Chapter 241 Angustron
Chapter 241 Angustron
Just as Thomas was facing Joey, unsure of what to say, the drone behind Joey suddenly burst into a dazzling flash of electricity.
"Warning, system overload."
This is exactly the trouble Joey was referring to.
The purpose of this small machine is twofold: first, to locate coordinates so that the wearer will not get lost in the infinite multiverse and lose their way back; second, to anchor time. This technology comes from the cross-dimensional spider legion and is used to adjust the entanglement of spacetime flow to achieve time synchronization, so that travelers will not suffer the same fate as those on Rotten Axe Mountain when they return.
To buy time, there is a time warping effect deliberately created by Cyborg Tony and others between the Flashpoint universe and the universe where Tony is located, and the time flow rates are not synchronized.
However, this second function now clearly contradicts it.
The drone's malfunction was likely due to this reason.
The flow of time has been disrupted once again.
If the flow rate between the two universes remains slower in Flashpoint's universe and faster in Iron Man's universe, then there's no problem. But if time starts to synchronize, Joey couldn't help but feel a chill run down his spine.
Time is not his only enemy.
Just as he was about to look up and take a look at the real enemy, the green portal beside him opened once again.
"Depend on!"
Joey grabbed the invincible young hero who was about to exchange a few words with the old bat and rushed into the portal as if fleeing.
Before leaving, he didn't forget to instruct old Thomas to pass on a message to Cyborg:
"Let Cyborg check if the time warp between the two universes is still in effect!"
Returning to the Flashpoint universe was completely unexpected for Joey. Had he known that there would be such a stop along the way in this dimensional journey, he would never have taken such a risk.
But it's no use saying all this now. His only hope is that the time difference between the two universes won't be torn apart by some chain reaction caused by his arrival.
As an "anomaly" that could potentially tear apart the flow of time, Joey himself had no choice but to leave this universe as soon as possible. The longer he stayed in the Flashpoint universe, the more likely an accident would occur.
Even a brief appearance in the Flashpoint universe, lasting only a dozen seconds, posed an enormous risk to his and the Justice League's self-rescue plan.
Even if the flow of time wasn't disrupted, it would still be unequal. Iron Man and Batman would still have hundreds of times more time to prepare. The perilous consequences of this risk would still be far beyond what Joey could bear. An entire Kryptonian fleet was hovering on the outer edge of the solar system, watching intently. If even one of them noticed Joey's accidental flash in Gotham City, it would cause a major problem!
"Once I meet this Angustram you mentioned, I guarantee it," Joey's expression turned cold the moment he stepped through the portal, all traces of his earlier composure gone.
"He's 100% going to die a horrible death."
This brief, unexpected return completely enraged Joey, and it made his somewhat relaxed nerves tense up again.
Regardless of who Angustran is who opened the portal, or what grudge he has against the Invincible Young Hero, it can't be greater than his grudge against Joey.
Mark also noticed Joey's fluctuating expression, but since it happened during the brief moment of passing through the portal, he wisely refrained from asking any further questions.
Anyway, they'll have plenty of time to chat in the next universe, won't they?
The next second, the invincible young hero realized that things might not go as he expected, because he went home.
Back in his living room, Mark's eyes darted around and instantly locked onto Angell, who was hiding next to his mother.
As always, this despicable madman uses Mark's mother's life as leverage every time Mark returns from another universe.
This would make Mark hesitant to act rashly.
"There's no option to call for reinforcements in the game's rules, Mark."
Angustran Reeves frowned as he watched the second figure in a bright red cloak appear in the room, also flying with both feet off the ground like Mark.
"The letters on your chest and the red cape... have you found some Omnipotent hero from a parallel universe?"
In Levi's plan, the invincible young hero was supposed to be forced to travel between different dimensions, constantly eroding his power until he was too weak to be killed by Levi himself.
Another alien, but that wasn't part of his revenge plan.
Although he didn't know from which dangerous dimension Mark had found a dimensional being willing to help him, since the other party had already come, Angustran had no intention of giving up his revenge plan.
Why not let the two of them put on a grand show for me? Angstrom reached out and activated his ability. A portal aura appeared around Mark's mother's feet, and the baby she was holding sensed the danger and cried loudly.
"Mark, you broke our rules first."
With two aliens present, a new idea immediately popped into Angustron's mind:
"I can open a portal to a wasteland universe at any time. Either you kill this unwanted outside helper, or I'll send this mother and child to that universe right now. I guarantee they'll die within minutes of being exposed to radiation."
Mark's body tensed, poised to charge forward and fight Angus to the death at any moment. Seeing this, the latter couldn't help but threaten again:
"Don't be foolish. With just one thought, you can forget about ever seeing your mother again!"
Listening silently to Angustran's hysterical roar, Joey didn't even bother to waste words with him.
The head was twisted and enormous, and although the overall head-to-body ratio was not as extreme as that of "Modork", it was still exaggerated enough.
Joey has already said that he no longer cares what grudge this big-headed monster has against the invincible young hero; he just wants him to die as soon as possible.
As for his claim that a single thought could send hostages to another dimension to die, Joey certainly believed it, but one question remained: "Just how fast can your thought be?"
In the blink of an eye, Angustron found Joey standing right in front of him, ten meters away. He only had time to exclaim, "You!"
He then swiftly activated his ability, preparing to send Mark's mother and brother to a dangerous universe, just as he had previously threatened.
Only then did he notice the anomaly: where were the mother and son in the living room?
"A piece of advice."
Joey placed his hand on Angstrom's massive head, and with just a little force, the reinforced forehead shattered into pieces like a watermelon, gushing out a huge amount of blood.
Protected by the biofield, Joey remained untouched by blood, but he still disgustedly shook his hand, watching the mindless Angustron convulsing and kneeling on the ground:
"When you can't think fast enough, don't try to fight a Kryptonian whose thoughts are a hundred times faster than yours."
