Chapter 8: Daily Foundation Building
Chapter 8: Daily Foundation Building
On the cliff.
Hearing that Zuo Ruotong wanted to watch his cultivation.
Without hesitation, Li Cunzhen took off his shoes, walked onto the bluestone, sat upright, and clenched his fists, just as before.
Next, following the description of the mental cultivation method, try to sense the energy flowing through your own eight extraordinary meridians.
Even as Zuo Ruotong was explaining, Li Cunzhen discovered that the foundation building process in this world was roughly the same as the foundation building he had learned in his previous life, with only some differences in details.
All of these are ways to accumulate true qi.
The so-called true qi is formed by the combination of the qi in the human body and the qi of heaven and earth.
For ordinary people, the body's energy circulation is incomplete, the meridians have not yet formed a complete cycle, and the body's energy is still mixed, let alone combined with the energy of heaven and earth.
The so-called foundation-building method is a way to help the human body form a cycle.
Take the San Yi Men's techniques as an example.
He divided the human body's meridians into two parts, and these two parts are inherently harmonious and unified, forming their own cycle.
The core of the first part is the Governing Vessel (Du Mai).
The core of the second part is the Ren meridian.
When a cultivator enters a meditative state, the six senses are purified, all worldly attachments are let go, and the body's energy returns to a state of primordial chaos.
At this point, the Qi in the human body within the first part will spontaneously become solid and substantial during the circulation of this part.
It is called the "governing qi".
The Qi in the second part of the body will spontaneously become clear and transparent, which is called Ren Qi.
After the Du Qi is formed, it ascends to Baihui (GV20) and then descends to the Yinjiao (GV1) acupoint on the upper palate of the mouth, where it transforms into fluid, which is called Jinjin (Golden Fluid).
After the Qi is formed, it rises to the Chengjiang acupoint on the lower jaw of the mouth, where it will also be transformed into liquid, which is called Yuye (jade liquid).
At this point, simply press your tongue against the roof of your mouth to connect the Ren and Du meridians, and the body's circulation will naturally begin.
At the same time, the golden liquid mixes in the mouth, receiving the energy of heaven and earth outside the body.
The mixed liquid looks like saliva, but it has a sweet taste that is smooth and not cloying. It is a natural sweetness and is called nectar.
However, once the nectar is formed, it cannot be swallowed directly. Instead, wait until your mouth is full, then curl your tongue up and naturally send it down to your dantian.
Finally, depending on the practitioner's needs, the true qi may be stored in the dantian or enter a certain meridian or acupoint.
This process is called swallowing saliva and taking in qi.
The method of building a foundation by swallowing saliva and absorbing qi is entirely without any shortcuts or tricks.
Although the results may seem slow, the process is steady and reliable, leaving no room for worry.
Your future spiritual practice will be much smoother than others.
This is the orthodox method of the Xuanmen sect.
Just as Zuo Ruotong's explanation and his own understanding of Foundation Establishment flashed through Li Cunzhen's mind, and he felt the energy surging in his meridians.
outside world.
Zuo Ruotong's eyes revealed anticipation.
He wasn't worried that Li Cunzhen wouldn't be able to accumulate true qi, since the biggest difficulty in accumulating true qi was actually entering a seated state.
Li Cunzhen had already conquered it.
He was simply curious about the extent to which Li Cunzhen's talent could reach.
There are 365 major acupoints, and each acupoint requires nine breaths of true qi. In other words, the foundation building process requires a total of 3,285 breaths of true qi.
For ordinary people, sitting still for a quarter of an hour can bring a mouthful of sweet dew, which is a breath of true energy.
A day is divided into twelve two-hour periods, each lasting eight quarters.
Theoretically, a maximum of ninety-six breaths of true qi can be generated each day.
But in this world, we are all bound by cause and effect.
After deducting time spent traveling, sleeping, and handling daily chores, most people only spend four or five hours a day studying.
In addition, there is the preparation time before sitting down.
One can accumulate no more than thirty breaths of true energy in a day.
At this rate, from the first accumulation of true qi to the completion of foundation building.
It will take about one hundred days.
This is what people often refer to as the "hundred-day foundation building".
Zuo Ruotong is not boasting, but to be frank, he was a rare talent in cultivation when he was young.
It took just over seventy days to complete the foundation building.
This was not because Zuo Ruotong could study for six or seven hours a day; he also had his own studies at the time.
Instead, it entered a state that was even more profound than simply sitting still.
Lost in thought.
The so-called sitting meditation is merely an auxiliary means to help cultivators achieve a state of purity of the six senses.
Those who lack spiritual maturity must sit still to cast aside distracting thoughts.
However, if one's spiritual level is high enough, even if one is caught up in the hustle and bustle of the world and busy with mundane affairs, one's mind can remain calm and one can achieve a state of near-purity of the six senses.
This is called trance.
Once you reach this level, cultivation is no longer limited to sitting still; you can accumulate true qi by walking, sitting, lying down, or standing, as long as you're not sleeping.
Zuo Ruotong was like that back then.
He had an epiphany after practicing for more than thirty days and entered a state of spiritual transcendence. From then on, he could practice whether he was walking, lying down, sitting or standing.
His expectation for Li Cunzhen was that he would enter the realm of transcendence within ten days!
That is, to keep the time spent on foundation building within sixty days!
"If you successfully accumulate your first breath of true energy, you can try the method of transcending the divine."
With these thoughts in mind, and with expectations for Li Cunzhen and a vision for the future of the Sanyi Sect, Zuo Ruotong looked at Li Cunzhen once again.
At this point, he had successfully settled into a seated position.
It is attempting to form the Du and Ren Qi.
It took less than 15 minutes to get into a seated state, and less than 15 minutes after that, I started circulating my qi.
He showed no signs of being a novice in cultivation; on the contrary, he seemed like a seasoned Taoist who had been practicing for many years.
Even though she was mentally prepared, Zuo Ruotong was still somewhat surprised when she saw this scene.
And so, time passed by, second by second.
The Du Qi in the Du Meridian and the Ren Qi in the Ren Meridian gradually take shape.
Li Cunzhen felt a tingling sensation in his body.
He had a sudden inspiration, pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth, and instantly felt a few strands of saliva on his tongue.
The taste is similar to that described in the book, with a refreshing sweetness.
This sweet taste is extremely tempting, making one subconsciously want to swallow these few drops of nectar.
Fortunately, Li Cunzhen kept Zuo Ruotong's reminder in mind and did not make any movement, letting the nectar stay on his tongue.
And so, a quarter of an hour passed.
Li Cunzhen, unhurriedly, followed Zuo Ruotong's method, curling up his tongue and slowly swallowing the nectar.
next moment.
Li Cunzhen clearly sensed it.
The nectar seemed to possess a spirit, flowing down the throat gently and spontaneously.
Then, the dew began to emit a faint warmth, becoming increasingly ethereal and ethereal.
Finally, the nectar entered the dantian, which is three inches below the navel.
It completely transformed into a warm, invisible aura that filled the body.
In an instant.
A feeling of comfort rushed straight to my head.
At the same time, that tingling sensation throughout my body returned, several times more intense.
"Hmm~"
Li Cunzhen felt every pore on his body relax, as if he had suddenly entered a fairyland, and he couldn't help but groan.
Upon witnessing this scene.
Zuo Ruotong's lips suddenly curled up, and she couldn't help but gesticulate wildly.
"good!"
Li Cunzhen's performance today has reached the threshold of entering a state of trance.
At this moment, Zuo Ruotong felt no displeasure that her foundation-building speed was about to be surpassed by her disciples; only the joy that her sect finally had successors.
