Chapter 9 Auditorium Turmoil
Chapter 9 Auditorium Turmoil
The next morning, Lyra woke up feeling sore all over, as if she had been fighting a troll all night. It seemed the Whomping Willow was just as deadly as the troll, or even more so, because Lyra found large bruises on her arms and calves.
Damn it! Leila, being petty, decided to take two red-haired thugs with her after school today to confront this bully Liu.
After struggling to get out of bed, Leila decided to dress up and change her mood. New school term, new look! A new day starts with looking beautiful!
Lyra first curled her usually loose, straight black hair into large waves with an automatic curling iron, then braided all her hair into a loose long braid, leaving only a few strands on each side of her ears. Finally, she sprayed some hairspray to set the style, making it look natural and neat. She then adorned the braid with small white pearl hair clips, creating a very delicate and elegant look.
All her accessories were pearl jewelry; apart from the hair clip, her earrings and bracelet were also platinum with white pearls, giving her a distinctly exotic look. This outfit was inspired by Leila's vacation on the French coast.
She then opted for a light makeup look. Leila's skin is already fair and delicate, with almost no visible pores, so she only applied a simple base and light eye makeup. The focus of her makeup today was on her lips. Therefore, Leila specially unpacked a new lipstick she brought back from France; it was a classic cherry red, which made her lips look luscious and made her skin appear even fairer.
To match her pearl jewelry, Leila also got a creamy, translucent French manicure, which was pure and delicate yet understated, perfect for the first day of school.
Finally, I sprayed on a little citrus-scented eau de toilette, and I was immediately enveloped in a good mood.
The refreshing scent caught the attention of my roommate, who was busy washing up.
"Wow~ Laila, you have to tell me where you bought this lipstick!" Angelina, who was busy combing her hair, immediately dropped the comb and hugged Laila's arm when she saw Laila's makeup.
"Your nails are gorgeous! Oh my god, this magic nail art set is amazing! Tell me the shop name!" Even Aria, who is usually too lazy to do makeup, was attracted by Lyra's new French manicure.
Seeing the two girls' eyes light up as they stared at her lipstick and nail polish, Leila immediately ran to her suitcase, pulled out two beauty gift sets, and presented one to each of them—she had long anticipated that no girl could resist the latest magical beauty products from France!
"These are gifts I brought back from my summer vacation in France specifically for you all~ The magic lipstick inside can change color according to your mood, and the perfumes are all niche scents so you won't smell like everyone else." Leila smiled as she looked at the girls who were already jumping for joy. "The most popular item in this beauty gift set is this magic nail art set, which comes with 32 nail designs and 68 color combinations, all of which are the latest designs from France~"
"Laila, I love you!!" Laila received two warm hugs and countless flying kisses.

George and Fred got up a little late. After quickly changing their clothes, they rushed downstairs, expecting to see Lyra waiting for them on a chair in the common room with her textbooks. However, the chair Lyra usually sat in was empty—clearly, the dark-haired girl hadn't arrived yet.
"Looks like the three of us are going to get a scolding in Professor McGonagall's class today," George said, but he slumped onto the sofa without showing any sign of anxiety.
“Being late on the first day of school, Professor McGonagall must be furious,” Fred chimed in, but he too leaned back on the sofa armrest, showing no sign of panic.
Just as the two were lazily waiting for Leila to come out of the dormitory, they suddenly heard a lot of people exclaiming in surprise. The two turned around and saw three bright and beautiful girls walking down the stairs together, but the most eye-catching one was a girl with black hair and gray eyes - from her hair to her fingertips, she was perfect, like a pearl in the sunlight, shining brightly in the crowd.
"Merlin..." Everyone who saw Lyra on the way from the common room to the auditorium sighed inwardly.
For once, Fred and George didn't mess with Lyra's hair, keeping their hands neatly at their sides—or perhaps Lyra had warned them as soon as they met that if they dared to mess up her hour-long hairstyle, she would shave off all their red hair and turn them into Polyjuice Potion to sell in Knockturn Alley.
This threat was too harsh. Lyra managed to control the twins' mischievous hands, but she couldn't control their mouths, which seemed to thrive on chaos: "Won't you run into your Slytherin ex-boyfriend in the Great Hall later?"
"Do you need us to cover you with our bodies? Anyway, hiding the little dwarf is easy for us~"
Lyra rolled her eyes at the two of them. Since the summer vacation, the two had grown a full twenty centimeters, and Lyra, who only reached the twins' shoulders, had become a shorty in their eyes. Lyra decided that from today onwards, she would replace all her pumpkin juice with milk, and she refused to believe that she wouldn't grow taller.
The three had barely stepped into the auditorium when a tremendous explosion erupted throughout the entire space, causing even the ceiling to tremble.
"...Stealed a car...Received a letter, your father is dying of guilt..." Lyra and the twins recognized Mrs. Weasley's voice, only a hundred times louder than usual. "You, Harry, and Lyra almost lost your lives..." The roar shook the tables of all four houses, the cutlery clattering and rattling. Everyone in the Great Hall looked around to see who had received the roaring letter.
Immediately, people noticed the three people standing at the entrance of the Great Hall, and countless eyes were focused on the girl with black hair and gray eyes, including those sitting at the Slytherin table.
Draco Malfoy had initially jumped up, intending to run to the Gryffindor table to mock Weasley, but when he inadvertently turned his head and saw Lyra, he instantly forgot his original purpose and froze on the spot, only able to hear his own heart pounding like thunder, the sound so loud it seemed to echo throughout the entire Hogwarts.
“Hmph, some Muggle kids just know how to pose and act all affected... Real, cultured wizarding families wouldn’t even look at her, right Draco?” Pansy’s voice seemed to come from afar.
"Draco? Draco!" Pansy raised her voice, clearly losing her composure for a lady who prided herself on being well-mannered.
Pansy's sharp voice jolted Draco Malfoy awake. He casually straightened an imaginary wrinkle in his robes, pretending to tidy his appearance to cover up his recent blunder. After sitting back down, he cleared his throat dismissively, trying to speak to Blaise Zabini beside him to avoid Pansy's suspicious gaze.
But at this moment, Breszabini's gaze was fixed intently on Leila, completely oblivious to the sounds around him; only one thought occupied his mind—
She is the only rose.
