The world has finally fucking quieted down.
The explosions, more explosive than a rock concert, and the agonizing metal screams, more piercing than a pig being slaughtered, were all extinguished in the final, deafening roar, comparable to a miniature nuclear explosion.
Chu Hang collapsed onto the snow, feeling like a hapless guy who had run an 800-kilometer marathon and been run over three times by a dump truck. His chest was heaving like a broken bellows, and every part of his body seemed to be screaming that it was about to fall apart.
Seriously, it was even more tiring than the last month of continuous work on a project he could remember.
Having been in this world for so long, this was the first time he'd ever fought such a high-level world boss. This thing was practically a combination of giant mechs and terrifying monsters, putting him under immense mental pressure. Every second, his nerves were taut like guitar strings, terrified that one wrong move would turn him into a two-dimensional being.
The muscle fibers that were strained due to the violent output are being repaired at an astonishing rate under the combined effects of the super soldier serum and the self-healing factor.
Two powerful abilities worked together efficiently within him.
Chu Hang subconsciously clenched his fist, feeling the power that seemed capable of crushing metal. He understood; after this battle, he had truly stabilized the power of the Super Soldier Serum. Now, he was significantly stronger than before the battle.
A long, bellows-like panting came from the side.
Chu Hang turned his head and saw Steve Rogers kneeling on one knee, supporting himself with his iconic shield. Captain America was panting heavily, but his blue eyes shone with the relief of surviving a close call and a determined light.
"Are you alright?" Steve asked, panting, his voice hoarse but full of concern.
"I won't die." Chu Hang grinned, revealing a set of white teeth, and nimbly leaped out of the snow pit. "It feels... better than ever before."
Steve looked at Chu Hang and smiled with satisfaction. He nodded and turned his gaze to the other side.
Logan was sprawled out in the snow, spread-eagled. His arm, which Chu Hang had used as an "armor-piercing drill," had now largely recovered thanks to the healing factor, as if the horrifying injury he had just suffered was merely an illusion.
"Hey, old man, are you still alive?" Chu Hang shouted at him.
Logan didn't say anything, but silently raised his hand and gave the middle finger to the gray sky.
"Okay, looks like you're in good spirits." Chu Hang shrugged.
Steve stood up, walked to Chu Hang's side, and extended his hand. Chu Hang hesitated for a moment, then grasped it. The captain pulled him up steadily.
"Well done, Chu." Steve patted Chu Hang's shoulder hard, so hard that it would make an ordinary person grimace. "Just now, if it weren't for you, we might all be dead here."
"Don't say that, Captain." Chu Hang quickly returned the compliment, "If you hadn't been the first to jump down and draw fire, we wouldn't even have had a chance to get close to that guy."
The two exchanged a glance, and a kind of trust and tacit understanding based on sharing life and death met in their eyes.
“We need to check this out.” Steve’s gaze fell on the massive, still-smoking wreckage in the distance. “Make sure that thing is completely destroyed.”
Chu Hang and Logan both agreed. Last-hitting is a basic skill.
The three of them helped each other, stumbling and sinking into the ruins. The closer they got, the stronger the strange smell, a mixture of engine oil, burnt circuits, and unknown substances, became. Logan sniffed and frowned. "There's no smell of life anymore. They're all dead. But this smell... it's weird."
Chu Hang also focused his mind, using his enhanced hearing to scan the ruins. Silence reigned; there was no heartbeat or other signs of life.
"Wait." Chu Hang suddenly stopped. "There's some noise."
"What?" Steve immediately went on high alert.
“Something’s making a sound,” Chu Hang said, pointing to the center of the ruins, the location where they had attacked earlier. “It’s buzzing, very high-frequency, like some kind of equipment on standby.”
The three exchanged a glance and immediately rushed towards the source of the sound. After tearing aside a twisted piece of armor plate, they saw their target—a metal sphere the size of a basketball, its surface covered with unknown runes and three fresh claw marks (clearly Logan's handiwork). The sphere was emitting a faint blue light, and the buzzing sound was coming from within it.
Steve instinctively reached out to touch it, but Chu Hang grabbed him and pressed him down.
"Don't touch it! Captain!" Chu Hang said seriously, "This thing feels wrong, very wrong!"
Chu Hang could sense that the small sphere contained an extremely violent yet familiar energy fluctuation.
Although the energy intensities are vastly different, the sense of immensity originating from space is unmistakable! Hydra has actually mastered the rudimentary technology of utilizing the energy of the Infinity Stones!
A primal desire surged from the depths of Chu Hang's heart; every cell in his body seemed to be screaming, wanting to devour this energy.
[Ding! High-purity Cosmic Cube energy source detected! Copy?]
[Warning: This energy source is extremely unstable, and the host's current physical condition may not be able to fully withstand it. Forced replication carries risks...]
[System notification: High risk, high reward! Young man, take a gamble, and you could go from bicycle to motorcycle!]
Chu Hang's heart raced.
We must gamble! This is a rare opportunity!
He silently chanted in his mind: "Copy!"
[Ding! Copying [Cosmic Cube Energy (Degraded Version)]... Copying progress 1%... 5%...]
He remained outwardly calm, but inwardly he became tense.
“We must take it.” Steve’s voice interrupted his thoughts. “This thing cannot remain here. Howard Stark will definitely be interested in it.”
Finally, they carefully wrapped the dangerous "power bank" in a canvas, and Steve carried it on his back.
Just then, hurried footsteps sounded in the distance. The members of the Howling Assault Team had arrived. When they saw the battlefield razed to the ground and the mountain of monster remains, they were all stunned.
“My God…” Dugan murmured, “You three…did you slay a dragon?”
Steve just gave a weary smile: "Cleared a roadblock. Where are our men?"
"They've all been rescued! Everyone is safe!" Dugan reported excitedly.
All eyes were on Chu Hang, Steve, and Logan, filled with awe, admiration, and disbelief.
As Chu Hang met those gazes, an indescribable sense of satisfaction welled up inside him. He glanced at Captain America beside him, then at Wolverine, who was trying to light a flattened cigar not far away.
He knew that from this moment on, his name "Chu Hang" would no longer be just a code name.
Steve's gaze swept over the crowd, finally settling on the still brightly lit Hydra base in the distance.
He took a deep breath, his voice steady and powerful:
"Everyone, take a ten-minute break."
"Then, we'll go and bring our brothers home from that hell!"
**[At the same time, in a secret command center of the Strategic Scientific Legion (SSR)]**
On the screen, which flickered with static, the satellite image remained fixed on the massive wreckage of the monster. A deathly silence fell over the command room; the atmosphere was heavy.
"Playback," the intelligence chief's voice was hoarse and cold. "Zoom in on the last three minutes of footage and analyze it frame by frame!"
The technician quickly took action. The screen rewound, showing Steve jumping off the cliff to draw fire, and Chu Hang descending from the sky with Logan to deliver the fatal blow.
"Stop!" the intelligence chief ordered.
The image freezes on the moment Chu Hang throws Logan like a javelin.
"Analyze the motion trajectory and force output data of these two targets!"
The data on the screen scrolled rapidly.
"Reporting, sir! According to model calculations, Chu Hang's explosive power at the moment of takeoff has exceeded Captain Rogers' peak record! The force he exerted when throwing Logan is estimated to be enough to throw a heavy tank tens of meters!"
"And that final push..." the technician's voice trembled, "...couldn't be calculated precisely! The instantaneous force superposition exceeded the explanation range of existing physical models! The result proved that they penetrated more than 300 millimeters of unknown high-strength alloy armor purely through physical attack!"
The head of the secret service stared intently at Chu Hang's figure on the screen, his eyes filled with astonishment and suspicion.
"Chu Hang..." he muttered to himself, "Our initial assessment was completely wrong. Terribly wrong!"
"He is no ordinary enhanced soldier! He has been hiding his true strength! That final blow... contained extraordinary power, more like... an instantaneous energy burst that we cannot comprehend!"
“And that energy core,” the agent leader pointed to another report, “an energy source that Hydra extracted from the Tesseract. It was recovered by Rogers after the battle. But the moment Chu Hang came into contact with it, our detectors detected an extremely short-lived, anomalous energy fluctuation!”
A collective gasp filled the command room.
"Sir, you mean he can use..."
"I have no conclusions," the intelligence chief interrupted his subordinate. "All I know is that this person is a million times more complex than we imagined."
The head of the intelligence agency slammed his fist on the control panel.

Chapter 37 Lair
Chu Hang's casual remark, "There are other things," was like a drop of ice water falling into a boiling oil pan, instantly freezing the atmosphere on the spot.
"say clearly!"
Steve Rogers's face, as handsome as a Greek sculpture, tensed instantly, his hand gripping Chu Hang's shoulder like an iron clamp. The force was so great that, had Chu Hang not just undergone a "hardware upgrade," this blow would have undoubtedly fractured his bones. The future leader of the Avengers' eyes held no trace of gentleness, only the sharpness of a Falcon locking onto its target.
Logan, who was walking at the front, also froze. He didn't turn around, but his signature cigar slipped from the corner of his mouth and fell to the snow, extinguishing with a "whoosh." He twitched his nostrils, like a lone wolf that had caught the scent of its predator, every muscle in his body on high alert.
“A signal source? No, that’s not right…” Chu Hang closed his eyes, maximizing the extraordinary senses brought about by the 100% fusion of the Super Soldier Serum. His brain instantly transformed into a sophisticated sonar, filtering, analyzing, and modeling the countless sound wave data flooding into his ears.
"Not just one, but thousands... even more!" Chu Hang suddenly opened his eyes, his expression turning strange. It wasn't fear, but more like the excitement of discovering a new continent. "They're moving, right beneath our feet, in the crevices of the wall, like a swarm of awakened insects. And they seem... to be electrified?"
“Something’s not right,” Logan finally spoke, his voice hoarse as if it had been sanded. “Besides the smell of rust and blood, there’s a smell of ozone, and burnt wires… these damn things are electrified.”
They are electrified. In large numbers. They are still moving inside the wall.
The combination of these keywords made Steve and Logan's faces darken. Both were battle-hardened veterans and immediately realized this was no good sign.
Chu Hang's mind drifted back to the conversation he had overheard with the Hydra officer.
"The final purification plan!" He shouted out this crucial information at "perfect timing," his face convincingly showing a look of horrified realization. "That officer I overheard earlier, this is what he wanted to activate! They're not going to self-destruct; they're going to release these monsters to wipe out the entire underground facility, along with our brothers!"
Now, even Steve's face turned completely pale.
This is no longer a rescue; it's like pulling teeth from a tiger's mouth, especially when a volcano is about to erupt.
Without the slightest hesitation, Steve was the first to rush down the dark underground staircase. Chu Hang and Logan followed closely behind, one calculating how well this "experience pack" would help his new body adapt, while the other was simply enjoying the complete awakening of his beastly instincts for battle.
The three rushed underground, and a smell mixed with engine oil, dust, and strong ozone hit them. From deep within the walls came a sickening, metallic scraping sound, as if countless crabs were crawling in the pipes, getting closer and closer.
Suddenly, with a "crack," a cement slab fell off the wall in front of them, and a mechanical spider the size of a fist with six metal limbs poked its head out. Its scarlet compound eyes flashed and locked onto them.
Then, the second, the third...
With a deafening roar, the entire wall collapsed instantly, like a dam hollowed out by termites! Hundreds and thousands of identical mechanical spiders surged out of the hole in the wall like a black tide. The sound of their limbs scraping against the ground blended into a chilling noise, and their scarlet electronic eyes formed a desolate sea of stars.
"Mechanical spiders... with self-destruct capabilities. Hydra's imagination really only seems to be used for crooked and evil purposes." Chu Hang couldn't help but mutter to himself as he watched this spectacular scene.
"Clang, clang, clang—!"
Steve, shield in hand, perfectly embodied the phrase "immovable as a mountain." Countless mechanical spiders fearlessly crashed into his shield, exploding into dazzling bursts of sparks—a scene as festive as firecrackers during Chinese New Year.
Logan, the raging beast, was even more direct. Instead of retreating, he charged forward like a berserker unleashing his full power, plunging headlong into the "monster horde." His bone claws swung wildly, the sounds of tearing metal and explosions filling the air, his efficiency astonishing.
