Chapter 130 Fighting in the Screaming Shack

Chapter 130 Fighting in the Screaming Shack

Everyone present confirmed that Buckbeak, the hippogriff, had broken his chains and escaped on his own. The matter should have ended there; the Ministry of Magic personnel could have gone back to where they came from, and Hagrid could have happily returned to his hut to drink a glass of brandy and celebrate the clever Buckbeak's escape.

But Lucius Malfoy, who failed to achieve his goal, disagreed.

He insisted that the matter was highly suspicious, and despite the fact that the chains were shown to have been bitten off by the hippogriff itself, he waved his wand and cast a series of spells to test whether the chains had been broken by magic.

After repeated unsuccessful inspections, he still suggested searching the site and the forbidden forest, but Minister Fudge was clearly uninterested; and the elderly committee member, who just wanted to go home early, was unwilling to cooperate with Mr. Malfoy, who was making trouble for no reason.

“Lucius, if Buckbeak really has escaped, I don’t think it will stay near Hogwarts any longer,” Dumbledore sincerely suggested. “Search the sky, birds always love to fly… Hagrid, may I have a cup of tea? Or a glass of brandy would also be fine.”

"Of course!" Hagrid's voice sounded weak but happy after his initial elation. "Welcome, brandy, a whole glass of brandy!"

Lyra bid farewell to Headmaster Dumbledore and Professor Hagrid with satisfaction.

She walked slowly toward the castle, her ears perked up, listening intently to the two men in the hut raising their glasses in a toast to "Clever Beeke," and to the gruff sullen Lucius Malfoy and the Ministry of Magic's men as they strode away, their curses and complaints fading into the distance.

Finally, everyone left, and no one paid any more attention to an insignificant fifth-grade student.

Lyra pulled out her wand from her cloak, recast the Disillusionment Charm and the Silent Charm on herself, turned around, and headed into the depths of the Forbidden Forest.

It's all Lucius Malfoy's fault for wasting time by stirring up trouble!

I wonder if Fred and George, with Buckbeak, are getting impatient waiting deep in the Forbidden Forest?

Leila walked quickly while worrying.

Harry and Hermione crawled into the mysterious opening beneath the Whomping Willow.

The two glided through the tunnel, while Crookshan, leading the way, kept a close eye on them, stopping occasionally to let them catch up. Clearly, it was leading the way for its master.

Hermione and Harry followed the cat with trepidation, feeling as they walked deeper and deeper, their backs bent so low they could barely stand. They felt they were getting further and further away from Hogwarts Castle, and they were also afraid that the black dog, as big as a bear, might eat Ron.

As the winding tunnel began to rise, a hazy light entered their eyes.

Harry and Hermione gripped their wands tightly as they approached, only to find that Crookshanks had led them into a house.

This was a dusty and dilapidated house: the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the floors were stained everywhere, and the furniture was broken. It looked as if the people who had lived there had gone mad and destroyed everything in the house.

"This is the Shrieking Shack!" Hermione and Harry realized at the same time.

Just then, a creaking sound came from above their heads, as if something was moving.

Harry and Hermione exchanged a glance, their expressions grave. They carefully climbed the ladder leading upstairs, trying to remain as quiet as possible so as not to disturb anything up there.

At the end of the stairs was a door, but the door was open.

Low moans and the satisfied meows of a cat could be heard coming from inside.

It's Ron, and Crook Hill.

Harry and Hermione's hearts sank. After exchanging glances again, they stealthily crept inside. As soon as they entered, they saw a large four-poster bed. Crookshanks was lying on the bed, barking happily. Not far from Crookshanks, on the floor, Ron was clutching his broken leg and groaning.

"Ron!"

Harry and Hermione rushed to Ron.

"Are you ok?"

"Where's the big dog?"

The two of them eagerly inquired.

“No,” Ron said, his face pale and covered in cold sweat from the pain, “that wasn’t a dog!”

"what?"

“It’s him! He’s an Animagus—” Ron gasped in pain, his voice escaping through clenched teeth.

"Snapped!"

Suddenly! The door slammed shut!

Someone's there!

Harry and Hermione turned around in horror to see a very thin man with long hair grinning at them.

It's the fugitive Sirius Black!

"Except your weapons!"

In a single glance, Harry and Hermione's wands slipped from their grasp and flew high into the air, while the slender Black caught them with incredible agility.

“That’s good. You chose to help your friend instead of going to the professor…” Blake’s voice was hoarse, but everyone could hear the relief in his voice.

“Harry, you’re so brave to help your friend. Your dad did the same thing to me. It’s so nice that there’s no one else around, just the few of us…it makes things so much easier…”

Harry's chest heaved with hatred upon hearing Black's words. This man had betrayed his parents, causing their tragic deaths and breaking their friendship, and now he dared to mock his father!

Harry lunged forward, intent on attacking his opponent, but Ron and Hermione held him back.

"If you're going to kill Harry, you'll have to kill us first!" Ron roared furiously.

But after hearing what Ron said, Blake seemed even happier.

“Oh, my good friend! Don’t worry,” Blake’s smile deepened, “only one person will die here tonight!”

This smile clearly enraged Harry, who forcefully broke free from Hermione and Ron's grasp and lunged madly at Black!

The two men started fighting on the dirty floor! At the crucial moment, Harry snatched the wand back from Black!

Just then, someone fired a spell from the doorway, separating the two.

“Professor Lupin!” Ron and Hermione exclaimed in surprise.

Professor Lupin's gaze swept over the people in the room, and he raised his wand, casting a spell.

"Except your weapons!"

Harry's wand flew out of his hand again, and this time it landed in Lupin's hand.
