Chapter 63 The Right Way to Leave
Chapter 63 The Right Way to Leave
"Why are you so afraid of me?" Sun Rui asked.
"I've seen people like you who were possessed by evil spirits before," Liu Feng said.
"How long ago was that?" Sun Rui asked.
"It was about ten days ago," Liu Feng said honestly.
"It's interesting that you can still remain rational. The restaurant owner wanted to kill me so badly, why did you remain unmoved?" Sun Rui asked.
"I was only there for a short time, a few days before the previous person, so I was able to control my rationality." Liu Feng looked at Sun Rui cautiously, maintaining a relatively safe distance.
"So your murderous desires increase over time?" Sun Rui asked after a moment's thought.
"Yes! I've seen people go mad, run away from their territory, and then disappear from the world completely."
Sun Rui nodded, half believing the statement, because he was on the fourth floor and could clearly see signs of other rooms being occupied, but he didn't see any residents.
"One last question, is Marcus the real owner of this apartment?" Sun Rui pointed downwards to the ground.
"I don't know... His existence is more special than ours..." Liu Feng hesitated for a moment before continuing, "I remember he was the owner of room 404, but he could move around freely outside, although that area was restricted to the apartment."
"I see..." Sun Rui thought about it carefully, and Marcus's situation did indeed match Liu Feng's words.
"One last question, how do I get back to the real world?"
Sun Rui suspected that someone was likely manipulating the ghost paintings here, and with the passage deliberately concealed, the chances of him finding it were slim.
His supernatural powers are suppressed during the day, and he can't go out at night, so he can only search through ordinary means, which is too risky.
"You're talking about a door, right? I overheard Arya's conversation before. She said that as long as you kill someone, you can find that door... and that the door must exist in this world. I don't know the meaning of that statement, and I hope it doesn't mislead you," Liu Feng said.
"I understand now, the door must exist in this world..." Sun Rui stroked his chin, as if he had grasped something from those words.
Just as he was about to head to the next room.
Liu Feng suddenly said, "Be careful of Arya, she might not be dead."
How did you know I killed her?
"She would come back through the door every morning, but she didn't show up this morning, so I suspect you killed her... But this isn't the first time this has happened. Someone like you was tricked like this before," Liu Feng said.
Sun Rui nodded: "Why are you willing to tell me so much information?"
"I want to live, you want to get out; it's a fair trade."
"Yes, you're right, but if I find out you've lied to me even once, you'll be in big trouble."
Since it's a transaction, Sun Rui will abide by the rules of the transaction, but he feels that Liu Feng's purpose is not that simple.
Sun Rui searched room by room, asking many people, but most of them wanted to kill him, so he didn't get any more information. The only thing he could confirm was the door; Liu Feng's words were indeed correct.
Sun Rui had no choice but to throw those who wanted to kill him out of the apartment.
Liu Feng witnessed this scene and thought it was utterly monstrous. Although he knew that his people were not normal, he couldn't accept the idea of killing them; such behavior was simply too cold-blooded.
In contrast, Sun Rui seemed completely indifferent.
"Keeping these people around is just causing trouble; the sooner they're killed, the better."
He watched as the people before him slowly turned into blobs of red paint, then merged into the ground and disappeared completely. When he woke up the next morning, several more rooms on the first floor of the apartment building would be gone.
"I think I understand..." Sun Rui said to himself.
The deaths of those people suddenly reminded him of Liu Feng's words: "The door must be in this world!"
"Since the world is so big, why don't I shrink it down? If the world only consists of apartments, then the location of the door will be greatly reduced, right?" Sun Rui thought to himself.
The more he thought about it, the more feasible the method seemed, but then he suddenly frowned.
"Although there are few people here, considering the area, there are probably countless people... Even if everyone is found, it would take far too long if the other party is hiding. But Ron did go out earlier. Logically speaking, how could a ghost tamer of a single vengeful spirit last so long?"
"There must be other ways. Let's try some first. Maybe we don't need to kill so many people. Let's start with Silver Lake Avenue." Sun Rui thought to himself as he walked out.
He wanted to kill some more supernatural replicas and see what changes would occur in the world tomorrow.
He first went to the office workers' group, as Sun Rui had disliked him for a long time.
Then there was the original barbershop owner...
And so Sun Rui went out and killed people one by one, even before the paint on the ground had dried, the next person would be thrown out.
Some people considered resisting, but to no avail; they were powerless against Sun Rui.
When only a few homeless people remained, Sun Rui stopped. He had killed too many; if something happened to the apartment building, it would be disastrous, especially since it was so close by.
He has less than four days left before the target time for delivering the message, so he can wait a while longer and slowly study this world.
After doing all this, Sun Rui didn't rest; he began investigating everything around him.
If we can find that door directly, that would be the best.
Once paranormal events are involved, things become much more complicated. Sun Rui searched the apartment inside and out but couldn't find the door.
At the same time, Arya and Marcus also disappeared.
Currently, only Sun Rui and Liu Feng remain in the entire gray brick apartment.
There were a few homeless people left on the street corner, but no one else was there.
The task of finding a way out was tedious and lengthy, and Sun Rui made little progress after a whole day of work.
He could only refocus his attention on the method he had previously deduced.
According to the information he obtained and Liu Feng's words, as long as enough supernatural clones are killed, the world in the painting can be shrunk to a small enough size, and the area where the door exists will naturally become smaller.
Sun Rui did not go straight back to room 404, but instead tried to keep an eye on Marcus and Arya at the front desk on the first floor.
But several hours passed without any results.
He didn't return to room 404 until it suddenly got dark.
The next moment, paint rained down from the sky outside like a storm.
It looked as if a painter was making a major alteration to his painting.
Sun Rui stood in front of the window, looking at the dark night view outside.
The sky was completely dark, and even the supernatural light from the burning ghosts within could only illuminate a small part of it. Since the ground was not visible, it was impossible to discern what changes had occurred outside.
However, he soon felt the apartment tremble slightly.
