Chapter 131 Extraterrestrial Titan
Chapter 131 Extraterrestrial Titan
The Supreme Intelligence spent three hours reorganizing the spatial fluctuation data around Titan and finally concluded that the source of the fluctuations was not Titan, but an unnamed star twelve light-years away from Titan, which was only numbered with a string of numbers.
"The fluctuation pattern is spiral-increasing, with the most recent peak occurring forty-seven days ago, strong enough to tear open a medium-sized wormhole."
"He's looking for something."
The Supreme Intelligence did not inquire into who "he" was; it had learned to remain silent at certain times.
The Lord rose from his throne with a light touch, but everyone in the High Hall tensed up at the same time. Reg reflexively lowered his head by three inches, while the Kree officer next to him went even further, fixing his gaze directly on his toes.
"Get ready, I'm going out for a bit."
Wanda emerged from the side corridor of the hall, clutching a forging list sent by the dwarves. Upon hearing this, she casually handed the list to the Cryptonian beside her: "I am willing to follow my master."
"Return to Asgard," the Holy Lord said calmly.
Wanda nodded without asking any further questions. Having been by the Holy Lord's side for so long, she knew exactly when to ask and when not to.
Out of the corner of his eye, Reg caught a glimpse of Wanda's expression. The young woman's face showed no doubt, no tension, no superfluous emotions; only the words "I understand" were written on her face.
This made Reg even more uneasy. He had observed that Wanda's calmness only occurred in two situations: when the matter was insignificant, or when the matter was so significant that there was nothing to be nervous about.
He bet it was the latter.
The beam of light from the Rainbow Bridge struck down once more.
As the two disappeared into the rainbow light, Aite happened to be walking from the direction of the military factory and saw the tail of the beam of light.
"The king is gone?"
The Asgardian warrior beside him nodded.
Aitley wiped the grease off his hands and asked, "How many people did you bring?"
"Only that woman."
Asgard, the Golden Palace.
As the rainbow light touched the ground, the palace remained as golden as ever. The star map on the dome slowly rotated, and several guards knelt on one knee to pay their respects upon seeing the newcomers, their movements swift and decisive without the slightest hesitation.
"The treasure vault," the Holy Lord said in a low voice.
The guards led the way, and the layers of doors beneath the Golden Palace opened one after another. The deepest part was Odin's treasury, or rather, the spoils of war of the Holy Lord. It contained the most dangerous and precious things in the Nine Realms.
The corridor was long, with runes embedded in the walls on both sides lighting up automatically. Wanda walked half a step behind: "Master."
"Um."
"The message from Titan is Thanos."
"You have a good memory."
Wanda lowered her head. She still remembered the scene in that timeline where Shendu casually suppressed Thanos. Thanos used all his strength, but the result was meaningless.
The doors to the vault opened, revealing various items on display stands on either side: the remnants of the Eternal Flame, fragments of the Book of Destiny, and the control core of the Winter Coffin. However, inside was a previously destroyed secret chamber.
On the innermost platform sits a blue cube, the Cosmic Cube.
Space Stone.
One of the six Infinity Stones.
Wanda looked at the cube and could feel the energy pulsating inside. The frequency of the chaotic magic within her body resonated with that of the gem, and a few strands of red light emerged from her fingertips. She clenched her fist, and the light strands retracted.
The Holy Lord walked to the platform, reached out and picked up the Cosmic Cube. There was no energy burst, and the platform did not shake.
He picked it up, as if taking a cup from the table.
"I'm leaving," the Holy Lord said calmly after receiving the Rubik's Cube.
"To Titan?" Wanda asked.
"Go where he is." The Holy Lord's tone remained unchanged.
Wanda followed him out, and after a few steps she suddenly said, "Master, the Supreme Intelligence says the source of the wave is twelve light-years away from Titan. There are no teleportation coordinates there, and the Rainbow Bridge has no anchor point."
"unnecessary."
The Holy Lord flipped the Cosmic Cube in his hand, and blue light leaked out from between his fingers.
"Yes, we have this."
Wanda stopped speaking. The Space Stone, literally the Space Stone, allows point-to-point teleportation without coordinates or anchor points, as long as the user knows where the destination is, or more precisely, wherever the user wants to go.
The two returned to the ground. Outside the dome of the Golden Palace was the sky of Asgard, where the arc of the stars was arranged completely differently from the universe beyond the Nine Realms.
Heimdall stood at the palace gate.
No one noticed when this golden-eyed guardian arrived; he simply stood there, clad in black and gold armor, his hands gripping the hilt of the ritual sword.
"king."
"You saw it?"
"I've noticed the spatial fluctuations in the direction of Titan." Heimdall's golden eyes darted around. "That thing... it's alive."
The Holy Lord did not respond to this statement.
Heimdall hesitated for a moment, as was rare for him: "Is it necessary to...?"
"No need," the Holy Lord interrupted, cutting off Heimdall's remaining words.
The Golden-Eyed Guardian glanced at Wanda, who stood behind Shendu with no change in expression. Heimdall saw something very complex in her eyes.
That's the composure only someone who has witnessed the ending can possess.
"Watch over Asgard for me."
"Yes."
The Holy Lord gripped the Cosmic Cube in his right hand, and a blue light suddenly shone brightly. Space cracked open beneath their feet, folding and creating a fissure. The two stepped into the folded fissure and disappeared.
Heimdall stood still, his golden eyes tracking the folded trajectory of space, traversing galaxies, passing through nebulae, and skimming over countless desolate planets until he saw the end.
A gray planet without a number, its surface barren, without an atmosphere or water, only rocks and rift valleys.
At the deepest part of the rift valley, there is a chair.
A chair carved from stone.
A person is sitting in the chair.
Saying it's a "person" isn't quite accurate; the outline is too big. Even sitting down, it's a head taller than an average person standing up.
Heimdall's golden eyes became blurry at that moment—not because the distance was too great, but because the very existence itself interfered with his observation. He had observed the universe for eight hundred years, and this was the first time he had been disturbed.
He looked away; he didn't need to inquire about the king's affairs.
Space folds and unfolds.
Beneath their feet were gray rocks, and above them was no sky, only the universe directly exposed. This planet didn't even have an atmosphere, but for Shendu and Wanda, standing on it was no different than standing on flat ground.
Wanda looked around.
This place is extremely desolate, consisting of nothing but rocks, endless gray rocks. The horizon is curved, indicating that this planet is not large, with a radius of perhaps only three or four hundred kilometers.
"He's down there," Wanda said.
The Holy Lord walked forward.
Footsteps do not travel in a vacuum, but the rocks beneath your feet are cracking, and with each step, a radial crack appears in the ground.
A crimson light appeared on Wanda's hand, and something was moving deep within this rift valley.
