Chapter 209 The Truth That Isn't the Truth
Perhaps Lady Rosmerta realized that Fudge had no interest in the Dementors problem at Hogsmeade, so she stopped talking and the topic quickly shifted elsewhere.
When talking about Dementors, one cannot ignore their target this time: Sirius Black.
"Of all those who have sided with the Mystic, Sirius Black is the one I least expected... I mean, I remember what he looked like when he was at Hogwarts."
"You only know half of it," Fudge said, taking a sip of mead. "He's done far worse things than siding with the mysterious man..."
"Is it worse than killing so many innocent people?" Ms. Rosmerta asked.
"Of course," Fudge said.
"I can't believe it."
"Do you remember who his best friend was?" Professor McGonagall asked. "I'm sure everyone who knew him would."
"Of course I remember," Mrs. Rosmerta said without hesitation. "I've never seen them apart; they were closer than brothers, Sirius Black and James Potter!"
With a clang, it seemed someone's wine glass had fallen to the ground.
Sirius glanced at Sirius under the table and suddenly noticed that he was huddled in a corner against the wall, trembling all over.
"If you rush out now, you might be able to interrupt them," Siren whispered.
Sirius Black did not respond.
"You should know that Harry is listening too, and he's probably about to hear the truth that isn't the truth."
Sirius finally reacted, looking up at Sirius, and then firmly shook his head.
"No need?" Sirius was somewhat surprised, as this was a bit unexpected. He had thought that Sirius would never want Harry to know about that past event.
After all, his position in the group wasn't exactly honorable.
However, since Sirius had already made this decision, Sirius didn't ask a second time; respecting his decision was enough.
Just as he expected, the group quickly started talking about Sirius Black and James Potter's past, and then naturally brought up the Faithful Charm.
James and Lily wanted to hide themselves in a place where Voldemort couldn't find them, so they used an ancient spell, the Faithful Charm.
This spell can hide the exact address of their residence into the memory of another person, the secret agent.
As long as the secret agent doesn't reveal the address, even if Voldemort were peering through the window of James and Lily's house, he wouldn't be able to see them.
But the address was leaked, and one night, Voldemort broke in and killed James Potter and Lily Evans... as well as himself.
Harry, the boy who had miraculously survived, was the only one left in the room.
"Despicable, filthy traitor!" Hagrid yelled, and half the bar fell silent.
His face was flushed, and it was hard to tell whether he was angry or had drunk too much.
Sirius glanced under the table again, but Sirius was gone.
He must have sneaked away while Professor McGonagall was stopping Hagrid from going crazy.
"Why bother?" Xilun sighed.
If Sirius hadn't followed Harry to Hogsmeade, Harry would be the only one feeling sad today.
But he caught up with them, not only following the three brooms into the room, but also witnessing firsthand the growing anger and hatred on Harry's face.
Sirius didn't know why he wanted Harry to hear that whole story; perhaps he wanted to clear up all the misunderstandings at once. But until the truth was revealed, he had to bear the hatred Harry felt towards him.
Thinking about it that way, he might as well not have known.
……
About half an hour later, the professors and Fudge left the three brooms.
Also, I don't know when, Harry was no longer under the table.
"When did he leave?" Ron reached under the table and waved his hand, but he couldn't find Harry no matter what he did.
"I don't know, it must have been... when Fudge mentioned that Black was his godfather," Hermione said worriedly.
"We need to get back quickly." She stood up. "Sirlen, Ron..."
"I suggest you don't," Celen shook his head. "Not every time you're sad you need comforting; sometimes being alone is more effective."
"But..." Hermione stood there, somewhat conflicted. She still felt that it might be better to stay by Harry's side at this moment.
“Harry left without saying goodbye, so he probably doesn’t want us to comfort him,” Cirron said. “And how can you comfort him? Are you going to tell him, ‘Don’t be sad, it’s not a big deal that your godfather betrayed your parents’?”
Hermione and Ron were both taken aback for a moment before realizing that they really didn't know how to comfort Harry.
"So, shall we stay in Hogsmeade?" Ron asked.
"This is the best option," Siron said, walking over to the bar and ordering himself a butterbeer.
In order not to interrupt Ms. Rosmerta and Fudge's conversation, he came in and didn't order anything, just sat there for more than half an hour.
The latest novel is first published here!
The blizzard outside was getting worse, and drinking a butterbeer at this time made me feel warm all over.
They didn't return to Hogwarts until evening, along with most of the other students.
During dinner, Harry remained silent. Although Ron and Hermione were anxious, Percy was sitting next to them, so they dared not discuss any of the news they had heard.
After dinner, Dumbledore gave some instructions about the holiday, and then everyone returned to the common room.
Sirius did not return. Before curfew, he hurried away from the castle and went to the edge of the Forbidden Forest, a place Sirius frequented.
But he didn't see the familiar black dog here. Instead, Tom was there, probably having just finished dinner, and was leisurely resting.
But it didn't know where its newly acquired follower was.
Siren searched again until curfew was almost up before returning to the castle.
Harry wasn't in the common room, nor was Ron; only Dean and Seamus were playing wizard chess... They must have gone straight back to their dorms.
Xilun also wanted to go back to the dormitory.
It wasn't because of Harry, but because Fred and George, in celebration of the upcoming holiday, detonated half a dozen dung bombs in their dormitory.
When he first came in, he thought he had gone to the wrong place... The whole common room was like a giant can of herring, so smelly that it was hard to keep your eyes open.
"Oh, damn it, why can't you throw the dung balls outside!" Percy demanded angrily.
The smell was so strong that the dormitory door couldn't block it at all. He regretted eating so much for dinner. Now he could only cover his mouth tightly to prevent himself from throwing up.
"Throw the dung balls outside?" Fred looked at Percy in astonishment. "Don't you want to listen to what you're saying?"
"Throwing poop in the hallway is against school rules!" George shouted. "What if Filch catches you?"
"But throwing poop in the common room isn't against school rules," Fred said with a grin, throwing another poop that exploded right next to Percy.
"vomit!"
Percy's face turned bright red, he covered his mouth and ran away hurriedly.
Xilun ran away too.
He couldn't stand being in the common room right now. He suspected that Fred and George were doing it on purpose because they had a day off tomorrow and wouldn't have to stay in the common room.
