Chapter 240: The Full Manifestation of the Void Avatar
Chapter 240: The Full Manifestation of the Void Avatar
Lysa gritted his teeth and gripped his spear tightly: "No matter how strong it is, we cannot back down."
“What’s worse is yet to come,” Sophia said coldly, pointing to the edge of the rift. “It’s expanding, taking the battle to other dimensions of the universe.”
The Void Avatar's rotation accelerated, tearing open more expansion points in the space around the rift. Each expansion point was like a dark gate to other dimensions, from which crimson Void energy continuously surged, eroding the surrounding cosmic rules.
“Its power has transcended a single battlefield.” The observer’s face grew paler as he quickly marked the locations of the expansion points on the star map. “These cracks lead to every dimension of the universe, and if we cannot stop it, it will devour the entire universe.”
Sophia nodded: "We must split up. Otherwise, these rifts will render the guardians of all dimensions powerless."
"Split up?" The Arbiter frowned, brandishing his twin blades. "That will only make us more scattered and easier for it to pick us off one by one!"
“We have no choice,” the Observer said in a deep voice. “Leza and I will be responsible for restraining the true form of the Void Avatar. Kane and Sophia will go and close the expansion point of the rift. Arbitrator, you will lead the remaining Alliance members to support the other dimensions.”
The adjudicator hesitated for a moment, then finally nodded: "Fine. But if you mess this up, don't expect me to come back to save you."
Just as the guardians were about to act, the Void Avatar suddenly launched a counterattack. A brilliant crimson-gold light erupted from the center of the vortex, and countless tentacles extended from its core, each tentacle carrying a powerful energy intertwined with rules and nothingness.
Lessa leaped into the air, his spear tracing a golden arc as it pierced the nearest tentacle. The moment the tentacle was pierced, it split into dozens of smaller tentacles, which coiled back towards Lessa.
"It will split!" Lysa warned sharply, spinning his spear to repel the small tentacles.
Kane formed a barrier of flames, blocking another wave of tentacles, but his flames were noticeably weakened upon contact with the tentacles. "These things are absorbing our power!" Kane gritted his teeth and said.
The observer used the Star Chart Scepter to emit a blue beam of light, severing several tentacles, but soon more tentacles surged from the core of the Void Avatar, seemingly endless.
"Don't linger!" the observer shouted. "Proceed according to plan!"
Kane and Sophia rushed to the edge of the expanding rift. Each expansion point was like a wildly distorted spatial node, surrounded by void energy, with fragments of rules floating within it, as if they might explode at any moment.
“What kind of plan do we need to shut these things down?” Kane asked, his flames flickering under the interference of the void energy.
Sophia observed the structure of the expansion points: "They are the intersection of rules and nothingness. We need to stabilize them with the power of rules, but at the same time we must also bear the backlash of the energy of nothingness."
Kane sneered: "To put it simply, it's about risking your life."
Sophia ignored his sarcasm, instead gathering frost power in her hands to form a massive ice blade, which she then thrust fiercely towards the core of the expansion point. The energy of the expansion point erupted instantly, and a shockwave of nothingness blasted both of them back.
"Don't delay!" Kane roared, his flames transforming into a tornado that blocked the Void Shockwave before attacking the core of the expansion point once more.
“Cooperation!” Sophia warned coldly, “Your flames alone are not enough.”
Working in perfect harmony, the alternating forces of ice and fire finally suppressed the energy flow at one expansion point, and the crack began to slowly close. But they both knew that the remaining expansion points would require more time and effort.
Meanwhile, the Arbiter led the remaining members of the Guardian Alliance to the expansion points of rifts in other dimensions. His goal was to lead more Guardians to stop the spread of nihilistic energy.
In the frigid dimension, a portion of the void energy has already infiltrated, and the Arbiter leads his forces in a fierce battle against the split forms of the Void Avatar. These split forms are more powerful than before; their core of rules has been strengthened by the Void Avatar's main body, raising both their attack and defense capabilities to a new level.
"Don't stop!" the Arbiter roared, his twin blades burning with flames as he cleaved the core of a split entity in two. "Destroy their cores with the power of the rules!"
Other guardians responded in kind, and under the Arbiter's command, they successfully repelled wave after wave of Void Avatar Splits, but the expansion of the dimensional rifts continued unabated.
“Damn it, we need more support!” the Arbitrator said through gritted teeth, but he knew that the Observer and Lysa were facing an even greater threat.
Deep within the rift, the Observer and Lessa faced the true form of the Void Avatar alone. The vortex spun faster and faster, and the surrounding Void energy became increasingly turbulent. The Void Avatar's core barrier prevented them from approaching, while its tentacles, like endless waves, relentlessly suppressed the two.
The Observer's Star Chart Scepter emitted bursts of blue light, but each attack was absorbed by the Void Avatar. His face grew increasingly pale, and cold sweat beaded on his forehead: "Its power is too great; we simply cannot defeat it head-on."
"Then find its weakness!" Lysa shouted sharply, her spear gleaming with a faint golden light. "I will not back down like this!"
With her spear at the center, Lessa formed a barrier of golden light, blocking the tentacled attack of the Void Avatar. She leaped up and hurled the spear toward the core of the vortex, but it bounced back the instant it reached the barrier.
"The barrier is still there!" Lysa said, panting heavily after landing.
The observer stared intently at the spinning trajectory of the avatar of nothingness, a glint of insight flashing in his eyes: "Its rotational speed is not entirely stable! The barrier will weaken briefly at the moment the core power shifts!"
“Then be prepared to tell me when!” Lysa gripped his spear tightly again.
The observer silently manipulated the power of the star chart, capturing the energy fluctuations of the Void Avatar. In that moment, he understood one thing: to defeat the Void Avatar, they would have to pay a heavy price.
The brilliance at the edge of the star map is gradually dimming, and the dazzling galaxy that symbolizes the order of the universe is now being eroded and shattered by the dark red energy of the crack. The tentacles of the crack are spreading to the core of the star map, devouring a large amount of the power of the rules, making the stability of the entire star map extremely precarious.
The observer stood at the center of the star chart, his gaze solemn. The star chart scepter in his hand trembled slightly, emitting a warning hum. This hum was a distress signal from the rules of the star chart, signifying that the balance of the universe was being completely disrupted.
“The power of the star chart is waning.” The observer’s voice was low and calm, but his inner anxiety was hard to conceal.
