Chapter 517 Earthen Assassin, Comet Storm

William scoured his brain for every bit and piece of information related to the Earth Element. Every Spell he developed in the Mortal Realms, every Spell he watched others use, every Fusion Spell containing the Earth Element, and every Cultivator he'd met who had the Earth Affinity.

Practically the last four years of his life were experienced in a few minutes, everything relevant noted down and recorded in a separate part of his mind.

From merely analyzing the first three months, William learned of a Spell unique to the Desert Beetles that helped them conceal their presence in the Foam Desert. Some Outer Core Disciples of the Five Elements Sect taught him the most basic methods to increase his defense, while others had several Innate Talents that he could imitate with his current strength.

Whether the Spells were weak or strong, useless or useful, or applied properly versus improperly, William learned them all without hesitation. He planned to improve them all regardless, so strength, usefulness, and application didn't matter much.

Simply the idea is what mattered most to him, since it gave William a starting point to work from. He spent half an hour organizing everything in a way that made sense to him, then inspected the first Spell.

William cast a Spell that layered a blanket of coarse sand over his body, giving him an itchy feeling while it scattered itself on his shirt and inside his sleeves. It would be a solid camouflage Spell in the desert, but he stood out like a sore thumb when inside of a Dungeon with nothing but stone brick.

There were several improvements to make here, but he started by changing the material. Instead of creating sand, the Spell would now create whichever earth-based material best matched his environment, and it would even change in real-time whenever he passed over a different type of stone or dirt composition.

To a Nascent Soul Cultivator, the Mana expenditure of this Spell would already be way too much, not to mention the difficulty of maintaining it during battle. Unless one had an S-Rank Earth Element, they would probably only last ten or fifteen seconds in this state.

But even an Ascended Cultivator would have no issues using a Spell of this type, which was why William aimed to make one more major improvement. If a Spell like this was simple enough to hide from Cultivators in the Ascended Realms, then William wouldn't have needed the Illusion Element to hide in the Academy's Dimension.

On one hand, tungsten was incredibly cheap to make, in terms of Mana. Sure, he wouldn't need to worry much about Mana, but it wasn't a good idea to squander it when the remainder could be used for refining his Mana Circuits.

Ascended Granite took considerably more Mana, but its offensive power far exceeded what tungsten could achieve. William would normally go full power, but this Spell wasn't supposed to be a one-hit kill.

I'll meet it halfway. William decided.

There was one specific material he had been thinking about for a while now, since it was both powerful and wouldn't need absurd amounts of Mana to create. He hadn't been able to make it before because his Earth Affinity was too weak, even at X-Rank, but it should be possible now.

Ever since his hand was trapped in the Array on the 19th floor and he had to cut away both it and the Space Rings attached, William had the temporarily lost Star Ore in the back of his mind.

In the Mortal Realms it was an absurdly rare material that only showed up once in a blue moon, and it was fairly uncommon in the Celestial Planes as well. Based on the System, this was because Star Ore could only be found in the Void, which existed in between all Planes and Worlds.

Inside the Void, Star Ore was incredibly common in the form of large asteroids, but one needed to at least be a Solar Deity Realm Cultivator to safely traverse even the least dangerous parts of the Void. Oftentimes, when Cities were low on Star Ore, they would hire a Solar Deity Cultivator to gather millions of tons for them and bring it back in bulk.

But with a flick of his finger and a little bit of focus, William managed to conjure up a plate-sized disc of Star Ore. With slightly more intent imbued into the Spell, he created Starmetal directly and molded it into the shape of fifty small bullets that carried incredible power.

Somehow, the original Comet Pellet name for the Spell stuck so well that it almost felt like a coincidence. William didn't want to fully give up the name, so he instead decided to change it slightly.
