Chapter 213 Extra: Amusement Park
Chapter 213 Extra: Amusement Park
"Sifer, let's go to the amusement park tomorrow!"
"What?"
Severus's attention was entirely focused on the potion cabinet, and Emeric's words left no impression on him. He turned around and asked Emeric to repeat himself.
"I said, let's go to the amusement park tomorrow. The Muggle world has built a lot of amusement parks, perfect for couples to go on dates," Emeric said in a sticky, mushy voice as he walked behind him, rested his head on his shoulder.
"Why do you suddenly want to go out?" Severus didn't immediately agree; he had no idea what this little rascal was up to. Last time he suddenly said he wanted to go out, he was kept on the bed for three days straight; the time before that, Emery dragged him on a shopping spree in Milan. In short, he was never well-behaved; something always happened.
Emeric continued, whispering in his ear, "Because we haven't been on a date in a long time, and don't you think it's boring to stay home during the holidays?" Christmas was just around the corner, and he was thinking of taking the man out for a good time before deciding which house to spend the New Year at.
Sometimes they would go to Spider's End to maintain the house, where Severus spent his childhood, and Emeric didn't want it to be destroyed. Sometimes they would go back to Princes House when Severus needed to do research. Most of the time, they would stay at Iris House, the home that belonged only to the two of them.
"No, I don't find it boring." Severus coldly rejected him, preferring to conduct experiments at home rather than face uncertainty.
Seeing that the man showed no sign of wavering, Emeric's mood instantly collapsed. He sat on the sofa behind him, sighing, and looked at Severus with teary eyes, like a pitiful puppy silently whining.
"Tsk." Severus couldn't stand this look the most. Every time Emeric didn't get his way, he would act pitiful, and Emeric always fell for it and would soften and agree.
Of course, this time was no exception. Severus surrendered in less than ten minutes. "Put it away, I'll go, okay?" he said, pinching Emeric's face as revenge. Sometimes he really wondered if he was crazy to like this pretentious little rascal.
Early in the morning, Emeric got up to prepare takeout lunch, worried that the food at the amusement park wouldn't be good. On the table in the distance were two large plates with shrimp and scrambled eggs, a small ball of pasta, sweet corn kernels, blueberries, and half a piece of herb-fed chicken breast. This was about 80% enough for Severus, plus a glass of milk for each of them, which was just right.
While Emeric was busy, Severus came downstairs. He was wearing a brown sweater under a black cashmere coat, while Emeric was wearing a light brown sweater under a brown coat.
The two people's color schemes match perfectly, and anyone with normal eyesight can easily tell that they are a couple.
After breakfast, Emeric led Severus into the fireplace. He had already done his research and knew which node of the Floo Network was closest to the amusement park.
After entering the world of Muggles, Severus's eyes would always unconsciously look around, and no matter how many times he came, he would still be amazed by the creativity of the Muggles.
"Let's go in," Emeric said, holding two light yellow tickets. He had paid a little extra to ensure he could play as much as he wanted that day.
Roller coasters, Ferris wheels, pirate ships... they found these uninteresting. Compared to riding broomsticks, these were child's play. So, they decided to walk around and explore, only playing on rides that interested them.
The sleeves of his coat were large enough to cover their clasped hands, so Severus didn't immediately shake off Emeric.
After walking for a short while, they entered a theater where a performance was about to begin. They were immediately led to the best seats; the extra money was definitely worth it, Emeric thought to himself.
He himself disliked this kind of stage play; clearly, the man next to him was more attractive. At first, he restrained himself, putting on a show and not openly staring at Severus.
Halfway through the performance, Emeric stopped pretending and turned his head directly to his lover beside him, his eyes seemingly glued to him.
The man ignored him; who knew what Emeric might do if he paid him any attention? The stage play in front of him was much more interesting. His hand, however, unconsciously wandered to the knee of the person next to him and patted it a few times in a comforting manner.
Emeric silently considered which theaters had performances recently, planning to take Severus to see them, as he felt that staying at home all the time during the holidays would make him grow mushrooms.
The performance ended quickly, and the two continued their stroll hand in hand, their guide following beside them. Not far away, two Hufflepuffs, out playing, stealthily followed behind them, squealing excitedly in silence.
"I'm totally shipping them! I knew those two professors were a couple!"
"Professor Snape has a gentle side? Why isn't he like that in class? Otherwise, I wouldn't have been scared to tears so many times." The little badger wearing the hat felt sad. She was always terrified when she attended Severus's class.
"Really, isn't it because you've fried the pot too many times? Last time you stirred it too hard, and it splattered all over half the classroom; the time before that, you didn't cut the herbs to the required size, and the splattered liquid corroded half of the table; and now—ugh!!"
"Okay, stop talking, it's impolite to say any more." She quickly covered her friend's mouth; if there was a wizard here, she'd lose all face. "I'll treat you to ice cream, can you not expose me?"
“Wuwu!”
The little badgers lost interest in playing and quietly followed the two professors. After they got on the Ferris wheel, they found the best viewing spot to see if Severus's lips were swollen after they came down.
What can a couple do on a Ferris wheel? It's really hard to guess. They looked at each other and smiled as they ate their fries.
At that moment, in the sky cabin, Emeric was slowly telling the legend of the Ferris wheel, bringing his face close to Severus's to shorten the distance between the two.
"Going through all this trouble just for this legend?" Severus felt old; sometimes he really couldn't understand Emeric's thought process. "You and I have a soul contract; do you still need this kind of vague legend?"
"Isn't this romantic?" Hearing the man mention the contract, Emeric awkwardly touched his nose. He still had something to hide, and he felt guilty about bringing it up suddenly. "Severus, we're almost at the highest point, let's kiss."
Seeing Emeric's expression, Severus immediately guessed that he was hiding something from him. Not wanting to spoil the atmosphere at this moment, he could only keep it to himself and settle the score later that night.
After they finished their rounds, Emeric had a faint pinch mark on his face, and Severus's lips were swollen and red. It was hard to guess what the two of them had been doing up there.
They spent the whole afternoon shopping and browsing, a routine they always follow when they go out, and then mail the items back home.
"There's a fireworks show tonight, shall we watch it before going home?"
"Are there any seats left if we go over there now?" Severus didn't refuse, but he was worried about not finding a good spot to watch. Since they were out having fun, they wanted to enjoy themselves to the fullest.
"Don't worry about that, we have our own private area." Emeric smiled, once again feeling that the extra money was worth it; he didn't want anyone disturbing their time alone.
Vibrant colors filled the night sky, dimming the once-twinkling stars. In the firelight, a warm glow touched the lover's face.
Severus looked at Emeric and once again thought how handsome that face was; he could see it every day and never get tired of it. He decided to let the little rascal go for now and deal with him later.
