Chapter 3 Rejection
Chapter 3 Rejection
As the start of the workday approached, Wei Hongsi returned to the company, accessed the model running in the background, and found that the data analysis had indeed been completed.
The analysis and evaluation of schemes A, C, and D were almost identical to those obtained from the model previously run at the company.
Only Option B received a negative evaluation from the data analysis.
When Wei Hongsi was writing this algorithm model, he considered many special cases and extreme results, but this was the first time he had encountered such a case study, which made him feel excited.
I reviewed the settings of all parameters in this analysis and confirmed that they were all within a reasonable range.
A comparison of the analysis results of the other three schemes revealed a high degree of convergence in the key data and fluctuation curves of the two models, which is another strong piece of evidence.
Upon closer examination of the heatmap for Scheme B and comparison of multiple eye-tracking indicators in the two analyses, it was confirmed that the conclusions of the second analysis were credible.
This means that a significant number of participants subconsciously experienced negative emotions after viewing Option B.
There's definitely a big problem!
Wei Hongsi was absolutely certain that this was neither a coincidence nor a mistake. He would eat the monitor on his desk if it weren't for meticulous design, which allowed Solution B to achieve this effect.
After thinking for a moment, he posted an application on WD, requesting access to the "Cognitive Mirror System".
The application was rejected by the supervisor less than two minutes later.
Wei Hongsi frowned and tapped his fingers lightly on the table a few times.
Then I opened the standard report template and filled it out according to the analysis results of my model, only making some modifications to a few key expressions to make the report content look less abrupt.
This report was submitted successfully without any issues.
Through the feedback information on WD, Wei Hongsi saw that the report had passed the supervisor's review and had been transferred from his department to department eight. The corners of his mouth couldn't help but curl up slightly.
He Feng didn't ask anything, which means either he didn't carefully review the report, or he did it on purpose.
But none of that matters; as long as the report is submitted, the objective is achieved.
……
……
Around 4 PM, He Feng came to find Wei Hongsi, his face long, and demanded, "How did you handle that analysis commission from the Eighth Department?"
Wei Hongsi spread his hands: "It was made by hand."
He Feng glared at me: "Don't try to be witty. The client's come knocking; you'd better go and give them an explanation!"
Wei Hongsi looked at He Feng, neither getting up nor saying a word.
"Let's go!" He Feng raised his voice significantly, immediately attracting everyone's attention.
Wei Hongsi looked puzzled: "Which way?"
He Feng gritted his teeth and said, "Come with me!" Then he walked outside.
Wei Hongsi stood up and followed He Feng at a distance.
Judging from the other person's gait, they have likely gone from pretending to be angry to actually being angry.
The two entered the elevator, went down to the 8th floor, and entered a conference room. There were already seven or eight people inside, sitting on either side of the conference table.
Five people were sitting on the side against the wall, with Lu Jiaqi in the center of the main seat; three men were sitting on the side near the door, who were naturally the clients.
"Manager He, Engineer Wei, please sit here." Lu Jiaqi raised her hand, gesturing for the two to sit in the two empty seats to her left.
Wei Hongsi sat down on the outside of He Feng and took the opportunity to look at the three people opposite him.
The man in the middle was about thirty-five years old, with a rather robust build. His angular face held a hint of anger, and if it weren't for the gold-rimmed glasses on his nose that added a touch of refinement, he would look exactly like a gangster looking for a fight.
On either side of that person were a middle-aged man in his forties and a young man in his mid-twenties, both with expressionless faces.
Because it was a last-minute meeting, there were no name cards on the table. After the two sat down, Lu Jiaqi extended her right palm towards the center opposite them: "Let me introduce you. This is General Manager Ji from 'Paradise Beverages.' And this is…"
"President Lu, we don't need to go through this formality." President Ji waved his hand, interrupting her introduction. "My name is Ji Cheng, Cheng as in honesty. First, I'd like to ask, who prepared this analysis report?"
Just as Wei Hongsi was about to speak, a line of blood-red text suddenly appeared in front of him.
[Task: Prevent BGG's plans to advertise beverages on mobile media at the theme park]
Come again?
Fortunately, I had already had two similar experiences that morning, so I had a certain level of tolerance. Otherwise, if I had performed a tactical backbend in public, the people present wouldn't know how to interpret it.
Is it true that simply issuing tasks doesn't come with any rewards?
After Ji Cheng finished speaking, his gaze swept back and forth between He Feng and Wei Hongsi, but no one responded, and his face darkened.
He Feng quickly looked at Wei Hongsi on his left, a look of disgust on his face.
Seeing the awkward situation, Lu Jiaqi was about to smooth things over when Wei Hongsi said, "I did it."
Ji Cheng stared at Wei Hongsi: "Do you know how much effort and money we've already invested in launching that beverage this month?"
Wei Hongsi shook his head: "I don't know."
Ji Cheng's gaze sharpened: "Do you know that Option B received the highest score from the expert reviewers and is also the one that our company's senior management unanimously favors?"
Wei Hongsi continued to shake his head: "I don't know."
Ji Cheng frowned: "Don't you think we should say something else?"
Wei Hong thought for a moment, then said, "Congratulations!"
Even Lu Jiaqi couldn't help but glance at him, and He Feng even nudged Wei Hongsi with his elbow.
"Heh~" Ji Cheng uttered a long sound, it was hard to tell whether he was sighing or laughing.
"Mr. Ji, I'm so sorry," Lu Jiaqi quickly apologized.
Ji Cheng looked at Lu Jiaqi: "President Lu, we've cooperated several times before. I entrusted this project to you and your company because I trusted you. But your analysis report turned our GG procurement into an accident, and ruined our promotional preparations. Who will take responsibility for this?"
"Mr. Ji, please don't be in a hurry." Lu Jiaqi turned her head to look at Wei Hongsi, and then said to Ji Cheng, "I think there must be a special reason for this."
"Heh." Ji Cheng sneered and said rudely, "President Lu, don't think that data analysis is necessarily reliable. In the end, GG is for people to see! Do you think that so many experts, including my team, can't tell the quality of the GG solution?"
"Oh, I bought a cabinet and wanted you to help me see where it would fit, but you're telling me it should be thrown away. You even got the orientation wrong, you know?!"
"Mr. Ji, how about we produce another report? We guarantee it can be delivered by tomorrow morning," He Feng said quickly.
Lu Jiaqi was somewhat taken aback. She glanced at He Feng on her left, her lips slightly parted but no sound came out.
"Well... that works then." Ji Cheng nodded thoughtfully. "But..."
"I disagree!"
Ji Cheng was interrupted before he could even say "but".
Everyone present looked at the speaker and discovered that it was the one who couldn't speak.
For a moment, the air in the conference room seemed to freeze.
