Chapter 554 Batman, Superman, Anti-Monitor, and the Three-Way Alliance
Chapter 554 Batman, Superman, Anti-Monitor, and the Three-Way Alliance
Chapter 554 Batman, Superman, and the Anti-Monitor: A Three-Way Alliance?
"...even a cosmic crisis!"
"...Crisis...crisis...crisis..."
Parallax Mohal paused for a moment.
He felt the timeline before him was fluctuating, as if they had never truly existed.
"What is this?"
He asked in a low voice, then shouted, "Who did this? Who dares to...?"
Then Parallax Morhal clutched his head.
He had just loudly questioned many of his former companions who were confronting him, but the act of questioning them had just been erased from the timeline.
The heroes did not hear his question because the event "Parallax Morhal questions the heroes" does not exist in the timeline.
Who can disrupt his parallax timeline at this powerful moment when he is on the verge of destroying the universe, reshaping the timeline, and erasing all existence?
Impossible. Parallax Morhal's existence is unshakeable. No one can do such a thing, not even the Anti-Monitors at their peak, unless the Green Lantern Corps never existed.
Parallax Mohal was about to say something or take some action, but the next moment his memory of "noticing the timeline being altered" was erased. He completely forgot what he had noticed, and then suddenly remembered it the next moment.
Amidst this constant cycle of remembering and forgetting, Parallax continued speaking, addressing the assembled heroes:
"On my planet, all of this will get better."
"Listen, Jordan! You beat me to a pulp a few months ago. If you think I'll let you off the hook, then..."
The one who interrupted Parallax Mohal in the silence was Guy Gardner, who had brown-orange hair and a bull-like face.
This hot-tempered Green Lantern possesses extraordinary courage, or perhaps recklessness; he doesn't care at all about the terrifying demon he faces, who could easily kill him, even though he's currently disguised as Hal Jordan.
(Note: Guy Gardner, a key figure in the Green Lantern Corps and the greatest Red Lantern, once usurped the position of Red Lantern leader from Athocitus in the New 52 storyline. His DNA contains extraterrestrial ancestry, allowing him to transform his body into weapons.)
"But we can't make things difficult for him, Warrior. This is the only way to rebuild our world!" Some of the superheroes agreed with Hal's words.
Batwoman Barbara Gordon immediately retorted to the superhero called Victorious: "Whose world? Victorious? Yours or mine?"
(Note: Barbara Gordon, Batgirl, is the daughter of Gotham City Commissioner Gordon. Note that Batgirl and Batwoman Kate Kane are not the same person.)
"Everyone's world. You all want your friends and loved ones back in your lives, and so do I," Parallax Mohal said.
"This is the parallax monster you owe me! I risked my life for you! I want my world back!" The one who spoke through gritted teeth was the villain [Mocun]. As a time-based villain, Hal Jordan had been manipulating him and using him to orchestrate the "Zero Hour" crisis.
"How could you collude with a scoundrel like Mo Cun, Jordan? Did he give you the power to do such a thing?"
No, that's wrong. It was Parallax Morhal who manipulated Silence.
"No, Mo Cun believes in my beliefs, and you should believe in them too."
Parallax Morhal felt the timeline begin to vibrate again, like a drum beating incessantly.
"Oh, really? Give me a plausible reason," Guy Gardner said.
"I have already told Gardner that the tragedy in Seaside City was merely a harbinger of impending catastrophe. The only solution is a new world, a new universe!"
"Are you serious? You can create life?"
Faced with Guy Gardner's questioning, Parallax Morhal gently opened his palm, and then, an endless universe appeared in his hand, filling a blank timeline.
This was just a small demonstration of his skills.
"Watch closely, all this nascent ionic energy will soon condense into a planet teeming with life."
The universe, the world, and the countless stars are like a perfect world drawn on a blank comic panel.
Gaygardner groaned, "You've gone mad, Jordan—this feat is beyond human capability!"
"The temporal energy I control is sufficient to accomplish anything, and the knowledge needed to rebuild the universe was personally transmitted to me by the Guardians of the Universe."
Parallax Morhal explained, "It all stems from our last battle with Gardner. I realized that rebuilding Seaside City was actually for a deeper, more personal desire..."
A yearning to reverse time and space.
At that moment, I understood how to refocus on my own energy. It took a lot of effort, but I eventually slipped into the stream of time and discovered something strange there.
He said:
"An energy anomaly is a remnant of our struggle against the Anti-Monitors. I successfully extracted some of this energy and found a path to the end of time."
(Note: The Anti-Monitor was defeated and killed in Crisis on Infinite Earths. Part of his antimatter energy was absorbed by Parallax Morhal, and the person who obtained the other part is also very familiar to everyone:)
Alexander Luthor Jr. imbued Superman Supreme with this antimatter energy during the *Infinite Crisis* era, which explains why he went from an ordinary hero in *Crisis on Infinite Earths* to being so powerful.
"That is where entropy lies... a force that is perhaps the most destructive. As you can see, the beginning of time is connected to the camera, which is essentially an infinite loop. All I have to do is tighten that loop, and things in between will survive."
In an instant, the universe he conjured in his palm filled the void of time. The universe was born and destroyed, all things grew, planets reunited, and the world, like a bubble, filled the empty universe with vibrant colors.
This was a sight beyond the reach of human thought and wisdom; a brand new world was being openly reshaped before everyone's eyes, leaving all the heroes present speechless with awe.
"This is incredible... We are witnessing the birth of a new century!" a superhero stammered.
"That's true, but I think it's gone a bit too far," Gagardner said.
"Why?" Parallax Mohal smiled. "I wiped away the tragedy of Seaside City, along with all our other misfortunes!"
"Listen to me, Guy, my brother, my dearest friend, I can bring back all those fallen men, Kilowog, the entire Legion—and more!"
(Note: Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern Corps' chief instructor, during the Emerald Twilight era, stormed the Oa headquarters and massacred the entire Green Lantern Corps, including his close friend Kirowog.)
"Why should we stop? Why not create two Earths, one for us, and the other for the Justice Society, where they can remain forever young!"
Faced with such a magnificent sight, even Gagardner was speechless: "This...this certainly looks much better than the deaths we've experienced, but what is the price?"
"I also hope that my metropolis, my world... can be presented to me once again..."
The heroes are wavering, even Batwoman Barbara:
"I'm an outsider and I'm a little out of step with you all... I come from another timeline, but I also have a life, feelings, and memories, and I exist just as realistically as you. All I want is to survive!"
"Of course you will. You'll return to Gotham's embrace, and Alpha Centurion will get his Metropolis!"
Parallax Morhal said, "In my universe, everything will become what it is meant to be, and everyone will win..."
What?
Parallax Morhal blinked as he saw everything before him disappearing, even the world he had just created.
A flood of memories, both of which he constantly sensed and then lost, surged through his mind. Parallax Mohal finally became fully aware of the anomaly in the Hypertime Stream, which meant that the Hypertime Stream was completely collapsing and could no longer sustain the current events before him.
"Wait, I..."
Guy Gardner, Batgirl, Merz, and all the other superheroes in front of him, even the Baby Universe he created, all vanished, leaving only a blank space before Hal Jordan.
This means that these people never even appeared in front of him!
"Who is it? Who dares to do this?!"
Hal Jordan felt a force trying to erase him from the timeline, but this force could not overcome him.
He was too strong, so strong that he was like a giant iron bar, stubbornly resisting the excavator's digging and forcibly maintaining his existence in the already pulverized "dried cement" road.
Despite this, Parallax Mohal was still furious that his timeline had been shattered by someone else.
He placed himself above the level of God, even at the cost of slaughtering billions of lives, though he later gave even more lives.
He treated life as a plaything, the universe as clay, and he was about to reshape the world. He was about to succeed and no one could stop him anymore. But at this moment, everything suddenly became blank.
He once thought of giving Superman an indestructible Krypton, so that Captain Atom could relive the past. He wanted to erase all darkness and pain, and he still remembered the happy years when he was still a hero.
He wants to help his friends, so he needs to erase all existence in order to create an unprecedented ideal reality, a paradise, a new century!
But now... which blind bastard dares to stop all of this? Stop Hal Jordan, the greatest Green Lantern, from doing good?
Parallax Morhal realized that stopping all of this, changing reality to this extent, and completely ignoring his immense power to manipulate timelines, erasing the entire situation from its root, was something that could not be achieved by merely altering the timeline.
There is only one way to achieve this effect:
To prevent the Guardians of the Universe from mastering the emotional spectrum at its source, thereby preventing the birth of the Green Lantern Corps.
In that case, Parallax would never have touched the Green Lantern Ring again, and naturally he would not have become the great Green Lantern, nor would he have gained these powerful abilities.
But if we do that, how much damage will it do to the entire universe? Who would rather prevent the birth of the Green Lantern Corps and do such a disgraceful thing that harms others and oneself than stop Hal Jordan?
Parallax Mohal was furious. He opened his palm, and endless energy burst forth from it. Then he found the culprit that caused the ripples and changed his timeline, so he tore open space and took a step out.
"Anti-surveillance agents?"
When Parallax Morhal traversed the infinite hypertime stream and set foot on Earth-15, he was immediately astonished to see the Anti-Monitor, who had already turned into a dragon. He recognized the Anti-Monitor even when it was reduced to ashes, after all, it was a demon king that once required the gathering of countless heroes from the entire multiverse to defeat.
Then he saw Batman.
Upon seeing the green light, Chen Tao immediately stopped his outrageous act of cheating. He reverted to his classic Batman look, suppressed his smile, and appeared more like a superhero than anyone else.
"Hal Jordan?" Superman turned his head and saw Parallax the Devil Hal, then his face showed undisguised disgust: "You worthless thing, you're still alive?"
(Note: The Superman Supreme in front of us comes from the Sinestro Legion Wars era, specifically the timeline of Crisis on Infinite Earths → Zero Hour → Infinite Crisis → Sinestro Legion Wars. Therefore, Superman Supreme knows about Parallax Mohal's actions and deeply despises him as a low-quality hero. He also committed the actions in Infinite Crisis because he despised the behavior of the heroes in the main world.)
"Little Superman?" Parallax Mohal was also taken aback.
Because he came from "Zero Hour", he had no idea about the history of "Infinite Crisis" and his impression of Superman Supreme was still that of the disciple of the two old Supermen on Earth during the "Infinite Earth Crisis" period.
"Never mind." However, Parallax Morhal didn't pay much attention to Superman Supreme at all.
He's here now to find the culprit.
The anti-surveillance man's heart skipped a beat, and then he saw the other person turn their gaze to him.
"No way???"
Then Chen Tao sensed the telepathic connection with the Anti-Monitor. After receiving Barbatos's power, this guy actually also possessed this telepathic ability.
"Batman, a truly dangerous person has appeared. We need to work together."
Chen Tao remained silent.
What do you think?
However, the arrival of Parallax Morhal also made him uneasy. It was a pity that he had already sent the Time Master and the Golden Vanguard to find out the time of Darkseid's death in the "Final Crisis" period. Otherwise, he could have asked these two time travelers what the appearance of Parallax Morhal meant.
But no matter how you look at it, it's definitely not a good thing... probably.
Seeing that Batman remained unmoved, the Anti-Monitor's voice became more urgent than ever: "Do you know what his presence here means? We must find a way to subdue him, erase his memories, and put him back into his original timeline, otherwise..."
puff!
Before the Anti-Monitor could finish speaking, Chen Tao watched helplessly as Parallax Mohal appeared behind him, piercing his chest with a single hand: "You are much weaker than I remember, Anti-Monitor... wait, you are not the real thing."
Chen Tao fell silent.
"You've made a huge mess of things. The Hypertime Stream is in deep trouble. Even I don't want that monster Parallax Morhal to keep causing chaos in the Hypertime Stream... We need to work together..."
The anti-surveillance agent thought he would have to say something more, but then he heard Batman say:
"We're teammates, aren't we? We're brothers, best friends!"
Who's with you...
The anti-surveillance advocates stopped talking nonsense.
boom!
Parallax Mohal turned around and caught Superman Supreme's returning fist with his other hand: "And what's wrong with you now?"
"All defective products and garbage deserve to die. You don't deserve to be called a hero, you're just a villain, Hal Jordan."
Superman the Primal insulted Hal without any politeness, for he despised these degenerate heroes the most.
The phrase "not a hero" hit Parallax Morhal's sore spot.
This made Parallax Mohal lose all interest in saying a word to him.
He slapped Superman Supreme away like a comet, and in the blink of an eye Superman Supreme rushed back, his eyes flashing with heat vision as he stared at Parallax Morhal.
Meanwhile, Chen Tao was secretly pondering how he should make his move.
Even he had to admit that Parallax Morhal, this monster who suddenly barged into the battlefield, actually forced him, Superman Supreme, and the Anti-Monitor to show signs of forming a joint force.
