Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 207: If I had been born in the era of Grindelwald...

Chapter 207: If I had been born in the era of Grindelwald...

"I'm not worried about whether Dolores can do the job. I'm more worried about whether Potter will deliberately cause trouble. You...hiccup...you also know that the boy has always loved to break the law."

Fudge frowned and spoke with some difficulty.

He was so drunk that he had trouble speaking clearly.

"In the past, we had to tolerate him because of his contributions to the wizarding world. But he has recently apparently volunteered to be a pawn in Dumbledore's bid to seize power..."

"Don't worry, Cornelius. I will never easily forgive such an ungrateful brat if he breaks the rules."

Umbridge seemed no more lucid than her boss.

"I have a special method for dealing with Potter if he violates the rules. I believe we will all be satisfied."

Draco was already furious when he heard the two people talking about Harry.

If Draco had not already learned the family etiquette by heart and was becoming increasingly familiar with Occlumency, he might have simply stood up and sent the guest away.

But then, Umbridge's whisper, intentional or unintentional, caught Draco's mind.

"Besides, if he gets fired, we won't have to worry about this, right?"

Lucius and Narcissa remained calm, but Draco could sense that his parents had become more cautious.

"Fire? That's right! We should have fired him a long time ago. Right, Dolores?"

Fudge said drunkenly.

"He has repeatedly violated the underage magic ban! If it happens again, we will have to expel him."

"Just let him use magic in front of the Muggles, right?"

Umbridge nodded repeatedly and asked tentatively.

"I don't know, Dolores. I don't want or need to know."

The two of them were discussing things leisurely, seemingly completely forgetting that the host and his family were sitting right next to them.

Narcissa glanced at Draco warily. She smiled back at her mother, but her eyes were serious.

About half an hour later, Lucius signaled Narcissa and Draco with his eyes.

The mother and daughter stood up and left the living room, leaving their father and two guests to continue discussing important matters in the living room.

Stepping out the door meant that Draco could finally concentrate on collecting his thoughts.

After hearing Umbridge's conversation with Fudge, several ideas flashed through her mind that could immediately warn Harry.

But a quick inspection revealed that almost every action could leave traces of magic, leading to Harry being implicated.

Even the letters that were the safest in the past cannot be delivered now because of the safety of the family.

Draco couldn't help but frown.

"Trust him. He has been through so much, he shouldn't lose his temper."

Narcissa spoke softly, knowing what her daughter was worried about.

Draco nodded silently, knowing that there really was no other way.

But at the same time, I smiled bitterly in my heart.

If he could keep his cool, he wouldn't be Harry.

But then again, wasn't it precisely because of his thoughtless impulse that he deeply attracted me?

-

The day after Fudge and Embley left, Lucius and Narcissa went out early in the morning.

Draco continued to practice spells, occasionally sitting in the back garden and basking in the sun.

It was not until the evening that Narcissa returned home.

After a simple dinner, Narcissa once again took Draco to the study, entered the Pensieve, and peeked into the Lion's third memory.

This time, it was in a room that Draco was very familiar with.

Draco's younger cousin, whom he had never met, was in the living room of Malfoy Manor with his mother.

He seemed older again than in the second memory.

Compared to Sirius's handsome smile that was full of confidence and often humor, the lion looked more gloomy and pale.

This also makes him exude a melancholy scholarly temperament.

"Are you really determined to do this?"

“My parents are very supportive.”

"What about yourself? I know you must have thought a lot, and I hope you came here because you are willing to tell me."

Narcissa held the lion's thin hand, somewhat worriedly.

The boy smiled with relief. At that moment, his gloomy face lit up.

"Thank you. Actually, I'm still not sure what to do."

The lion slowly stood up and walked to the French window. He looked at the grass and trees in the manor and slowly spoke.

"I don't think wizards have to hide their identities from Muggles, and I also think pure-blood families must be given more respect. Especially the former."

The lion put his hands behind his back, and Narcissa also stood in front of the window, listening attentively to her cousin sharing his thoughts.

She knew that this little cousin had always lived in the shadow of his brother and therefore lacked self-confidence extremely.

Interrupting him without permission may make him unwilling to continue speaking.

"It seems that the current Ministry of Magic has no intention of changing. Only the Dark Lord still cares about this matter. If we want to urge reform, perhaps we can only make the Dark Lord powerful enough to effectively put pressure on the Ministry of Magic."

The lion turned around, his eyes full of hesitation.

"Of course, I don't agree with the Dark Lord that we must drive away non-pure-blood wizards. There are not many wizards anymore, and there is really no need to oppress ourselves."

"Your brother-in-law...he said that the Dark Lord's most important goal might be to create a pure-blood wizarding world."

Narcissa spoke carefully after hearing the lion's thoughts.

It sounds like the Dark Lord's ideals don't entirely match my little cousin's ideas.

The lion gave a serious look, as if he wanted Narcissa to say more.

"Except for certain followers, such as Bellatskos and my brother-in-law, anyone with a bit of common sense knows that this is an almost impossible goal to achieve."

Narcissa said as she observed the lion's expression.

I was afraid that if I wasn't careful, he would think that I was deliberately extinguishing his passion.

"People like Lucius more or less just hope that this process can re-establish the order of respecting pure-bloods."

The lion laughed heartily.

"Thank you, sister. You are probably the only one in the family who cares so much about my feelings."

He returned to his armchair and sat down, continuing his conversation.

"Of course I know that the Dark Lord is not ideal. I also know that most of his followers just hope to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy power and status. However, I still hope to have a stage to express my own ideas."

The lion paused and then laughed.

"Sometimes I think if I could have been born a few years earlier, I would have lived in Grindelwald's time. Wizards wouldn't have to hide from Muggles, and wizard rule could bring benefits to Muggles. I totally agree."

Seeing the lion's playful self-deprecation, Narcissa couldn't help but tease him.

"If you wish to serve the Dark Lord, do not let him hear these words."

"Don't worry. We are the only two in the family who know Occlumency, and I haven't neglected practicing."

After a few laughs, the lion stood up and looked at Narcissa.

"Don't worry about me. If the Dark Lord goes too far, I will try to stop him."

Narcissa heard this and raised an eyebrow in disapproval.

"You know saying something like that will only make people more worried, right?"

“It seems to be true.”

The brother and sister smiled at each other, and the lion suddenly took a step back and looked at Narcissa with a smile.

"what happened?"

Narcissa asked in confusion, and the lion's mouth raised slightly.

"Nothing. I thought someone would call me cousin soon."

"But it looks like... Sister, you may need to control your diet."

Narcissa's eyes widened, but she didn't get angry at the lion's rare teasing.

This is the cousin who is always gloomy and only shows liveliness in front of himself.

She smiled as she walked the lion toward the door, and as he stepped down the steps, he suddenly stopped.

"I actually have never liked my name. When I look up at night, it seems that even the starry sky is urging me to be brave."

"Do you have a favorite name?"

Narcissa asked with a smile, but the lion had already waved his hand and walked towards the gate of the manor.

"I'll tell you when I have a chance."
