Chapter 388 Anti-Dragon Techniques
Chapter 388 Anti-Dragon Techniques
Following Atticus' full recovery and a small cleanup project near Blue Moon City, William returned to the Dragon Continent. He took half a day to recover his mental strength, then met with Flame Dragon Uri to pass along what he learned during the System's simulation.
The sun had just started to set by the end of William's story, and the sky was currently highlighted beautiful shades of red, orange, and pink. After a taxing day like today, seeing such a beautiful scene made William feel unnaturally relaxed.
When Uri heard that the humans of the Dragon Continent had nothing to do with his Clan's disappearance, he felt both relieved and guilty at the same time. If he hadn't joined Master Riyald back then, Uri might have been able to make a difference.
"Don't worry about it, Uri. There's nothing you could have done; you were too young." William patted Uri's large scales in comfort as the dragon solemnly stared off into the distance.
"I was already hundreds of years old. You're a fraction of that, and look what you've accomplished, Master." Uri shook his head.
"Don't compare yourself to me." William sighed. Without the System's help, William would be even worse than the average Magical Beast. Hearing Uri speak highly of him was a bit embarrassing, to say the least.
"Mm." Uri replied. He shifted his gaze to a nearby human city, randomly focusing on various humans as they went through their day-to-day assignments. "What do we do now, Master?"
William traced Uri's gaze, watching along as a group of human carpenters worked on a newly built home. They seemed to be in a rush to finish one last assignment, eagerly talking about going to a nearby bar afterwards.
"I have to locate the other Superior Cores, but you don't need to escort me anymore."
"I don't?"
"Nope, but that doesn't mean I don't have anything for you to do." William replied. "I'd like you to learn about these anti-dragon Techniques from the humans. If you can master some of them, perhaps you will really be considered the strongest dragon."
"Huh?!?" Uri couldn't believe what he was hearing. He turned his head to face his master, the bright red scales glimmering in the final light of day. "You want a dragon to learn... anti-dragon Techniques?!"
"Why not? If they work on you, they'll work on other dragons. Just because you're strong doesn't mean you can't resort to strategy in a difficult fight. It might save your life someday." William explained.
He knew dragons were a proud race, but Uri could progress smoothly with the System's help. All Uri needed to do was make sure his Techniques were always the best they could be.
"I won't." the Monarch frowned and crossed his arms.
"Even if I give you back your Space Ring?" William questioned.
"Even then." Read latest stories on empire
"Then I'll just destroy your Continent if you don't teach him." William shrugged his shoulders.
"You'll destroy the Continent for such a simple matter?" the Monarch couldn't believe what he was hearing. "You're bluffing!"
"Am I? The strength of my Companions is not a simple matter." William called Mana of the Chaos Element to gather on his fingertips, slowly opening the Territory of Chaos for added effect.
The Monarch felt a disturbance within the environment, watching as the ambient Mana went haywire and refused to comply with his orders. Even the Elements located within his own body ignored his calls, running rampant and causing slight amounts of internal damage.
He watched in horror as an area within one meter of William started to destabilize, spatial fissures destroying everything in their path. When the Territory expanded to three meters and was about to touch the Monarch's body, he truly believed that William had the ability to destroy a Continent by himself.
He prostrated himself on the ground and pleaded with tears in his eyes, "Alright! I'll teach him! Just don't destroy my beloved Continent!"
William closed the Territory of Chaos and smiled, "That's more like it. You can teach him tomorrow. And..." William leaned in close to whisper into the Monarch's ear. "If something happens to my Companion Beast, the Continent's destruction will be the least of your worries.
It was an empty threat, since destroying the Dragon Continent would lead to reduced rewards from one of his System Quests, but the Monarch didn't need to know that. His body shook as he nodded repeatedly, accepting every demand that William had made thus far.
Since both Atticus and Flame Dragon Uri had been assigned tasks that would take up much of their free time, and his friends were still probably Cultivating in the Revista Faction's Cultivation Site, William had no reason to keep his own schedule empty.
He finally consumed the additional fifty Seal Fruits in his mental warehouse, raising the comprehension of his Primary Law of Sealing to a whopping 5.6%. He felt his ability to suppress his own strength improve by leaps and bounds, but most of all, William felt like he was on the verge of learning something profound.
Just a few more Seal Fruits, and perhaps the System would give him more information about the functions of this Primary Law...
