Harry Potter: Miss Malfoy

Chapter 218 Fudge and Lucius

Chapter 218 Fudge and Lucius

"Don't be angry, drink something first."

Lucius took a cup of Jubilee auburn wine from the coffee table filled with decanters beside his desk and poured it for Fudge. When he passed by Draco, the strong aroma of the wine filled his nose, making Draco, who was not good at drinking, feel dizzy.

Fudge sighed, took the glass, raised his head and drank it all.

Draco saw his father's confident smile. He turned to look at his mother, and Narcissa blinked at him in surprise. She seemed to be amazed that the Minister of Magic was actually a simple fool.

Fudge was already dizzy and drunk, and he didn't even notice that Draco and Narcissa were whispering in front of him.

"What on earth did Dad give him to drink?"

"This is your father's secret. It's a rare and precious thing. It's a pity that it was drunk by people who don't know how to appreciate it."

Lucius smiled at the mother and daughter, signaling them not to talk easily, and sat down in front of Fudge.

"minister."

"Hey, I told you, just call me Connelly!"

Fudge was obviously a little dissatisfied with Lucius' politeness, but Lucius smiled and followed suit.

"Connelly, there is something I'm not sure if I should tell you."

"What's there to be afraid of? Tell me, you're the only one in the Ministry of Magic that I trust."

Umbridge might protest if you say that."

Lucius tried with a smile, but Fudge kept shaking his head.

"Dolores? She's loyal, sure, but not as smart as you are. It's going to be a big undertaking to go against Dumbledore, Lucius. A big undertaking. Loyalty alone is not enough."

"Since you've said so, I'll give you my advice, Cornelius."

Lucius said this with a heavy expression, but Draco could clearly see that there was only calculation in his father's eyes.

Fudge believed it and sat up straight.

"Umbridge cares too much about you, and sometimes makes overly radical decisions. Like this time."

Lucius persuaded Fudge, who nodded. "I have already advised that it is no big deal to let Potter return to school. If you insist on expelling him, it may cause Dumbledore's people to make trouble."

"Oh, I know, I know. It's my fault this time, Lucius. I also know that Dolores is too rash, but I also want to take a chance." Fudge hiccuped and spoke laboriously.

"However, fortunately, I accepted your advice and used this opportunity to convene the Wizengamot.

Now I understand how deeply Dumbledore has infiltrated the Ministry of Magic."

"I was just trying to take advantage of the situation. But the point is, we didn't have to lose this game."

Lucius comforted her, but his eyes were emotionless. "If you had listened to me and let me off, everyone would have admired your generosity even more. But Umbridge..."

"I understand, Lucius. Alas, I can't tell her directly." Fudge sighed.

Lucius stood up again and refilled Fudge's glass, saying softly, "This is why I asked Draco to come. I am worried that Umbridge may become more radical when she arrives at Hogwarts, in Dumbledore's base."

"I'm worried about that, too. Will Draco be willing to help us?"

Draco watched as Fudge took another swig, seemingly forgetting that he was right in front of him.

"I'll ask her to help Umbridge. But if she goes too far..."

Seeing his father winking at him, Draco stood up and looked directly into Fudge's cloudy pupils with his bright eyes.

"Minister, please allow me to overstep my authority. Can you allow me to report Professor Umbridge's actions directly to you? At least this way, you will have an extra secret eye in the school."

"Draco, you are such a considerate and kind girl."

Fudge burped, looked at Draco's cute and smart face dizzily, and laughed with satisfaction. "If you want to work in the Ministry of Magic in the future, just look for uncle. I will arrange a good position for you."

Draco smiled, suppressing his disgust at such a loss of composure, and took it calmly.

"Thank you, Minister. I was just trying to help Dad."

"Oh Lucius, I wish I could have such a good daughter."

It seemed that his speech had successfully impressed the Minister of Magic. He searched his pockets but could not find anything.

Then he struggled to pull off the ring on his right little finger, his hands shaking uncontrollably, and handed the signet ring to himself.

"If you really need it, take it out. Wizards who still respect the rule of law will respect you as well."

Fudge hiccuped again and tried to stand up, but he was too shaky to stand steadily and had to sit down again.

Draco looked at the ring. On the flat surface, which was the size of a gold Galleon, was engraved the words MOM, which represented both the Ministry of Magic and the Minister of Magic. Turning it left and right revealed the totem of CF, which was Fudge's initials.

Lucius patted Fudge and stood up.

"Narcissa, Draco, you two should go back first. Let the Minister have a good rest here with me."

"No...you don't have to do that...um..."

Even though he was drunk, Fudge seemed to still have a little bit of etiquette and wanted to keep Narcissa and Draco.

But the growing drunkenness eventually overwhelmed his desire to speak.

The three Malfoys smiled at each other, all a little surprised that they achieved their goal so easily.

"Don't go home too late."

Narcissa warned softly as she stepped out the door.

"Thank you dad."

Draco hugged his father, walked out of the office with his mother, took the elevator, and left the Ministry of Magic.
