Because Hagrid's story sounded so convincing... The art of lying has become incredibly sophisticated these days.
This statement dispelled Harry and the others' doubts; even Hermione thought Darren had guessed wrong.
Darren, of course, could not stand by his own words.
So he smiled and changed the subject, asking, "Anyway, Hagrid, your injury can't be delayed. You must drink the potion and not let yourself get hurt again."
If you keep getting injured, then Headmaster Dumbledore probably won't offer you a professorship; after all, no professor is going to have a face full of scars every day!

[Ding, Fatherhood Value +100]
[Ding...] Hagrid didn't care about those things.
"We must trust Dumbledore!"
Next, they told them about Hagrid's situation with the giants.
On their first day, Hagrid and his companions persuaded the giant leader there. But that very night, the giant leader was killed.
The next night.
They then went to find the new leader of the giants.
That guy wasn't interested in them and even wanted to kill them. Hagrid was only able to get out thanks to Mrs. Maxim.
However, because they attacked the giants, the new giant leader harbored even greater resentment towards them.
On the third day, they discovered that the Death Eaters had also arrived. The new leader of the giants was very interested in the Death Eaters.
Hagrid and his companions could only keep visiting the giants who were interested in them. But the Death Eaters were hunting them down.
Moreover, the new leader of the giants was also hunting them down. He even attacked the giants who wanted to obey Hagrid. In other words, this attempt to win over the giants had failed. Only Hagrid's brother remained, whom he brought back. Darren shook his head helplessly.
Then he suddenly stood up.
He said warily, "Umbridge is here. I can hear her footsteps."
Harry and the others quickly covered the four of them with the Invisibility Cloak, and Darren even used the Vanishing Charm to hide the teacups they were using.
Sure enough. After he finished doing all that, there was a knock on the door. It was Umbridge.
She appeared at Hagrid's door with a haughty smile.
She said in a smug voice, "You're Hagrid? Do you know who came here just now? I saw four pairs of footprints here. Tell me!"

Chapter 559 Denying it to the bitter end!!
Harry and the others then realized why Umbridge had come here at night. They saw Hagrid looking completely bewildered.
I was afraid he'd let something slip. Luckily, he did.
Hagrid also knew to deny it to the death.
He argued, "I don't know, I haven't seen any students come here."
"is it?"
Umbridge pushed Hagrid aside.
She started rummaging through Hagrid's house.
She even searched Hagrid's cauldron. It seemed she suspected Harry and the others were hiding inside. Perhaps she was finally losing heart and giving up.
Umbridge then turned to Hagrid and asked, "What did you do during the summer vacation? Why are you only coming back now?"
"I'm going to enjoy the scenery!"
Hagrid covered his face.
His face twitched with pain from speaking. Umbridge gave him a mocking look.
"Enjoying the scenery? Like this?"
She pointed to Hagrid's face.
"Oops, I fell..."
Hagrid told a half-hearted lie. Umbridge scoffed.
Then she launched into a long string of sarcastic remarks. Finally, before leaving, she told Hagrid what she had said.
She's a senior investigator and hopes Hagrid will prepare well for his course; she'll definitely check it out later.
Hagrid also extended a welcome.
After Umbridge left, Hermione worriedly told Hagrid what Umbridge had done.
She told Hagrid to prepare his lessons carefully. But Hagrid ignored her.
He said he was tired and told Hermione to go back quickly. Hermione stormed off.
Of course, she took Darren and the others with her. ...
Sunday morning.
Hermione traversed the thick snow and returned to the castle.
She went to see Hagrid very early in the morning, wanting to help him prepare his lessons.
But Hagrid told her again that it was a secret, and that he had prepared some very interesting little gadgets for them.
He also declined Hermione's offer to help him prepare lessons.
"He probably thought that Umbridge was at most like Malfoy, who was simply turned away by Headmaster Dumbledore!"
Hermione angrily told them.
Darren's face showed a worried expression.
He said anxiously, "I'm going to find him..."
"Don't go, he's already out!"
Hermione grabbed Darren.
She felt the coldness of Darren's hands.
"It's so cold and the snow is so heavy, you should stay inside the castle!"
Hermione said helplessly.
Darren sighed. He wrapped himself up tightly. He hated winter!
Even with magic, he still hates winter! But it's alright.
Today is Sunday, so he can stay in the lounge and enjoy the fire.
But the next day, when he had to cross the snow to attend his magical creatures conservation class, Darren began to wonder if he should continue to feign illness and then take a nap in the school infirmary.
However, he still gave up.
After all, it was Hagrid's first class back, so we had to give him some face.
So he shivered, trying to warm himself, and walked with Harry and the others, supporting each other, to the vicinity of Hagrid's hut.
There are already many people there.
They weren't very happy about Hagrid's return.
To be fair, Professor Graco's lectures are what truly constitute a course. At least his courses are safe.
Instead of like Hagrid, who always tries to find some thrilling animals for them to raise and then expects them to wholeheartedly agree with it.
"Great, everyone's here! Quick! Everyone, follow me!"
Hagrid carried a dead cow on his back from somewhere else.
It looked like Hagrid was going to show them something thrilling and exciting. Darren looked horrified when he saw his Slytherin classmates.
They were truly terrified of Hagrid.
Hagrid didn't find himself scary at all; he enthusiastically led them into the Forbidden Forest.
Darren saw that Malfoy's hands and feet were trembling.
After all, when Malfoy first went in here, he was almost killed by Buckbeak.
This made Harry laugh.
However, Hagrid's mystery only lasted a short while.
After he mysteriously put down the dead cow, a Thestral flew over, and Darren looked at the Thestral and sighed softly.
"Of course I knew you could see it!"
Hagrid said softly.
Darren gave Harry a wry smile.
He said with a slight sob in his voice, "I thought I could protect my brother and make sure he never saw this kind of creature again."
