an appointment." I smiled and looked down at the words on the note in my hand. Cedric asked me to go to the Forbidden Forest this afternoon. It seemed he had a surprise for me too.
“Cedric is really quick.” George immediately guessed who had invited me.
"I'm used to it by now." Fred was starting to get used to it; everyone arrived at Yoeles very quickly, and all of them were doing it secretly.
"Don't say that. I've spent the most time with you two." I smiled and took out a handkerchief to wipe the sauce from the corner of Fred's mouth.
"But it's still not enough. I just want to stay with you forever," Fred said, his eyes welling up with tears, as he pressed his cheek against my hand.
“Alright, Fred, you’re just making things difficult for Ayers.” Before I could even speak, George hooked his arm around his twin brother’s shoulder and said.
"Alright." Fred was relieved; he had already expected this outcome, hadn't he?
"Don't be disappointed, I'll invite you two in a couple of days," I said to Fred and George with a smile.
"I'll wait for you." Fred's eyes lit up when he heard that I would make plans with them in two days.
It's become a regular occurrence for me to sit with Fred and the others for breakfast.
At the same time, Harry saw that I had already sat down to eat, and he was surrounded by Ron and Hermione.
"Harry, I heard you didn't go back to your dorm last night. Where did you go?" Hermione asked curiously, sitting across from Harry.
"I had something to discuss with Ayers, and it got too late to go back to my dorm to rest. I already told Ron about it." Harry was a little uneasy about his answer. Actually, he had asked Ayers how to answer Ron and Hermione's questions beforehand.
“Just answer directly, Harry. You don’t need to hide anything. As long as you want to announce our relationship, I won’t say anything.” This was Ayers’ actual answer.
However, Harry didn't want to make things difficult for Ayers. He would tell his two friends some things directly, but he would keep some things to himself.
Hermione and Ron were talking, but Harry wasn't listening. He glanced unconsciously at Ayers, who was eating, and saw Ayers' lips curl into a smile as he also secretly glanced at him. Harry immediately looked away.
By the time she finished eating with Hermione and Ron and left, Ayers had already left the Great Hall. She already missed him a little as soon as he left.
With some time to spare before my date with Cedric, I got bored and went to the kitchen to make some delicious afternoon tea snacks.
Upon arriving at the Hogwarts kitchen, the house-elves had already gone to rest. There were quite a few oil lamps here, probably to illuminate the area from all angles.
I'm already a regular in the kitchen, and I can use the ingredients here without needing my house-elf's permission.
"I checked my portable backpack and it seems there aren't many of the pastries left. Maybe I should take advantage of this time and make some new ones." After checking his portable backpack, he rolled up his sleeves and decided to use the remaining time to prepare some pastries.
I walked to the long table where various ingredients were laid out, my eyes sweeping over the dazzling array of raw materials, and finally settling on a pile of fresh berries and a bag of flour.
I decided to make some simple and delicious berry muffins.
First, pour the flour into a large bowl, add a small spoonful of baking powder and a pinch of salt, and stir briefly until well combined.
Then pick up a bowl of fresh milk from the table.
I slowly poured the milk into the flour while gently stirring with my wand. As I waved the wand, the flour and milk gradually blended together, forming a soft batter.
Next, I picked up a small knife and chopped a few plump, juicy berries into small pieces, then gently mixed them into the batter.
The vibrant berry chunks instantly added a bright touch of color to the batter.
Then, I used my wand to divide the batter into even pieces and placed them on a preheated baking sheet.
The oven radiates intense heat, and when the muffins are placed inside, the magical heat quickly envelops them.
Soon, the surface of the pancakes gradually turned golden brown, and the enticing aroma became even stronger.
I looked at the results in the oven with satisfaction and started preparing the cream to go with the muffins.
Find a can of cream in the cupboard, tap it lightly with the magic wand, and the cream will automatically start whipping.
The fine foam kept rising and soon turned into a fluffy ball.
To make the cream even more delicious, I added a few drops of honey and stirred it well again.
After the muffins were baked, I carefully removed them from the oven and placed them on a rack to cool.
Next, take a muffin, cut it gently with a knife, spread a large spoonful of cream in the middle, and add some fresh berries.
And just like that, a delicate berry muffin is complete.
I also made some cookies and fruit tarts. The cookies were neatly arranged on the baking sheet, baked to perfection, and made a crisp "crunch" sound when you took a bite; the fruit tarts had a crisp crust and were filled with sweet cream and colorful fruits.
Finally, I put all the carefully prepared afternoon tea snacks into my portable backpack.
The system backpack's interior space has been cleverly enchanted; once snacks are placed inside, they not only stay fresh but are also automatically arranged neatly according to type.
Having done all that, I left the Hogwarts kitchen with a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.
I was in my dorm room reading a book, occasionally taking out my magic pocket watch to check it.
When it was almost time to meet Cedric, I drank the last sip of tea, stood up, straightened my robe, and slowly walked out of the dormitory.
The corridor was filled with a dim, yellowish light, and my footsteps were particularly clear in the silence.
As I passed by the animated portraits, they watched me slowly by with curiosity, whispering amongst themselves, while my mind was entirely focused on the upcoming trip to the Forbidden Forest.
As I stepped out of the castle, a gentle evening breeze brought a touch of coolness, but it couldn't calm the turmoil in my heart.
The forbidden forest in the distance appeared mysterious and deep in the twilight, the silhouettes of the trees indistinct, as if hiding countless secrets.
I quickened my pace and headed towards the forbidden forest.
Soon, I saw that familiar figure.
Cedric stood at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, his back to me, his golden hair gleaming in the afterglow.
Hearing my footsteps, he turned around, a gentle smile on his face that seemed to dispel the gloom of the Forbidden Forest. "You've come," he said in a deep, melodious voice.
"Yes, I'm sorry to have kept you waiting," I said with a smile as I walked up to him.
Cedric shook his head gently. "No, the timing is perfect. Let's go in." As he spoke, he reached out and took my hand.
The moment you step into the Forbidden Forest, you enter another world.
The ground beneath my feet was soft and damp, and the thick layer of fallen leaves rustled softly.
The surrounding trees were tall and dense, their branches and leaves intertwined, almost blocking out the sky, leaving only scattered rays of light on the ground.
Occasionally, I could hear faint noises from unknown creatures in the shadows. I followed Cedric's footsteps, step by step, into the Forbidden Forest.
Seeing my calm demeanor, Cedric knew I had been to the Forbidden Forest before, and he said softly, "Has Ayers been to the Forbidden Forest?"
Cedric's voice must be going through puberty by now; it sounds like a violin, and it's very pleasant to listen to.
We walked slowly along a barely visible path, and Cedric pointed out the surrounding plants and some possible creatures as we went.
He knew quite a lot about the Forbidden Forest, and each plant had a unique story and use in his mouth.
As darkness fell, the atmosphere in the Forbidden Forest grew increasingly mysterious. Suddenly, a tiny, glowing sprite flew overhead, its wings shimmering with iridescent light—it was incredibly beautiful.
“Cedric, look at this little elf,” I couldn’t help but whisper. Cedric stopped and joined me in admiring the wondrous sight.
As we strolled through the Forbidden Forest, time seemed to slow down.
We were immersed in this mysterious Forbidden Forest, enjoying each other's company and this unique experience. At that moment, the mystery and unknown of the Forbidden Forest became incredibly beautiful because Cedric was by our side.
“Ayers, I’ve wanted to bring you here to see everything for a long time.” Cedric and I sat down on a haystack together.
“I’ve been to the Forbidden Forest before. What I care about is the person who came with me to explore it.” I’ve been to the Forbidden Forest with Severus and had a fight with him, and I’ve also brought Draco to see the dragons, which means seeing my own dragon form. I’ve also experienced the music of the elves with the twins.
The person keeping me company now is Cedric, a very gentle and considerate boy.
"Side, why did you invite me to the Forbidden Forest this time?" I was very curious as to why Side would invite me here.
“Ayers, I feel so ordinary, like there’s nothing I can do to help you, like I can only stand by and watch you silently,” Cedric said, expressing his unease.
He had always been able to tell who Ayers' partners were.
At first, it was just intimacy, but over time it became clear that he was different from them; he no longer had the same very close relationship with Ayers as they did with him.
So much so that he felt extremely envious, and then jealous. Yes, he was jealous.
He also wanted to possess Ayers; the responsibility and promise of the ring were no longer enough for him. He wanted to have him completely.
Yes, he wanted to take that step himself, the last step.
“Ayers, I want you.” Cedric looked me face to face and finally said those words.
"Is there no going back, no matter how I treat you?" Is this still the Cedric with his impeccable patience? He's been pushed to the limit.
We sat quietly on the lawn, the tips of the grass swaying gently in the breeze, carrying a faint fragrance of earth and grass around us.
All around was quiet, except for the occasional chirping of insects, like a gentle melody played by nature.
I turned slightly to the side, stretched out my arm, and gently pulled him into my embrace.
His body stiffened slightly, then relaxed and leaned against my chest. I could feel his heartbeat, like a drumbeat, exceptionally clear in the quiet night.
I slowly raised my other hand, my fingertips lightly touching his face. His delicate skin was slightly warm, as if an electric current was running through my body from my fingertips. I carefully lifted his head, my movements as gentle as if I were handling an extremely precious treasure.
His eyes shone with a captivating light under the moonlight, like the most brilliant stars in the night sky.
Our eyes met, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still.
In his eyes, I saw endless affection and longing, an emotion that could intoxicate and captivate.
Gradually, we got closer and closer, and our breaths mingled together.
His breath gently brushed against my cheek, carrying a hint of sweet temptation.
Finally, our lips met, and in that instant, it felt as if the whole world had disappeared, leaving only each other.
