Chapter 190 Harmonious Relationship
Chapter 190 Harmonious Relationship
Harry and Ron huddled furtively behind the bushes near the castle gate. Hermione, though crouching alongside them, pouted, clearly unhappy about being hidden away and spying on others.
However, Harry was holding onto Hermione's robe tightly, afraid she would rush up and greet Lyra and the others. Ron, disregarding their earlier misunderstanding, was desperately trying to signal to Hermione not to jump out of the bushes.
The reason Harry and Ron insisted on dragging Hermione behind the bushes was because on their way to find Hagrid at the cabin on the edge of the Forbidden Forest and return to the castle, they encountered Fred and George nearby, as well as Lyra and Cedric, who had recently been pursuing her intensely.
— Apparently, they just happened to stumble upon the scene where Lyra was forcing the Weasley twins to apologize to Cedric Diggory.
If Hermione had gone up to greet Lyra, would she have been so eager to watch this spectacle? Harry and Ron didn't even need to think; they instinctively used their Quidditch skills to drag the reluctant Hermione away and hide her.
“Cedric, thank you for coming,” Lyra smiled gently. “Fred and George have something to say to you.”
Then, when Lyra turned to look at the red-haired twins, the smile on her face vanished instantly, and she gave them a fierce look, signaling them to come forward and apologize.
When Ron caught a glimpse of Lyra glaring at Fred and George with a stern face, he instinctively shuddered. For some reason, he suddenly felt that Lyra's stern expression was exactly the same as his mother's when she was angry.
Fred and George didn't resist much; they obediently stepped forward, their attitude quite sincere.
"We're sorry, we didn't mean to. We just randomly threw out a prank product; we didn't expect you to fall for it—"
"We apologize, but to express our remorse, please accept our apology gift—"
Cedric almost believed the Weasley brothers' words, if he hadn't seen the fleeting mockery in their eyes.
But Lyra, standing to the side, clearly didn't see this; she was quite satisfied with the two redheads' honest apology.
Cedric glanced at Lyra before taking the package Fred handed him, nodding and smiling politely at the two of them.
Lyra clearly misunderstood, and she quickly explained, "These are canary cookies they made. Eating them will temporarily transform you into a canary. There are no other adverse effects. It's a fun little prank dessert."
“I’ve heard,” Cedric smiled gently. “These are very popular in Hufflepuff too. Thank you for the cookies.”
For the first time, Harry, hiding behind the bushes, began to appreciate the Diggory's legendary good manners. After being successfully pranked by the Weasleys with their prank products, he could still smile and accept other products from them—if it were Harry himself, he wouldn't trust anything Fred or George offered, not even a harmless potato chip.
Harry has never forgotten the experience of former Quidditch captain Wood's tongue stretching to over three feet long after receiving a toffee from the Weasley twins.
But Cedric had already told Lyra that he didn't mind the "accident." Lyra knew in her heart that her two red-haired twins were definitely not surprised by Cedric's prank, but she could only pretend not to know, after all, it was already very rare for the twins to be willing to apologize.
She hoped that Cedric Diggory could get along well with her two best friends at school, at least not like Harry and Draco, who were bitter enemies.
After all, Cedric could very well become her new boyfriend.
