Chapter 217 Falling into the Hands
Chapter 217 Falling into the Hands
For the next six months, Deidara and Qingrou wandered around, and living a life of hardship was practically their routine.
Two people who have no concept of money inexplicably spend all their money. Occasionally, Deidara will hide some of it, but when he sees Qingrou's wanting eyes, he can't help but take out his money.
"He resigned himself to his fate. He was defeated by this woman, even though they were once fierce rivals."
Fortunately, Deidara has gotten used to it. As long as she's by his side, money and other things are minor issues. He will take good care of her.
However, he never let Qingrou participate in any of the commissions he accepted. He would always find a place not far from the mission location for her to wait.
Once he got the money, he came to pick her up.
As usual, Deidara brought Qingrou to a mountain peak where they could clearly see him displaying his skills. "Qingrou, don't run around. Be a good girl and wait for me to come back, okay?"
"If you're bored, have some snacks; these are all your favorites."
Deidara pulled out a bag of snacks from somewhere and placed it next to her.
Qingrou pouted, "I know, you're so nagging." She's not a child, why does she have to nag like this every time?
Seeing Qingrou like this, Deidara became even more worried and gave her a few more instructions before controlling the bird beneath his feet to leave.
This time, however, when Qingrou woke up in the early morning, Deidara still hadn't returned, and a bad feeling welled up in her heart.
Deidara was blocked in his way by three people dressed in red robes with black cloud patterns.
"Join the Akatsuki?"
"Sorry, I'm not interested!"
Deidara isn't alone like in the anime; he now has a sense of belonging, so why would he join an organization? Qingrou is still waiting for him to return.
"Then it's not up to you!"
The Akatsuki's motto is to subdue those who are unwilling to join.
This time, however, Itachi wasn't there, so the situation of subduing Deidara in one move didn't occur. Nevertheless, it was certain that he would be defeated when outnumbered, even though he was stronger than in the anime, not to mention that Pain hadn't even made a move yet.
In the end, he had no choice but to submit and join the Akatsuki organization.
This time, however, he didn't have a headband on him. Qingrou had taken it away long ago, saying, "Your identity is something you give yourself when you're out in the world. Once you leave the village, don't cause trouble for it."
He put on the Akatsuki robes and rings, saying, "I have some things to take care of. I'll catch up with you in a bit."
After Deidara finished speaking, he pinched a bird, threw it into the air, and it instantly grew larger. He then jumped onto the bird.
"Chief, he didn't escape, did he?!"
"No." Pain replied indifferently and turned to leave.
Seeing this, Scorpion and Xiao Nan silently followed behind.
Just as Qingrou was about to go find Deidara, she saw him return, only now he was wearing Akatsuki clothes.
"Qingrou, you should go back to the village. I'll join an organization that will allow me to focus on my art studies."
He had considered taking Qingrou away, but the members of this organization were all very strong, and Deidara didn't want her to be in such danger, let alone join such an organization. What if she was led astray?
Fortunately, his previous decision was correct; he never involved Qingrou in any of his commissioned tasks.
"I understand." Qingrou stared at him for a while, then nodded, thinking to herself, "As expected, some things can't escape the plot."
She took out a piece of clay that she had been working on for a long time and handed it to Deidara, saying, "Take this. If you encounter a powerful Lightning Release ninja, use it."
"Contact me if you run out, and I'll make you another one."
"besides..."
She was about to say something more when Deidara hugged her tightly. "Qingrou...can I hold you for a while?"
At this moment, his reluctance reached its peak. He didn't understand why, but he knew that the art he pursued had long been surpassed by Qingrou in his heart.
She reached out and wrapped her arms around Deidara's waist as a gesture of comfort.
After a long while, she opened her mouth slightly and continued what she hadn't finished saying, "And don't die. If you encounter a situation you can't beat, just run away. Don't be so impulsive."
"Yes, I'll keep your words in mind." Deidara couldn't help but hug her tighter, then he continued, "Qingrou, can I give you some advice?"
"What suggestion?" she asked, puzzled.
"Qingrou... you really don't need to lose weight. Your chest feels nice and full like this... I like it..."
Before she could finish speaking, Deidara was sent flying backwards. Qingrou didn't even glance at him before turning and leaving.
Onoki knew perfectly well what they had been doing during this time.
Fortunately, none of them used their Iwagakure ninja identities, so he chose to turn a blind eye.
However, the destruction was widespread in many parts of the Land of Earth, and Onoki did not want to let them continue like this, so he directly ordered Hirotsuchi to take some people back.
"Qingrou, why are you the only one here? Where's Deidara?"
As soon as Huang Tu left the village, he saw Qing Rou return alone and asked her a question.
“He went to be a spy and won’t be back for a while.” Qingrou thought for a moment and decided that giving Deidara a spy identity was better than having a rogue ninja who would be hunted down by the Anbu.
"This child actually cares about the village." Huang Tu was somewhat incredulous after hearing Qing Rou's words.
"Well, it's normal for things to change a bit after going out," Qingrou explained for Deidara without even thinking.
Even so, she still had to make a trip to the Tsuchikage's office.
Upon learning that Kiyo had mastered Dust Release, Onoki decided to be more lenient regarding Deidara's situation.
"Qingrou, the village is short of funds lately. Can you find a way to get some?"
Onoki directly entrusted Kiyoyu with the matter that had been giving him a terrible headache lately.
If the village continues to have no income, he will continue to hire the Akatsuki organization to instigate wars among small countries.
Although she already knew that if Onoki found out she could use Dust Release, he would entrust her with an important task, it wasn't this kind of important task. Where was she going to get the money?
Thinking about her life with Deidara, she felt like she had no chance with money. "Oh well, I'll just have to take it one step at a time!"
Returning to her long-missed home, she was inexplicably filled with emotion, and the image of Deidara involuntarily surfaced in her mind.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through Qingrou's mind, and she quickly sent a message to Hualing in her mind, "Hualing, is there a market for jade?"
"That's perfect! I'm just worried about not having any jade to sell. If you have any, Qingrou, just send them over. I guarantee you'll be satisfied with the price."
With the news that Hua Ling had sent, Qing Rou felt much more at ease.
She remembered that when she was outside the village, she encountered a mudslide and saved the whole village. Many of the rocks that slid down were raw stones from which jade could be found.
She kept this matter to herself, and the villagers living at the foot of that mountain knew nothing about it.
Having found a way to make money, Qingrou pinched a large bird and flew towards that mountain.
A month later, all Onoki knew was that Kiyo was running around late at night every day, and there was no sign of any progress on the funding issue.
Qingrou only knew that she was going further and further away from digging in the soil, but fortunately she was proficient in earth-遁 (earth-遁 is a type of magic that allows one to escape through soil), so it wasn't too hard.
It's just that when they should be sleeping, they have to work instead, and you can imagine how deep their resentment is.
It's all Deidara's fault, otherwise she wouldn't have revealed that she had learned Dust Release.
Another month passed, and Onoki couldn't sit still any longer. He was about to send someone to bring Kiyo over to ask about the situation.
Qingrou carried several boxes to the Tsuchikage's office.
"Old man, I've raised the two hundred million. Don't ask me to do any work for a while. I'm going into seclusion to practice ninjutsu."
Qingrou left those words behind and ran away.
It took Onoki a while to react, his face full of disbelief.
He thought Qingrou would only be able to gather half at most, but he didn't expect her to not only gather the whole thing but also complete it ahead of schedule. He had previously thought she had given up on this important task, but now he really didn't expect it.
If Onoki knew that Qingrou still had 200 million that she hadn't come up with, he would be shocked. And the money was still coming in steadily, since every world has no shortage of rich people.
