After everyone had recovered, Moen called them all up and gathered them on the cliff.
"The plan has changed; the infiltration has been replaced by a full-scale assault!"
Moen's first words stunned everyone.
"Have we been discovered?"
Mirajane blinked and asked, her first thought being that their infiltration had been discovered by the enemy, forcing them to launch a full-scale attack.
"Well, not really. It's just that we don't need to go through all that trouble anymore. Erza's friends have all become high-ranking members of this evil cult, so even if we're discovered, they won't be killed."
Moen explained with a smile, and this news naturally made everyone look at each other in surprise. Everyone looked at Erza, concerned about Erza's feelings.
"Let's all go together! Don't hold back!"
Erza spoke with a firm expression.
"They are my comrades, but so are you. Don't go easy on them; prioritize your own safety."
Looking at her concerned companions, Erza was moved. Her words were sincere; she also didn't want anything to happen to her current companions. When fighting the enemy, don't have a mental burden from the start. You might want to hold back, but the enemy won't.
Erza herself wasn't sure what state her companions were in now. She thought of Jellal's transformation, of that extreme evil change. If the others had become like that, they certainly wouldn't have shown any mercy.
Erza's attitude relieved everyone and lifted some of their burdens.
Of course, if possible, everyone would naturally go easy on her. The fact that everyone in the guild has such good relationships also has its drawbacks. In this situation, it's hard to really not care about Erza's feelings.
"Watch me knock them all out!"
Natsu shouted that he loved sneaking in and becoming a powerful attacker. He found sneaking around unpleasant and believed they should just charge in with their fists of justice. He didn't believe anyone could stop them; after all, they were Fairy Tail!
"Come with me, prepare for battle!"
This time, Moen didn't tell Natsu to shut up. Instead, he waved his hand and led everyone towards the "Tower of Paradise".
"What information have you gathered?"
Makarov approached Moen and asked curiously.
Throughout the journey, the old man did not participate in any decision-making, leaving it entirely to the younger generation. He was truly there to provide support, speaking very little and simply observing everyone's actions attentively.
"It's really just average."
Moen's answer was concise: there weren't many powerful "big shots" in this "Tower of Paradise," and the most difficult one to deal with was probably Gerald, who was in charge of all of this.
"Or rather, it's worse than I imagined."
Moen added that, below Jellal, the other officers were Erza's childhood friends, a composition so weak that it completely exceeded Moen's expectations.
According to Erza, when she left the Tower of Paradise, none of her companions knew how to use magic at all.
In these eight years, how much have these people grown? Can they compare to Erza? Moen thought it was basically impossible.
That Jellal might be on Erza's level, after all, he looks like a boss on par with Erza.
"That makes sense."
Makarov wasn't surprised by Moen's answer. After all, this "evil order" had been dealt such a severe blow by the "Magic Council," so the remaining survivors naturally wouldn't be very strong.
"Actually, the higher-ups are no longer that evil cult; they've been completely replaced by Gerald. It's just that the people below haven't been replaced."
According to Erza's additions and the information revealed by those "mole" members, Moen has almost figured out the situation of the "Tower of Paradise". However, this also makes him more puzzled as to what exactly caused Jellal's change.
Moen believed that this doubt would soon be resolved, and he was now increasingly certain that this was definitely a small dungeon involving only a few people, and that their current lineup was simply bullying them, a case of "using a cannon to kill a mosquito."
"Don't block my way!"
Natsu took the lead and knocked away a patrol team he encountered on the road.
These grunts are utterly useless against the elites of Fairy Tail; they don't even act as "speed bumps" and are basically taken down in a single encounter.
"Sizzle!"
As the ice spread, Gray clapped his hands, freezing the entire group into blocks of ice.
Who could deal with these rabble was whoever acted fastest, and the group easily made their way to the unfinished spire.
Their raid was so fast that the Tower of Paradise didn't even know they were being invaded. The patrols were dealt with so cleanly that they served no warning purpose whatsoever.
"Looking at it now, it's actually almost finished."
Standing beneath the "R System" tower, Moen narrowed his eyes. The tower was nearing completion; its main structure was finished, and it looked like it would only take a few more months to build.
This plot unfolded around the latter half of X784.
"Who are you people?!"
Moen and his group had just rushed to the foot of the "Tower of Paradise" when they were immediately discovered by the enemy. The defenses here were very tight, and it was impossible to hide anymore. Now they really had to launch a full-scale attack.
"Where is Gerald?!"
Erza rushed forward and shouted a question.
She wore the silver-white "Heavenly Wheel Armor," looking incredibly dashing. Her expression was extremely serious, even tinged with anger. She was furious that Gerald had turned everyone into villains and his subordinates.
"Grab them!"
Erza's words naturally went unanswered, and the soldiers in uniform rushed towards the group in a swarm.
Besides the soldiers, there were many working slaves who looked bewildered, seemingly unaware of what was happening.
"Stop it! Back up! Go back into the tower!"
Some guards rushed forward to attack, while others watched over the slaves. They busied themselves, escorting all the slaves into the tower to prevent them from getting in the way.
The incident happened so suddenly that the slaves were completely unprepared. They didn't have time to react and were immediately herded back by the guards.
"boom!"
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!"
"Ice Design - Snow Cannon!"
Natsu and Gray unleashed their full power, clearing out a large number of the charging minions. Their other companions also displayed their unique abilities, unleashing a variety of magical attacks to cleanse the area.
Ice, fire, water, iron, bullets, painting magic, card magic, word magic—these flashy attacks alone were enough to shock the enemy. Erza, along with Mirajane, Elfman, and Joey, charged forward, easily clearing out a large number of enemies with a flurry of punches, kicks, and sword strikes.
"Hmph! Is this all the weaklings you have? Where are all the strongmen here?! Come out now! Let's have a good fight!"
Looking at the remaining timid soldiers who dared not take another step forward, Natsu breathed out a mouthful of fire and shouted loudly.
Clearly, Natsu wasn't satisfied with just fighting these grunts; he craved challenging the strong and had no interest in bullying the weak.
"This child has always been full of energy."
Seeing Natsu's arrogant attitude, Makarov, who was standing next to Moen, shook his head with a smile. The two of them did not make a move, but just watched from behind. There was no need for them to take action in this situation.
"That's Natsu's strength. He never knows fear, he's always confident, and he dares to face all challenges and difficulties. What doesn't kill him makes him stronger. I'm quite curious if he ever feels scared, except when he's on a vehicle."
Moen spoke, his tone full of admiration. As he got older and dealt with more and more things, Moen actually appreciated Natsu's personality more and more.
It's important to understand that even someone like him, who has been reincarnated twice and possesses a "cheat code," often cannot be as single-mindedly confident in himself as Natsu. When dealing with certain matters, Moen sometimes feels powerless and sometimes finds himself in a very difficult situation.
Like Natsu, who is single-minded and incredibly sincere, this is indeed a powerful "personality talent." "Great personality" is not a joke, but a real thing. Even if such a person is not the protagonist of the world, he can certainly be the protagonist of his own life.
This already puts them ahead of the vast majority of people. In this world, there are many who are not in control of their own lives, many who cannot even take control of their own lives, and many who cannot be the protagonist of their own lives.
"Damn it! Someone's actually gotten close to the tower!"
As Natsu roared wildly and even began breathing flames at the "spire," the henchmen finally parted at the doorway, allowing a few people who were clearly not henchmen to come out.
Upon seeing those people, Erza's expression immediately changed; clearly, these were her former companions.
"Shu, Miliana, Simon, Woolley, you guys..."
Looking at the four people, Erza couldn't help but speak first. Her expression was complicated. In fact, everyone had changed quite a bit, but she was prejudiced and knew that these officers were her former comrades, so she immediately recognized them.
"elder sister?!"
One of the four people opposite spoke up. Upon seeing Erza, the blond-haired, dark-skinned, well-dressed, and handsome boy was clearly shocked.
"elder sister?!"
The way the boy addressed Erza completely stunned everyone in Fairy Tail, and they all looked at Erza in surprise.
Not your sister?! You didn't say your brother was in there either!
"."
Moen was also puzzled. The main reason was that this dark-skinned boy and Erza didn't look like siblings at all. Erza's skin was still fair and smooth. How could she and that dark-skinned boy be siblings?
Well, we can't rule out the possibility that they are half-siblings.
"We are not related by blood."
Erza explained that she and Xiu had been locked up together, and she took good care of the child, so Xiu always called her "older sister."
Everyone was relieved, because if the other person was Erza's younger brother, the situation would be quite different.
"Erza! How dare you come back!"
Upon seeing Erza, the expressions of the four people opposite her immediately turned ugly. Even the boy who had just called Erza "sister" changed his face. Their eyes were filled with hatred as they looked at Erza—hatred for a traitor.
"You traitor!"
Xiu shouted angrily; he was the most agitated of the four.
These four people, three men and one woman, include a tall guy, a blocky figure, and a catgirl, in addition to the dark-skinned Xiu.
The tallest one looked the calmest. He had a white headscarf wrapped around his head, an eye patch over his left eye, and an iron chin on the lower half of his face, suggesting he had been injured.
The blocky figure is dressed in a purple suit and wearing a top hat. His face is square, and he looks like he was assembled from building blocks.
The catgirl has cat ears and a cat tail, and her entire demeanor and physique are very cat-like, making her look like a cat that has come to life.
"Traitor? Why do you say that?"
Erza was bewildered by the accusations made by Xiu and the other three.
Erza couldn't understand why they would say that. Why had her former comrades become like this?
"You're still pretending to be stupid!"
"Catgirl" Miriam shrieked like a kitten hiss, seemingly angry at Erza for pretending to be innocent.
However, after her anger subsided, her gaze immediately fell on Happy, her eyes sparkling, and she muttered "Kitty~ Hehe~ Kitty~", clearly indicating that this "catgirl" was still a cat lover.
Not only was Miliana a little annoyed by Erza's words, but the other three boys were also angry at Erza's words. Clearly, they had a deep misunderstanding of Erza.
"Is there some misunderstanding between you two?"
Seeing that a fight was about to break out, Moen immediately spoke up, saying that it was obvious because the three of them and Erza had completely different understandings of the situation.
On this point, Moen blindly believed Erza. These people saying that Erza was a traitor and a betrayer must be a misunderstanding on their part; it could never be Erza's fault.
This isn't about favoritism or siding with family over principle. Even from a purely rational standpoint, those who are aiding and abetting the evildoers in building the "Tower of Paradise" are "villains," and it's impossible to morally judge Erza.
"A misunderstanding?! How could there be a misunderstanding! Gerald said it himself!"
Xiu was very emotional and explained the reason for the misunderstanding.
Good heavens! Upon hearing this answer, Moen exclaimed, "Good heavens!" Now he understood why these people were willing to risk their lives for Gerald.
After the statement "This is what Gerald said himself" was made, Moen immediately understood the cause, process, and outcome of the matter.
These people were unaware of Jellal's transformation. In their hearts, Jellal was still their leader and elder brother who led them in their rebellion against slavery, and Erza, who had left alone, was naturally seen as a traitor! Jellal blamed everything on Erza!
