Chapter 22 The Difference Between Having a Brain and Not Having a Brain
Chapter 22 The Difference Between Having a Brain and Not Having a Brain
Miss Sharon's teacher was Renette Tinicol, Klein's messenger.
Earlier this year, Sharon unexpectedly reconnected with Klein during a conversation... or rather, "He".
Under Renette's guidance, Sharon begins preparations to become a demigod, searching for the "Pharaoh's Mummy" needed for the ritual.
Just then, the Kingdom of Rune stole the mummy of Tutankhamun II from the southern continent. Sharon once again sought Klein's help. In the midst of a melee among several demigods, she managed to snatch the mummy and, after making thorough preparations, advanced to Sequence 4.
At this moment, Sharon is involved in Raphael's planned operation in hopes of obtaining more clues about members of the "Indulgence Faction".
Especially recently, with the "Temperance Faction" collaborating with vampires and the bloodline to deal with the "Indulgence Faction's" demigods in Backlund, she certainly wouldn't let this opportunity to obtain clues slip by.
Originally, with a demigod participating in the battle, this operation was risk-free. However, the "Wraith" Wolf possessed a sealing artifact comparable to the "Apostle of Desire," and sensed that he would encounter danger during tonight's operation.
They suspected that this was likely a trap set by the "Temperance Faction," so they decided to send in a demigod to eliminate Sharon and Marich in one fell swoop.
The "indulgence faction" was not surprised by Marich's promotion, but they were completely taken aback that Sharon would also be promoted!
Raphael was unaware of these details. His wolf-like eyes, upon seeing the crimson in the mist, caused the blood-red color that had just disappeared to reappear.
He felt that the full moon was hidden behind the mist, and that as soon as the "full moon" broke through the mist, he would lose all his reason and become a bloodthirsty werewolf.
This is of course the ability of the "Witch King". This method, at Sequence 5, grants the ability of "Full Moon", which can make an area a full moon state.
This "full moon" state is an ordeal for "werewolfs," "zombies," and "vengeful spirits."
Raphael used the last bit of his sanity to turn and flee the battlefield. Under the influence of the "Full Moon," the "zombie" Ackerman's eyes were gradually replaced by madness, and he immediately chased after Raphael.
Marich and Wolf were both weakened, but they were still able to overcome their current condition and did not flee to fight elsewhere.
At the same time, the battle between the two demigods began. Sharon, who was hiding somewhere, let out a piercing shriek towards the crimson moonlight. Even the "vengeful spirit" Wolf, who was not Sharon's main target, was affected, and the shadowy figure he had transformed into suddenly froze.
The moonlight in the mist dimmed, but the next second, in response to the shriek, a dozen arrows formed from crimson moonlight shot out from the mist.
Fortunately, Raphael ran away early; otherwise, the aftershocks of the battle between the two demigods would have been enough to leave him in a very sorry state.
After running desperately for two streets, as the crimson moonlight disappeared into the mist, the bloodshot in Raphael's eyes gradually faded, and he regained his sanity.
Turning his head slightly, he saw the "living corpse" Ackerman, whose face had little flesh left, chasing after him. Raphael dared not slow down at all.
The two chased each other, encountering some pedestrians along the way. However, due to their high speed and the fog on the street, the passersby could not see what was running past them.
Fortunately, they couldn't see clearly, otherwise they would have had nightmares for days afterward.
Raphael was somewhat better off, being just an ordinary werewolf, but Ackerman's face no longer resembled that of a living person.
Raphael, who was running ahead, felt that the distance between him and Ackerman was gradually closing. The "zombie" was much faster than the "werewolf." However, Ackerman had been seriously injured by Marich's "possession" earlier, which slowed him down a bit.
Even so, Raphael realized that the "zombies" behind him would catch up in half a minute at most.
Fortunately, he was very familiar with the surrounding terrain, and after a little thought, he came up with a solution.
Raphael suddenly roared, smashed through a wall, entered a secluded alley, and ran for a while before arriving at another street.
The street was very wide, and even at night, many horse-drawn carriages traveled along it.
Under the light of the lantern, many coachmen saw the figures of Raphael and Ackerman. Some rubbed their eyes, thinking they were seeing things, while others quickly prayed to their gods...
However, they soon became busy because Raphael's "werewolf" appearance had startled the horses, and they had to quickly calm them down to prevent a collision.
Raphael ran for a few more seconds and arrived at the Backlund Bridge. This area is called the Bridge District because there are two wide bridges across the Tasok River nearby, connecting the two sides of the Backlund town.
So even at night, many horse-drawn carriages still cross the bridge on this road.
More and more coachmen saw Raphael and Ackerman, and immediately the surrounding area echoed with exclamations such as: "Oh God..." "By the storm, what is that..." "By the goddess, is that a standing wolf..." "By the steam, I must not have been devout enough to see such a thing..."
The bridge suddenly became chaotic. Raphael, fleeing for his life, quickly weaved through the carriages. Once on the bridge, he braced himself against the railing and jumped into the Tasok River.
Ackerman snorted coldly. "The zombies" are not afraid of fire or water. They're dreaming if they think they can get rid of him in the river.
So he leaped forward and jumped down as well.
But as the body was falling downwards, it was suddenly discovered that Raphael had not jumped into the water at all, but had instead stuck his sharp claws into the bridge and was hanging there!
Ackerman gritted his teeth in anger, but he was just a "living corpse" and did not have the abilities of a "vengeful spirit" or "mirror jump." He could only glare at Raphael, feel the pull of gravity, and fall into the water.
Raphael used his strength to jump back onto the wall, then shouted something that no one around him could understand: "One male guest! Hahaha~"
After saying that, he laughed arrogantly and quickly fled the scene.
Ackerman was also quick, and soon climbed from the Tasok River to the bank, but Raphael had already disappeared.
At this moment, Raphael slipped into a small alley. Using his knowledge of the surrounding terrain, he made several turns and quickly entered a secluded alley.
As he ran quickly, he grabbed a piece of clothing hanging outside to dry and tied it to his face.
Immediately afterwards, Raphael ended his transformation and returned to his normal human form.
His shirt ripped again during the transformation, but because he was wearing loose pants, the pants survived.
After turning another corner, Raphael casually pushed open a door and strode inside.
The family of four living here was having dinner when they were stunned to see Raphael.
The man who suddenly barged in had wheat-colored skin, a strong physique, a gun slung across his shoulder, and a somewhat arrogant look in his eyes. His face... his face was covered with a woman's bra.
